100% 10/10 for this hidden gem I truly think this place is not being found or ppl are not reviewing how great it is! Location you would not know that this cute little place is hidden in there, from the outside it's not something that screams amazing, then you walk in and see how lovely he has it decorated, so clean so welcoming and the owner is amazing at explaining specials they offer! He even called to check to see if the items were asked for had tree nuts or peanuts, he made sure to sanitize everything. They have the cutest little conches he mashed them special and so cute with little faces! I didn't even want to eat mine because of how freaking adorable it was! Ice cream is creamy and delicious, the churo cheesecake was great with matcha ice cream on top! I wish I could get the word out for this place more! I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE! read more

The churu cheesecake is so good. I topped it with pistachio ice cream, coconut and sweet cream sounds like odd combination but it worked. I used to drive past this place on way to work all the time didn't realize it was here. I looked up dessert and Valley Ice Cream popped up. Gave it a try. Glad I did. I will be back. Hidden gem. This spot is such a welcome addition to the area! There's music playing and it's such a vibe. There is a few tables inside and Armando was super helpful! We got a concha, elote and churro cheesecake. The place they get their concha's from are made fresh daily and served warm topped with cold ice cream and any toppings you want. The churro cheesecake is served with ice cream but I just got it topped with creama and fresh strawberries. It was super good. The elote was served warm with queso and Valentina. I've been in here a couple times and was surprised this last time that they've torn down a wall, expanded and are preparing to serve food. The service has always been very friendly and helpful with suggestions. This time I got a churro cheesecake that was on special and went with coffee ice cream to top it. They recommended adding the white sauce and I'm really glad I did. Everything was really good. This cute little shop was just what I needed to end what had previously been a not-so-great afternoon. The friendly and helpful owner made it hard to stick to just one thing. While ice cream is featured (They serve several less common flavors.) There also is a shaved ice , drinks and they do a nice take on several Mexican desserts so we didn't care that ice cream first spoiled our dinner. read more

Brought my cousin here since this was his last night in Phoenix and he wanted a quick dessert. The first thing I noticed when we stepped in, was how we were welcomed in. The gentlemen begging the counter was very kind and patient with my cousin, giving him info and opinions. Valley ice cream shop is a must! Located in a small shopping plaza, this restaurant holds so much character. We were immediately greeted by Armando and he gave us a run down of the menu. I chose a concha with vanilla ice cream and my two toppings of sprinkles and coconut flakes. My boyfriend ordered the churro cheesecake with both strawberry and cookies and cream ice cream, drizzled with sweet cream. The concha was so big, I opted to share with my daughter. I absolutely loved the idea of the concha stuffed with ice cream and the way the flavors merrier together was heavenly. It was a nice treat without being overly sweet. The churro cheesecake was also absolutely delicious. Armando told us a bit about his business and the community. He purchases his concha's and concha cupcakes from a local bakery, fresh daily. They do make the cheesecake in house, along with many other treats. He also showed us the back patio space that he hopes to turn into a space for customers to enjoy breakfast, lunch, dinners and even coffee. His mother owns the Mexican herb shop, located next door, which I thought was so cool. The decor alone is a sight to see and you can tell he takes so much pride in the space. Was excited to have been able to try a new place that I normally wouldn't go to. Everyone was extremely friendly and nice which made the experience even better! The inside looks like a mom and pop which is like your neighborhood ice cream place... which if you're a kid at heart, you'd love it. The outside doesn't look as inviting so it really isn't a spot that normally would stand out to me but I'm happy I was able to try it. However, what it lacked in outside invitation was all removed once I tried what they offered and they have such a a variety. I myself have never had a concha before so this was amazing! The flavors were robust and truly Mexican flair. If you're looking for a different type of ice cream experience than the regular ol stuff... give it a shot! I have to say that the decorations of this place are done quite well. It's located in a run down plaza. There was really loud music playing in the parking lot, but I was glad that you could hardly hear it once you're inside the shop. The woman serving us had some trouble as she admitted her English wasn't very good. Some of the conchas are made differently which definitely confused us and she didn't do a good job of explaining it but we all just wanted their normal concha which is essentially a bread bowl but instead of soup, they put in a scoop of ice cream. It was pretty good. I even tried out one of their frescas con cremas which is a cup of strawberries and cream with other items such as walnuts and I had some mango in it too. One of my biggest gripes is that the prices on their website is incorrect and there are no prices on their menus. The frescas con crema should have cost $2 but it was $9.75. Thus, best to ask how much everything is since the whole website is displaying false information. read more

Not only did the owner let us sample a few things before we ordered, he took the time to get to know us and try to figure out what we liked. He knew it was our first time in the area and our first time trying Mexican desserts and he wanted us to enjoy dessert. He even offered to give us recommendations for other places and things to do as well. The dessert itself was different from what we were used to, but very good!
