Our garage door wouldn't open on Labor Day due to a broken spring. Called a couple of places but they were closed. Read the reviews on Yelp and called Simon. He answered the phone on Labor Day, gave me a good quote and said he could be there the next morning. He was extremely knowledgeable and professional. He had the door fixed in about 30 minutes, & said I didn't need to replace some of the other things I asked about. He suggested I replace the 25 year old plastic rollers with new ones with bearings (which I agreed with & did) and he showed me how to do some preventative maintenance. We wanted a contemporary anodized aluminum and satin etched glass for our remodel and other places were much much higher. About 4 months ago, a spring broke on our garage door. Simon was able to come out immediately. He completed the job and gave us a great price for the repair. He also advised us that the old garage door was the reason for the broken spring. Sure enough our garage door became unstable, cracking at the seams. Valley Garage Door "Simon" was great last year but this year Simon was Dishonest n a Lair! Last Friday my 1 spring broke to my door I called Simon he said that he can fix it at 2pm when he came out he realized that I needed a Heavy Duty spring he told me that they have to be made n won't ready until Tuesday. Note: I'm disable n I need access to my garage for my 3 medical scooters n charger I was upset then Simon told me that my door was old n coming apart n probably wouldn't last long n it would be cost effective to buy new door well Simon talked me into a new door I was more upset n told him so n told him I'm on SSI on a fixed income n can't afford it I was very upset He had 3 doors available 2 he didn't recommend n he could install it on Sunday well on Saturday Simon called to tell me he didn't have the door then tried to sell me the doors he didn't recommend I told him "NO" he said he could get my door by Tuesday but he had a busy schedule we went up to a week for installation I got made n said I just want the broken spring fixed that's when he told me that he could of fixed it on Friday that's when I knew he was lying to me I told him I was going else where he got upset n hung up the phone. Monday morning I called a new Co. when they came they told me that my door was a Safety Hazard n that Simon should of told me they also said I have a good Oak Garage door n it will last for along time all it needs is a fast service they replaced 2 springs tighten all the hinges n replaced all the old rollers with new nylon rollers for 235.00 with no credit card fee Simon was charging me 618.00 with 18.00 credit card fee.
