Our dog Simba has been to Valley Boarding a few times. He always returns home happy. They take very good care of our little guy.

I send my dogs here regularly. The older dog a mini poodle enjoys the socialization, but because of his age they take special care to make she he has his sweater on when it is cold. Both my dogs come home tired and happy. The crew care about the dogs. I like that they have cameras so you can see they are always attending to the dogs in daycare. This was the first visit for my new rescue Bebe a Maltese mix one and half yr old. She was new to me and now new to Valley Boarding and I had no idea how things would work. They have doggy cams for playtime and we found out together she was too nervous at outside play so we kept her in , although she was signed up for walks. I was gone four days and when I came to get her she was happy and healthy and had been well taken care of. The staff is wonderful and you will have no reason to worry about your pet if you use Valley Boarding and as an extra level of safety there is a vet office next door. read more

This is not the place to go if you want proper care for your dogs or a place of employment. The owner Tim and what I assume is a front desk manager Kathryn are not what they seem. Let's talk about the pet care first. They have dogs locked in kennels all day and only let out once in the morning with breakfast and once at night with dinner. When they are let out there is zero interaction with the dogs. Just in and out with only about ten minutes to enjoy the fresh air and do their business. I felt terrible for these dogs. There was an incident with a dog not taking his morning meds with his food as usual. Kathryn the front office manager came in and attempted to help give the medication again. The dog was in daycare at that time. The other employee went to get the dog as Kathryn staying in the doorway. The employee asked if we were administering the medication in the daycare room, Kathryn's response was " no the camera is on I don't want them watching". So the door was shut and Kathryn was scruffing the dog over and over. Tried putting a towel in its mouth to shoot the pill down. The dog is flailing trying to get away. Kathryn finally gives up after struggling for several minutes while the other employee and myself just stood by and watched it happen not knowing how to help and just shocked by what we just witnessed . She sends the dog back to daycare in a rude manner. The owner Tim even keeps several of his own dogs 24/7 at the kennel again to only be let out twice a day. I can't believe how this place stays in business. As far as the employment goes it was tough to get into. They interviewed and expressed interest. So I followed up twice in one week trying to get on the schedule and to set up paperwork. Time finally came to start working about two and a half weeks after they agreed to take me on. When I show up Tim is either not there or when he is he's angry and stressed and takes it out on people if you're not careful. I was told not to take it personally it's just how he is. I worked there for two days then asked for on boarding paperwork. I was told Tim would get it to me. He never did. I asked again two days later, and was told I was coming off aggressively and that they were "feeling me out" and I wasn't an actual employee. That was my final straw, I quit the next day. I wonder how many other employees they have screwed over by doing shady business like that. I reported them to the department of labor over the next few days because I called and texted about getting my check and I got zero response from both Tim and Kathryn. So I had my husband call on my behalf. Tim answered the phone all chipper thinking it was a new customer or something. As soon as my husband mentioned my name his tone changed and he got defensive, claiming he never gave me his contact info so how could he have know I was trying to contact him. Which is bologna. I have all the text messages still just in case I need to prove anything in the future. Beware of this establishment they are not what they seem. And if you are a loyal customer I strongly suggest you keep an eye on those cameras. They are not treating your fur babies the right way. read more

We brought our dog here for a single overnight. Did not even last one night. She got loose and wandered over 1/2 mile and across a highway. Fortuneatly, some nice people found her and called us. The kennel didn't call because the only person working there was out looking for her (we were told). It was never explained how she got loose. The Person working there did apologize. But no explanation from the owner. Perhaps there are holes in their walls or fences. With no explanation , we can only assume what form of owner negligence lead to this read more

We boarded our dog for one weekend at this place. I also toured the facility. The staff was friendly and they were quite busy. The kennels are clean and there are probably space for 30-50 dogs (guesstimate based on what I saw). The kennel area is *very* loud with all the dogs barking to the point where I'd need to wear earplugs if I worked there, so that was a bit of a turn off. There's a small outdoor area in the back to where dogs are taken out to do their business, but then they are brought right back in. For an additional (though reduced) fee, dogs can have daycare, where they spend some time in a separate indoor or separate outdoor area where they can play/socialize. If you don't do the daycare, there are a la carte services, such as "extra walks", "cuddle time", "one-on-one playtime". read more

Place is fantastic. Staff is always friendly, helpful and respectful. Dogs are in a safe and caring environment. Hours are reasonable, costs are competitive with other kennels in area. Would not think if bringing my dogs anywhere else in the South Windsor area. read more

Our husky LOVED coming here for daycare but this place turned out to be a huge disappointment. Our dog started coming here when he was 3 months old and for years he frequently went to doggie daycare during the day as well as stayed for boarding on multiple occasions and got groomed here. The last couple months that we were bringing him for daycare we noticed he was coming home full of energy- a complete change. We started paying attention to the cameras and come to find out for months he was being locked in a kennel instead of going to the "daycare" that we were paying for. The final straw was watching an employee just let him outside to use the bathroom then bringing him right back in to lock him up. When confronted they claimed they had new dogs there doing their "trials" and our dog was "too much" for them. Our dog has never had an issue and never had this problem before these 2 newer employees started working there. When picking up our dog for the last time we asked that Tim the owner call us to discuss what had happened but of course no one called. They clearly do not value clients or longevity here. Truly disgusting that for months we were thinking we were bringing our dog to play and have fun and instead he was locked in a cage all day. read more

Valley Boarding Kennel is excellent. I have used this place for day care for our 2 year old dog and overnight boarding for our cats and dog. They are very friendly to the dogs and cats as well as the owners. Each person I have met there is very interested in the dogs and will greet them with their name and cuddle the dog which makes me feel so much more secure about leaving her overnight. read more

Our Bernese Mountain Dog LOVES kennels. We have taken her to a number of places all over the country depending on where we lived at the time. This place is the only place where we have picked her up and she was visibly shaking, whimpering and anxious (all of them not normal behavior for her). After two times of picking her up in this state we will never board her here again. read more

Such a fantastic place. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and they are so incredibly flexible. I once had my flight cancelled due to bad weather and couldn't get out for a few days, no problem for them. Another time, called on the day I was supposed to bring my dog and cancelled, and they didn't even charge me! Their hours are great, even around the holidays, and they never seem to be full. Another plus, they have a relationship with the vet next door so they can get vaccination records for you and I don't have to worry if there was some kind of emergency. read more

We bring our dog (giant schnauzer) here regularly for grooming, daycare and boarding. He gets so excited the minute we pull into the driveway - he loves it there. The staff is super friendly, the prices are reasonable (especially the grooming) and he always comes home happy and tired. A few times after a day of daycare, they have sent him home with a certificate for "best behavior" or "most improved," a very nice touch and appreciated by us dog parents. We looked at many kennels before boarding our 1 year old lab mix for the first time, and decided on Valley- our pup spent his first night there last night and everything was wonderful - from the staff calming our nerves, to allowing us to call and check in on him, - nothing less than awesome!!! We felt like they really cared about his safety and well being. And the prices / hours are great. As much as we don't like to leave our buddy, our experience at Valley let us enjoy our trip and now we have a go-to place if we are out of town again!! read more

My dog gets a bordetella vaccine every 6 months, but still ended up getting sick after getting groomed here. Not only that, but I dropped my dog off first thing in the morning at 8am when they opened, and she still wasn't ready by the time I went to pick her up at 4pm when they closed. When she got sick after getting groomed here, I took her to her vet, which happens to be VCA which is literally across the street from them. They said "she got it from across the street, didn't she?" and explained that valley boarding kennel is known for spreading kennel cough. I will be avoiding this place going forward and suggest other do the same for the health of their pets. read more

We went here to pick up our dog since he was being fostered here. From the looks of things I wouldn't recommend it! In the indoor play area there are feces on the floor, and the toys are all chewed up. The outdoor exercise area is small and all the dogs were huddled together at the fence just standing there and barking at people. The floors inside were dirty and the facility didn't smell good at all. I wouldn't recommend this place! read more

Last time I will be leaving my dog at this kennel. Immediately after picking up my dog from vacation I noticed he was in a great deal of discomfort. He was having trouble walking and had little to no energy. All signs that any knowledgeable person would recognize and address. Apparently not at this kennel. Upon further investigation my dogs stomach was covered in an intense red and black rash. I immediately called the kennel to address the situation to zero affect. Not only did none of the employees admit to observing the problem but they did not even offer an apology. My dog had been at there facility for nearly a week and your telling me that no one noticed this problem; the same one I observed within ten minutes of being home. Total joke. If nothing else an apology would have been the least they could have offered. $150 veterinary bill followed my stay at this kennel. Saddest part is that my dog had to suffer for an extended period of time. read more
