They have easy access to a variety of quality ingredients to work their craft and it shows! I really didn't expect to find such an active beer and food scene in eastern Washington scene but I was really impressed. The Berchman's Brewing company is a good representative. The small tap room is rustic and warm. You are greeted here by family and the passion for the beer is clear. You can take your time here, talk, and taste the excellent products. I am personally a fan of stouts and dark beers and so I had their excellent "Dark Pony" a dark chocolate coffee stout. Meanwhile my partner had a four beer taster. Double IPA, pale ale, pilsner fan should all be happy here, The taproom is decorated with simple chalk drawing done with humour. Nice service, nice beer, nice ambiance, a sure bet to have a nice time in downtown Yakima. A reason to stop or even to make the town a destination.

They both brew beer and have their own cider label for all the cider fans out there. My favorite beer was their red ale, August Burns Red - a nice homage to one of my favorite bands during my junior high emo phase. The atmosphere is laid back. On the interior there's a nice modern industrial feel. A cool feature is the repurposed apple bins throughout the space. They currently don't have any food offering aside from popcorn though are cool with bringing in food from outside eateries. Overall this is an excellent addition to downtown and I am looking forward to taste how their beer/cider evolves over the coming years. We will definitely be back!

The…read moretown is quite close to Yakima and I have been there plenty of times to try the breweries there but it was very new going to Selah! Selah Springs Brewery was one of the breweries that was on my list to try out. Steve and I were highly impressed with what we had! We did some tasters to get an idea on what me might like and we really liked everything! In the end however I settled for a nice lager. I do have to say that the beers here were unique and very tasty which is something I am always on the lookout for when trying out new breweries. Also the staff here are very friendly and knowledgeable with any questions we had which is always a huge plus! This small brewery is definitely worth paying a visit to if you are ever in the area at all !

Lots of comfortable outdoor seating and a corn hole setup. They have a decent food menu, including perhaps the tastiest grilled ham and cheese sammie I've ever had (their secret is the extra loving steps taken in the prep). I liked all four beers in my flight, including a stout, a sour and two IPAs. The guy working there was great - we swapped stories about the trials and tribulations of being left handed.

Wandering Hop has highly creative and interesting beers which is something I always have my eye on for. Here they have milkshake beer which isn't exactly like beer and ice cream together but a kind of beer with a nice smooth flavor to it. I got Destination Home here which is a milkshake IPA which I really fell in love with. The beer was so awesome I could have ordered another or something completely different... I'm sure I would have like it... like the cream pepper beer for instance. But I controlled myself and just got the one since we were on a sampling tour of breweries we haven't visited yet so we moved on. On my latest visit Wandering Hop easily won out on which brewery I enjoyed most.

It has the vibe of an old barn converted into a tasting room. There is limited seating, both indoors and out, but plenty of shade and sun outside depending on where you want to sit. There is also quite a large patch of grass if you want to bring a blanket and do your tasting picnic-style. The wines were very good. And since this was our first stop of the day, I am confident in saying so! The tasting fee and bottles are also very affordable. The Allobroges is a rather unique of Grenache, Syrah and Mouvedre. I liked it enough to buy some for the road. Contrary to what you may read, tastings are NOT by appointment only. We walked in and were served quite immediately. Walk-ins are welcome for groups smaller than 8. They do private events and weddings.
