At the recommendation of my father-in-law, I brought in my 2017 Buick Regal GS to address an oil leak, steering issue, and potential suspension issue. Prior to bringing my vehicle to this shop, I received diagnostics from a dealership and a major retail chain auto shop. Ultimately Royal Smog & Mechanic figured out the actual source of the oil leak was, found the source of my steering issue, and fixed everything within a fair amount of time. Scam artist at its finest. I bought a car salvage title so I need a break and lamp inspection which was to expense most place charge $150-200 they wanted $260 and smog test to register. I'm a mechanic my self been working on cars for over 15 years. So when I purchased this car I knew what I was looking for. Nothin was broken and breaks are fine this place broke a pcv valve to fail the smog and said the break pads and rotors or to worn I checked with a measuring tool have more then 50%. All in all they stole $325. To fail me and wanted to charge me $1800 in repairs. I priced out everything myself parts came out to be $170. So labor $1650 I don't know about you but that crazy. I'm so grateful to the guys who helped my classic 1989 Volvo 740 GL sedan pass smog for the next couple years. After having so many different car woes within the past 2 years...it was such a relief to have a back up hooptie to roll in. Went to another trusted smog center in town who were unable to pass the car because I had an after market part installed that made it impossible to get a true reading from the muffler. I was then reccommended to Royal Smog who took me in at the end of the day. The Bmod (Boss man on duty) Sam & his team were able to diagnose0 the problem. (I was chauffered home by the boss himself; who also happens to be nice on the eyes(lol).I only had to wait a day for my muffler to be fixed and have the Volvo running like brand new. It cost me a few Benjamin's...but well worth passing smog for another 2 years and is a quiet as a mouse when im rollin around town. I tooK my 2017 Nissan Altima to Royal because the oxygen sensor was not being recognized to pass a smog test. Even the Nissan dealer was at a loss on how to proceed. DISHONEST. This mechanic tried to charge me $75.,00 for an inspection of my car to drive for UBER. Uber recommends a maximum $45.00 charge. This mechanic claimed this was a 45 minute job. I have had this done previously; the time involved is substantially less than 15 minutes and requires nothing but a visual 12 point check. Brought car here after a breakdown and then extorted for storage fees before I was able to take my car away, despite being told my car could sit on the lot free of charge while arrangements were made. Sam (employee) was making up charges on the spot and would not give me my own car keys until i provided additional payments. There was no invoice, no itemized or systematic fee schedule, and wildly incorrect calculations of owed fees. I have never experienced such blatant robbery by a business. Do not trust this shop. Then, on that tenth time, when all reasonable people would give up, you meet someone that is as good as their word. One of the rarest people you can meet. I met two at the same business. I called first, Marwan quoted a price and said I could come right then and be taken care of right away- and he was true to his word. I was in and out in 15 min (maybe less?). Very disappointed in the service, mechanic ran over my key fob for my 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee, destroyed beyond repair, and instead of replacing it which could only be done through the Jeep dealership the owner contacted a mobile locksmith and provided me a key that can only be inserted into the starter entry the electric functions of the fob no longer work, I cannot remotely open the hatch to my Jeep and must manually insert the fob into the entry to start the car. I have been to this location before to have my brakes and rotors replaced, less than 2 years later after going to another tire shop I was told my rotors were warped and were not new and my brake pads were very very low, would not recommend this repair shop at all! read more

This place is so great, i felt safe here and didn't feel like i was getting ripped off, i feel like i saved more here than any other shop i could've gone to. this is my second time coming to this shop and both times Sam went above and beyond to make sure i was taken care of. But wait... there's more. Inspecting the whole pile of paperwork, I discovered that Royal Smog had given me an emissions test result for a DIFFERENT 1991 Japanese vehicle, a Mazda truck, license 37861F3, VIN JM2UF1238MO167429, which is dated 10/28/2023. I had wondered how they had gotten an exhaust gas sample, since Vallejo Smog could not get their equipment to measure my car, indicating that there was excessive dilution of the exhaust stream. I have since gotten Acapulco Mufflers, where I was sent by Vallejo Smog, to remedy the defective Resonator and muffler, at a cost of $360.49, work I actually needed. Royal Smog fraudulently supplied me with the documents concerning this 1991 Mazda truck as if they had actually tested my vehicle. I have now spent $846.98 in an effort to achieve compliance with CARB requirements. I am forced to avail myself of the CARB Referee Program Repair cost waiver, An important part, $297, of the burden of this goat rope is due to the fraudulent test and repair billing from Royal Smog. I am reporting this to the CARB helpline, helpline@arb.ca.gov. This shop does not deserve to have a license to fix tricycles. read more

2 VEHICLES SMOGGED IN LESS THEN 20MINUTES WITHOUT AN APPOINTMENT!! Let me tell you I was so impressed with this place because they got me in and out so quick without an appointment. The shop was busy but their customer service was great. From the phone call I made to getting everything taken care of and me outta there, the speed and attention to detail was awesome. They even have a nice open area patio like sitting for customers. While there I kept seeing Sakher everywhere helping his employees getting his hands dirty and talking to all the customers and parts delivery guys he was Enthusiastic and friendly with everyone. His employees were busy and happy bees working on different projects and performing different duties. They were a diverse mix just Vallejo is a melting pot of races and background. ROYAL is a "ONE STOP SHOP" this place does everything from SMOG CHECK, DIAGNOSTIC for just in case u our car doesn't pass smog, s o they do MECHANICAL work, MAINTENANCE work and BODY work. But the thing that sold me was when I saw him take his credit card tell one of his many employees to go get lunch whatever they want all on him.
