Just moved to The Valley and I got blessed with an awesome breakfast -lunch spot. They apparently must treat the staff well because there's a lot of them. I have been there twice in the few weeks I have lived here and both times I didn't leave disappointed. As a matter of fact I might have created more fans because I was not alone. Small place, but outdoor dining is available. They close at 3. It's a nice atmosphere. Very relaxing and a great menu. I plan on returning. There's a lot a tasty looking food I have yet to try. Made our first visit to this local breakfast and lunch spot this week. The inside was a pleasant surprise; it's so pretty and cozy and cheerful. There were a lot of outdoor tables too, and the whole place was busy on a Tuesday afternoon. I chose the French Toast with sausage and it was excellent. Service was diner-style - proficient and kind of minimal. The only real drawback was the temperature; the AC was cranking and I was cold even with a sweatshirt on. What's great about this location is that they serve alcohol on Sundays as opposed to the Wadsworth location that doesn't because of city regulations. Food: I went with my friend and she got the eggs Benedict that she absolutely devoured. The eggs were cooked perfectly and the presentation was beautiful as well. She had a seasonal iced coffee and it tasted exactly like a birthday cake but not over sweet. I got what I always get. The crispy chicken sandwich and I always customize it to make it like a chicken club with lettuce, Swiss, bacon and Mayo. Literally the only place around that makes a chicken sandwich I can not get enough of. I had a couple different mimosas as well and they were both delicious. Such a hidden gem in merriman valley. Warm dive vibe for sure. Huge menu with so many options for vegetarians to big meat eaters. Love all the boozy drink options and specialty coffee drinks. A few weeks ago I had a bad experience at this restaurant with some server being rude and making me feel like an inconvenience. The food was terrific as always which is what ultimately made me come back with my coworker for lunch today. To my surprise, Our server Bella was absolutely fantastic. She was so attentive, kind, and personable. She told us it was her second day working here but honestly she's the best server I've ever had here as it's clear she cares about your experience-- not just getting a paycheck. Clean, friendly, quality breakfast. I had the sausage biscuit and gray bowl. It was served in a cast iron pan and was a good amount of food. My first bite was a cold piece of sausage. That must have eluded the heat because the rest of the dish was nice and hot. I'd com back. Gone are the days of a $10 breakfast with coffee. This cafe has come to be our favorite place to eat after Mass on Sunday. It's not just the great fresh wonderful food, but the people that work there. They have become like family to us. It's menu provides a vast array or fresh & favorable dishes. I especially love the Avocado Toast with eggs and their hash browns ( get them extra crispy) are just the way my mom made them! Wanted to try this place out on July 4th and figured it'd be super busy so we joined the online wait list before we left our house. When we got there we saw that we were 2nd on the wait list and saw a chalkboard out front that said if you were on the wait list to please wait in your car, so we did. Waited about 20 minutes and watched people get seated right as they walked up to the hostess stand. So we went to the hostess to ask what was up and she said they weren't doing the wait list that day and then seated us immediately. But what a waste of our time though! Went for Dad's bday breakfast. It's a small place. Cozy is perfect word. We got their early enough that we did not have to wait for a table even for group of 6. Owner is super nice and personable. Everyone was pleased with their meal. Mom and I both had eggs Benedict. Dad went with new Amish cinnamon waffles and rest had basic two egg meals. We go to Papa Joe's and The Metchant Tavern frequently and I never knew this quaint little dinner existed. The servers are friendly and the food was good. I've been to both their Wadsworth and original Valley location (this one). At both restaurants, the food has been outstanding. Everything here is made from scratch. The food is always tasty. Expect a wait when you arrive; they're very popular and i have never seen it without a line because of this. My two favourites are their breakfast burrito, with chorizo, cheese, and egg, and their sausage gravy and biscuits (heads up, their spin on sausage gravy includes adding a bit of spiciness to it, so if you're expecting something comparable to Bob Evans, you're in for a surprise!). read more

However probably the most bland tasteless food I've ever had. I hope you don't like seasoning and flavor because this is not the place for you. My husband liked his French Toast. Sausage was very salty. I ordered 2 eggs, rye toast, and hash browns. It was awful. Not sure what kind of butter and grease they use. I had one bite of the hash browns and a half slice of toast. I could only choke down the eggs. We have been here so many times for breakfast and lunch. This is our last time. The decor, table settings, and homestyle design and food selection made me feel like I was in my grandmother's kitchen, that warm, comfortable, and down home feeling. Music from the 40's, 50's and 60's played on the speakers and matched the decor. Oh, and if you are a techie fan, the force is subtle, but present. My friends and I arrived at Valley Cafe on a Saturday morning just before eight o'clock and were the only guests there. By 8:30am the cafe started to fill up and by 9:30, just before we left, there were guests waiting to be seated. Seating seems to be limited to parties of 1 to 5 people. I think we sat at the only table that could seat 5--it was a little crowded at our table, which seemed made to seat four people, but the limited space only supported our community vibe and bonding :). The wait staff attended to our table regularly and I don't think my cup of coffee was ever dry, which I loved. As far as the food, I wish I hadn't eaten so much the night before so I could have ordered what was on the plate of my friends. I enjoyed my Valley Breakfast sandwich with bacon--I don't think you can mess that up. My friends breakfast food made my mouth water. The order of pancakes were stacked three high and went to the edge of the large plate! They looked good! The crowded seating is a negative. I don't know about you, but I prefer to be at least an arms length away from the other guest. One gentleman sitting at his table could have touched another guest with his elbow, maybe. Prince range is around $5 to $13 for breakfast. I would suggest getting their early on a Saturday morning if you don't want to be waiting for a seat. read more

Loved my sandwich and the iced tea. The service was very nice. We ate outside and the accommodations were satisfactory except for the bees! Bee ware, they were everywhere! At one point there were no fewer than ten bees hovering around me and my food. Our server was apologetic, but when a bee landed in my dressing, I was done. read more

So glad we stopped here while on our way back to Detroit from Cuyahoga Falls. This place is nestled within a nice neighborhood, and I liked that we saw locals riding bikes to visit the Valley Cafe for breakfast.
