Sugar Bowl is another gem in Old Town Scottsdale and I finally stopped in for lunch!! I ordered an Egg Salad Sandwich and a 1 scoop Banana Split to go. The employees were nice and greeted me when I walked in. I did not catch the guy's name behind the counter, but he took my order and he packed my banana split perfectly. The sandwich was pretty basic, but it was a good size and also came with a giant pickle spear and some potato chips. For $10.50, it wasn't a bad deal, and I was very satisfied. I usually make mine with mustard, mayo, some spices and a little bit of relish. Their seemed like it was only egg and mayo, so it was pretty bland. The banana split was a good size, even for it being a 1 scooper! It took me 2 days to finish it, which is a good thing! I can't believe I waited this long to try this place out! It definitely has a lot of charm inside. The nostalgia of the good ole days is seen all over once you step inside. If you're looking for a snack or sweet treats, Sugar Bowl is your spot!

Sugar Bowl is truly a blast from the past. It feels like stepping into a 50s diner while being in the heart of Old Town. I came on a weeknight with my parent while they were visiting from out of town. We opted for just some ice cream sundaes to satisfy our sweet tooths. I ordered the buster brownie which was easily enough for two people to share. The brownie was warm & soft and the ice cream was thick and creamy. A melt in your mouth experience. We enjoyed the sit down, tableside service and the ambiance of simpler times. A gem of a spot that I hope never leaves.

Was super excited to try this place for the first time but unfortunately was disappointed by multiple things. Overall, pretty bummed about my experience. Food was ok...nothing special, got a coffee shake and the flavor was more bland than coffee. My dad and I tried a tuna melt and something in it tasted old and it came with chips which were very stale. Service: The service was very disappointing as our waitress did not come check on us or fill up our waters and we had to ask for the check. I saw her playing in her phone to which she didn't hear when we asked for the check for the first time. Vibe: I like the idea and vibe of the restaurant but unfortunately did appear a little dirty. You can see a picture of the booth we were sat at there was hair sticking to it as if it wasn't cleaned before.

I love this ice cream shop. I ordered an ice cream soda. It was delicious! Friendly staff and easy to find location. A+

Great spot in Old Scottsdale. It's perfect for a family outing or a date night. The place was clean, and the atmosphere made it feel like you stepped back in time with its cool retro setup. The customer service was great, and our server was amazing. I highly recommend the peanut butter milkshake with caramel and fudge mixed in. It was so good. They also have a food menu, including breakfast options, which is a nice bonus. If you're looking for a great dessert spot in the area, definitely check this place out. They have tons of options, and there's something for everyone.

Cute little dinner!!!! Also serve some sandwich's and soups. Cute spot to take people when they come visit you. Fun game room too

The ice cream parlor seems to be a dying breed, and I was so happy to stumble upon this place on a trip to phoenix. They seat you like a normal restaurant and take your order at the table. The experience is very cute and really highlights how the simplest pleasures can be the best. And the ice cream was sinfully good.

I was in AZ visiting a friend and we decided to visit Scottsdale. It was pretty hot while we walked around so we popped into this ice cream shop to cool down. We decided to split a veggie sandwich and get some desserts. They brought out our sandwich first and it was really nice because they halved it and put it on separate plates for us. It came with chips and pickles on the side. It was really refreshing on a hot day. My friend got cookie dough ice cream and I got their raspberry sherbet with sprite. It was nice and cold and had a good flavor. The decor was super cute. Some people were taking pics with the backgrounds. It would be cute to dress up and go back.

Super cute old school ice cream Parlor in old town Scottsdale. I was craving some homemade ice cream and went here after dinner for a sweet treat! I got a single scoop strawberry ice cream in a cup and it was delicious! Creamy, real strawberry bits, perfect consistency. They do serve food here, I didn't eat there but the menu looked good. Diner style. Service is great, ordered our ice cream at the counter and paid for it at the cashier by the exit door. Cute little restaurant with a nostalgic experience.

Old school ice cream shop and diner, featuring decor from days gone by. Great service and friendly employees. When you've been around as long as they have been, you know something is being done right. Our party only had ice cream, which was great, but the food coming out to neighboring tables also looked really good.

Very cute spot! It looks like a retro ice cream parlor, complete with a bar area if you like to sit close to the action. We stopped in and it was buzzing, lots of people. Servers were very friendly, though they definitely could have used another staff or two to help keep things moving. I ordered the dusty road sundae and it was delicious! Couldn't finish sadly, but would absolutely get it again.

Best over priced banana spilt in town! Price gauging at its finest. It is ridiculous won't return but it was good but not that good! Lower the prizes no reason for this at all!

We went to this place last Wednesday and had a great time! The ice cream we ordered was amazing and delicious. We loved the old-fashioned atmosphere, from the vintage menu books to the cute décor throughout the place. It felt very nostalgic. We also took our son to play the old-fashioned arcade games using tokens, and he had so much fun collecting tickets after playing. The whole experience reminded me of the 1990s and early 2000s. It was a fun family outing, and we look forward to coming back again!

Are there any dairy free options for ice cream?

    Not that I remember.

Do they have gluten free options?

The chili soup is and they said they can do a salad without croutons and with oil/vinegar as the dressing.

It's really bright and colorful inside. The current limited flavors include black sesame and ube which is incredible! I tried both and it was hard to pick but I went with a single scoop of black sesame as I never see that flavor anywhere. It was so creamy with a nutty, coconut flavor and not too sweet. What caught my eye was the mango sticky rice and I love this Thai dessert and was pretty excited to try it. We met up here around 8pm and the place was pretty quiet. Lots of seating inside and some outside too. Staff very friendly here and I got to try the coconut sorbet (which was super yummy) and also the mango sticky rice. I chose the mango sticky rice and enjoyed this treat. Next time, I might get half coconut sorbet and half mango sticky rice as I absolutely love coconut! Fun place to check out and its located in a great part of Scottsdale! Would be fun to come back, grab a cup of ice cream and go walk about Old Town Scottsdale. I see why this place is an Arizona favorite. I enjoyed it too! I'd definitely Come back!

My grandparents who were visiting from out of town, loved it. Overall, it was a delicious treat, beautiful store and hit the spot. I do feel the price point is a tad steep and they didn't have any children of small offerings, but I suppose that goes hand in hand with the luxe vibe.
