Came across the meal trailer on a job site. I ordered the Smoked Pork Ribs, with beans and corn bread muffins. The beans are seasoned perfectly. Very tasty. The ribs had a nice rub, tender and a good smoke flavor. The mini corn bread muffins were a perfect touch. The meal is portioned so if you watching your macros it's a perfect fit. I am so glad the local nutrition shop I go to in Lodi carries Valley Meal Prep! Every menu item I've tried thus far has been delicious & nutritious! The macros are labeled right on each container and seem to be very accurate! Whenever I don't prepare my own meals, I'm glad I can rely on getting a Valley Meal Prep meal and it tasting great! A while back, I had placed an online order which was picked up at the Modesto location, and the process was seamless! The instructions on their website are straight forward and communication on when it was ready was clear cut! Worst company ever! I saw a sale on their IG page for 5 meals for $50. So I placed an order at midnight but didn't know how to add my meals so I called the Turlock location since I live there, the girl said add my meal choices in the notes section. Great. Done. The next morning I get a call saying that deal is no longer available it's only for turkey and chicken. I'm allergic to turkey so I said ok I'll pay the extra $30 to customize she says they can't change orders. I said ok well I'm allergic I can't eat turkey she tells me "I don't know what to tell you" and "we don't offer refunds" . So I ask for the manager. He wasn't in. So I said ok well now what and she says nothing I have to order turkey. Lol wtf. So I go in person because sometimes things can be misconstrued over text and phone and they refused to refund me, refused to work with me in any way. The food was INEDIBLE. The taste was disgusting, and a family member and I had to brush our teeth to get rid of the awful taste we had in our mouths. My experience made me leary to try anything I ordered that week (over $100 worth of food) because thinking about eating this place's cooking made me nauseated. The food is good, much better than any fast food chain. They conveniently warm it up for you as well. There is much more variety than there was in the past which is great! However, if you order meals here to meet your macros... the calculations aren't accurate. I've gotten meals in the past with 2oz of meat vs 4 that was calculated. Just got 15 for my type 1 diabetic friend and it was extremely off. The 5g carb blueberry muffin should've raised her well over the 360s meaning that it's more like 10-12gc. Nor dissatisfied by food at all, but it's def something to take into consideration if your macros matter. read more

Ordered a breakfast burrito which had egg cheese and "bacon"...when I bite into the burrito, it was all egg, no bacon yet. Took another bite and it was still egg, I got to the bacon! which was just bacon bites( about 15 pieces). I direct messaged the Instagram page to express my concerns and i was told "the sticker is not on the container, you messed with the burrito, we do not make burritos like that" if you didn't make burritos like that then as a business you could have easy fixed the issue, instead you decide to block a consumers page to just not deal with the complaint you got? very unprofessional. I have been pleasantly surprised with how good the majority of their meals have been. Only items I haven't liked are the chicken breast meals- the chopped chicken breast reheats fine just not the whole one. I also add some salt-free seasonings at home to things. I actually don't mind that they don't heavily flavor their meals, I think that makes sense because we all have a different palate. I like Valley Meal Prep, they make pretty decent food for my busy schedule. I have no issue with the product, I have issue with service. Firstly I put my order early Sunday morning. Yesterday on Monday I realized I put the wrong address. I asked through their website if I can reroute to my work address as no one is home. If they had told me no I would have tried to ask people to watch for it on my behalf and receive it on my behalf. They responded via email that they can change the address. So I was told by the owner of the home where I stay that his girlfriend found my order on the doorstep. Firstly they advertise that this service will not drop off orders on a door step, it has to be hand delivered. So I call to see what happened. Also to know if the food is bad because if they had delivered it early in the morning, it would clearly not be okay at this stage. The owner became very defensive. He stated that blame goes all around it was my fault for putting the wrong address in the first place. He said we have blame for not getting it to you and leaving it your door step but told me I'm to blame for messing up my address in the first place. In my opinion don't tell me you can reroute the order if you can't or if its going to be such an issue. Look I liked their product and I didn't call to attack him, I sent an email that it wasn't cool that they left it on my door step like that. Valley Meal Prep stating that you only hand deliver orders and never leave it on the door step is why I chose your service. Not doing so is false advertisement. Blaming the customer for the mistake is also not okay. Hey I get it, I'm a manager, I deal with a fair amount of deliveries and logistics everyday. Stuff gets messed up but I take responsibility for the mess up and do my best for my customers. Saying eat your food its good for four hours in the outside is not the point. You left it on my doorstep without knowing if id get to it. You could have called, you could have said no to the reroute. But why is it 200 calories less than the chicken Cobb salad? And the salad dressing isn't included on the list of ingredients, did it get skipped when adding up the calories? also, the banana chocolate chip pancakes are so satisfying that I can't finish it in one sitting! No. Customer service fail. That is not how you apologize for treating customers like garbage. When I explained this to her, all I got was an excuse, "The chef is tired." Again, not my problem that as a business, you posted his cell as the contact number AND that you don't have another way to get ahold of anyone because no one answers your other number and your machine doesn't take messages. On top of that, there was a major snafu in the way they processed payment. I made my purchase on 6/7/17, using my debit card. It sat pending until 6/10/17, until which time the transaction disappeared. I called my bank on 6/12/17. I was told the merchant released the transaction. I reached out to Lena, in an attempt to do the right thing. She said, "Since the transaction didn't go through, I won't charge you." Then, suddenly, I was charged. When I told her, she said, "I'm sorry. I wish I could reverse for you." To me, it is NOT about the money. I had the product, I'll pay for it. Really impressed with this food delivery service. The customer service is superior. My laptop is testy and never allows me to order online. I have been calling once a week to place my order, and have been inside the store in Modesto. Everyone I've come in contact with is beyond great. Very friendly, yet professional. Now for the food...it's actually very good! Not sure why I was so surprised, but I was. Pleasantly surprised. Food is fresh, tasty, and comes in good sized portions. The prices are on point. Really affordable and so convenient. My only wish is that the meals were totally organic. I totally get it though- can't do it all and going 100% organic would definitely raise the price. Valley meal prep is my go to! Very affordable meals considering the portions and if you went through a drive thru or restaurant you'd spend more.. and it wouldn't be as healthy. They do deals sometimes where it's buy 4 get one free. Every person I've encountered here has always been so friendly! I even stopped by on my lunch break last week and picked up 7 meals.... the lady working asked if I wanted a dish warmed up before I left! I was so happy because I literally just had time to eat on my way back to work so it was convenient. It's been quite awhile since I have been eating healthy and have been paying the price with weight gain and feeling crappy. The owner of VMP, Matt Martin, posted some new menu items on Facebook recently and that inspired me to get back in the groove again. So off to VMP I went. I went in on a Monday afternoon and it was hoppin'. It was so busy, that the choices weren't as plentiful as they usually are, but that's ok, everything made here is healthy and tastes great. I had no problem finding a nice variety. Despite creating a new menu, VMP still had my favs, such as the Asada bowl and the Blueberry Protein pancakes. I made my choices for my lunches for the work week, and found out that VMP still has the deal where if you order 4 meals, you get the 5th for free. 5 meals came to $38 even. That's $7.60 a meal. That includes Nutrition facts for each meal ( calories, fat, carbs and protein info), no shopping for groceries, no cooking, no dishes, no kitchen clean up and a very nice variety of healthy meals. The containers are even reusable if you wash them by hand. I use them when I do my own meal prepping or when I want to send friends home with leftovers. Honestly, for healthy, economical meals like this, it doesn't make sense to cook yourself. If you're on the fence about getting healthy because it's too much of an effort to cook or keep track of nutritional info, VMP is your answer. read more

The website and confirmation email does not provide an actual address for pick up. Only vague descriptions of Modesto area ("downtown", "north", etc) I went to the ONLY Modesto address listed on their website and was told my order was at the other Modesto location and that the location was already closed at 4pm(this was at 4:15). That was the only day I get off work in time before they close, so I emailed the owner and he was sarcastic and rude and acted like I was the stupid one for the mistake. Between working full-time and taking care of my toddler, I don't have as much time to cook as many balanced meals for myself as I would like. Luckily, Valley Meal Prep has me covered! They operate out of Modesto, Stockton, and Turlock, but they currently offer free delivery to the Sacramento area on Wednesdays.
