Old school ice cream shop and diner, featuring decor from days gone by. Great service and friendly employees. When you've been around as long as they have been, you know something is being done right. Our party only had ice cream, which was great, but the food coming out to neighboring tables also looked really good.

Super cute old school ice cream Parlor in old town Scottsdale. I was craving some homemade ice cream and went here after dinner for a sweet treat! I got a single scoop strawberry ice cream in a cup and it was delicious! Creamy, real strawberry bits, perfect consistency. They do serve food here, I didn't eat there but the menu looked good. Diner style. Service is great, ordered our ice cream at the counter and paid for it at the cashier by the exit door. Cute little restaurant with a nostalgic experience.

Very cute spot! It looks like a retro ice cream parlor, complete with a bar area if you like to sit close to the action. We stopped in and it was buzzing, lots of people. Servers were very friendly, though they definitely could have used another staff or two to help keep things moving. I ordered the dusty road sundae and it was delicious! Couldn't finish sadly, but would absolutely get it again.

The Sugar Bowl is a classic spot to visit in Old Town but beyond the vintage vibe of the location, the offerings leave some things to be desired. For ice cream/milkshakes/sundaes of varying sorts, the prices are fairly high for what I would consider basic desserts. While they are delicious, there isn't anything that necessarily makes them stand out from other locations in the same part of town. The service was very quick and our specific server was very attentive. Overall, it's an enjoyable spot, especially if you are going for the ambiance.

Such a cute old-school style soda fountain meets ice cream counter meets diner establishment! Our server was so sweet and even put a birthday candle in my dad's sundae. She made sure we were taken care of the entire time with water and coffee top offs. We had the grilled American cheese sandwich (a classic and yummy option), the vegetarian sandwich, and Reuben. All the sandwiches came out quickly and were delicious! They're served with crunchy kettle chips and pickle. We got the Baller parfait (strawberry, mint chocolate chip, fudge), the Tin Roof Sundae, and the Gosh-Awful-Banana-Split Sundae. The Tin Roof was a great classic, the Baller was flavorful and beautiful, and the Gosh-Awful was awful good! It gave us a chance to try their sorbet. Their coffee was hot and tasty with a splash of cream. Great place to come for lunch or a sweet treat!

A cute spot that takes you back in time. Plenty of desserts to choose from at a good Price point. Servers were kind and attentive! I loved my Sundae.

Such a cute little old-style ice cream parlor with lunch options and sundaes of your dreams! The milkshakes and ice cream were so good and refreshing after walking in the hot Arizona heat.

Sugar bowl is a throwback ice cream shop that also serves food and is still run by the same family since 1958. We stopped in after playing a competitive game of Curling and walking to the Mission in Old Town. It was an action back day after traveling from CLT, NC and stilling on EST. Julian, who is one Brody's teammates, got the Buster Brownie sundae Brody got the root beer float Andreas ordered the coffee cafe, Sima got a bowl of colorful ice cream and I ordered a coffee milkshake. We all enjoyed our treat after a long day of fun and travel. Definitely recommend Sugar Bowl over the over priced, over hyped corporation this caddy corner. Much more character and charm in this oldie but goodie!

This place really gives old school vibes! Tucked in old town Scottsdale, Sugar Bowl is so unique with the pink decor and girly pop vibes of the place. We ordered milkshakes and they were incredible - they provide milkshakes, sundaes, and other dishes outside of icecream for lunch (like sandwiches etc) so there's good variety. The place had a steady flow of people coming in and out and we had come towards the late afternoon, so I can only imagine how busy it can get earlier in the day. Definitely check it out!

This is an old-fashioned diner/ice cream parlor! The ice cream was very good! The service was ok as well. The restaurant had a steady flow of customers eating at the counter and throughout the diner!

One of the best chocolate malts I have ever had. If you want a traditional ice cream shop with a ton of options this is THE spot. Plus they have diner food as well. Super pretty inside. Very pink. Games in another room so bring the kids. Staffed checked on me multiple times without asking. Love this place.

Are there any dairy free options for ice cream?

    Not that I remember.

Do they have gluten free options?

The chili soup is and they said they can do a salad without croutons and with oil/vinegar as the dressing.

I've gone to the central location a bunch but this was my first time at the old town spot. It was pretty quiet and there's a bit more seating inside at this location which is nice. It's really bright and colorful inside. The current limited flavors include black sesame and ube which is incredible! I tried both and it was hard to pick but I went with a single scoop of black sesame as I never see that flavor anywhere. It was so creamy with a nutty, coconut flavor and not too sweet. A friend suggested this place for an after dinner meet up and I took a look at their menu and they have a nice selection of non dairy options so I agreed. What caught my eye was the mango sticky rice and I love this Thai dessert and was pretty excited to try it. We met up here around 8pm and the place was pretty quiet. Lots of seating inside and some outside too. Staff very friendly here and I got to try the coconut sorbet (which was super yummy) and also the mango sticky rice. I chose the mango sticky rice and enjoyed this treat. Next time, I might get half coconut sorbet and half mango sticky rice as I absolutely love coconut! Fun place to check out and its located in a great part of Scottsdale! Would be fun to come back, grab a cup of ice cream and go walk about Old Town Scottsdale. I see why this place is an Arizona favorite. I enjoyed it too! I'd definitely Come back!

They offer chocolate ice cream, vanilla ice cream, cheesecake or a banana for dipping. You can build your own or select one of their speciality bars - both coming in around $9. I opted for the Neverfull of nuts. A vanilla ice cream base, dipped in chocolate, rolled with peanuts, a Reese's and Nutella drizzle. It was very good and definitely enjoyed during the beautiful sunny day in Old Town. The service was great, friendly, quick and helpful with suggestions. My grandparents who were visiting from out of town, loved it. Overall, it was a delicious treat, beautiful store and hit the spot. I do feel the price point is a tad steep and they didn't have any children of small offerings, but I suppose that goes hand in hand with the luxe vibe. I would definitely return, but also a few other local spots that equally hit the mark.

My husband got the March Madness feature, which was a combo of Oreos and Andes mints with whipped cream and chocolate sauce. You can choose chocolate or vanilla ice cream - he chose chocolate.
