It was a wild ride. I went here on a whim during my lunch break to get a basic fill and was seen by a man working there. Right off the bat, he was snippy with me and incessantly yanked on my hands when they weren't exactly where he wanted them. I wasn't on my phone or distracted and truly could not figure out what he wanted me to do. This isn't my first rodeo, I know to be courteous and relaxed when the technician is working. He sat me in the station right behind the front desk and took several calls during my fill which only prolonged my interaction time with him. Then he gets to my pinky nail, which I had warned him was lifting more than the others. He sees this and proceeds to shove his own fingernail underneath my pinky acrylic and rip it straight off. Needless to say it was painful. I was honestly in shock. All of this to say, I won't be coming back. The customer service needs so much work. read more

I just came from this place an hour ago. My mom and I got pedicures. The place is nice and clean however the quality of my pedicure was no good. My pedicurist was nice but seemed too occupied in conversation with another employee to pay attention to what she was doing. I paid 5 dollars extra for callus remover and my heels look worse than when I came in (see pictures). My polish looks nice but my feet and legs are ashy due to the service not including lotion? A group of us girls decided to treat ourselves to a Saturday Spa Day and started by visiting Valley Nails for pedicures. Despite the fact that we didn't have an appointment and they were fairly busy, we were acknowledged as soon as we walked in the door and they were able to fit us in pretty quickly, which was very appreciated! The girl who did my pedicure did a great job. She was attentive and actually took the time to really massage my legs and feet. My only "complaint" was that she tried to constantly up-sell and add-on things: sugar scrub, manicure, callus remover, etc. Even after I did give in and take her up on the manicure idea, she continued to try to get me to upgrade to the gel manicure, despite the fact that I politely turned her down several times. She was never rude about it, and even after I said "no" she was still very polite and did a nice job with the basic manicure I asked for, so really not a huge problem. Overall, I would recommend this place and plan on going back. read more

If I could rate this place a negative I would! They Lie about prices and don't honor what they first said something would cost ! They obviously don't care about customers and could care less. This place fills their gel with liner in order to get more bang for their buck, leaving your nails a brownish tint after a day. When I called the nail salon, they stated they don't do refunds but I was already out of town in order for them to fix it. When I returned from vacation, they said I had to wait for the manager and he wouldn't be in until the next day. Essentially they didn't care and didn't rectify the situation. I don't get my nails done at the salon too often, as I enjoy doing them myself and I'm a perfectionist about the polish application. Bubbles, missed edges, and over-painting onto skin drive me a little nuts. I am currently pregnant and can't quite reach my toes anymore because my belly has reached epic proportions. I wanted to find a nail shop that felt clean, sanitary, and well-ventilated for the baby's sake, and also felt pampering and relaxing for my own sake. I tried a few places in Ahwatukee and Chandler, and Valley Nails is the only one that met all my nit picky criteria. Most importantly, they keep the place well ventilated (great for pregnant ladies with sensitive sniffers or concerns about chemical fumes). Most of the other shops I went into had that horrible chemical smell that made me feel like I was probably giving my baby some sort of terrible disease by breathing in. Valley Nails had a barely perceptable nail salon smell and that was a huge relief. Second, I enjoyed a wonderful pedicure and they did a meticulous job. Third, my pedicure lasted me a LONG time (several weeks) which is a miracle for my feet. My home pedicures usually only last a week because I have so many shoes that rub the tops of my toes and my big toe naturally curls upward to aid in this process. Fourth, the prices were average, middle of the road prices, but I really felt like I got what I paid for. Fifth, on a splurge I sprang for a design on my big toes which is super cute. They really do have some fine artists in residence there and it has been fun to show my feet off these past weeks. Finally, I left feeling substantially more relaxed than when I went in. Between a lovely foot massage, a comfortable massaging captain's chair, and an all-around pleasant experience, I got some good relaxation done. I'm about to call them to make my next appointment (although they take walk-ins) and wanted to post my review on Yelp as a thanks for helping me find this little gem of a nail shop. read more

There's been more than once I've spotted some adorable toes and asked where they got them done and it was always here, so I thought I had to try to. This isn't the nicest salon, many of the massage chairs are broken and everything is pretty worn out, they don't do a great job with the pumice or massaging, but the nail art is phenomenal! The first time I got hot pink toes with argyle and the second time zebra stripes with silver accents. I've never received so many compliments and they lasted nearly a month. If I could rate negative 5 stars I would. I have never had such horrible service in my life. Took my little sister in for a gel color change with An appointment. they didn't even start doing her nails until 30 minute after our appointment time. I Said multiple times it was just a color change on her existing full set. She started taking off her acrylics piece by piece. As my sister is sitting there crying, jumping, and telling her it hurts, she continues. I intervened and was told it was my fault she took the nails off. As she continues to do her nails she was extremely rough and aggressive with her. I got to the counter and was again blamed for what happened and was told I needed to pay for the services which, whatever. Then was coached about what they think I did wrong. After telling her she should have stopped when she noticed my little sister was crying and in pain, she smiled and agreed with me. Never received an apology for hurting her. I brought my 14 year old daughter in for a pedicure yesterday because she was going to homecoming that evening. My daughter is an athlete and is hard on her feet, so I paid the extra cost for calluses removal. The nail tech made her feel awful! The tech told her that her feet were the worst she's ever seen! Are you kidding me?? She kept pointing out how much calluses was on the floor as she was removing it from her feet. Really?? Who in the heck does that to a customer, let alone a teen?? That's why we paid for the calluses removal service! So apparently everyone she sees comes in with perfect feet, including those who pay to get callouses removal. I couldn't believe the level of unprofessionalism my daughter experienced here. She's had pedicures numerous pedicures in the past with no one ever having commented on her feet. The only reason I'm giving this place two stars is because the tech did a good job on the pedicure, but it wasn't worth the berating my daughter received. This place legitimately sucked. The wife dragged me in to get a pedicure with her and went along for the foot rub. They lady made me pay $26 for pretty much nothing. She hurried my wife and I out of there and did more talking than working. Since I don't get my nails painted they are supposed to give me a longer foot massage. Instead the lady just treated my feet like a animal in a petting zoo for 5 minutes and hurried to the next customer. Then the other lady kept asking my wife if she wanted designs on her toes. My wife answered "no" about 5 times and the lady still kept trying to up charge on the designs. My wife wanted the paint that changed colors with the temperature. At first the lady said they had it but then said it was too old and didn't want to use it. So the lady was pretty much lying so she could do some designs on my wife's toes and up charge her. Instead we just walked out and didn't tip them. I wish there was a dislike button, this place really sucks. If you're not a regular customer they do not treat you well at all. read more

I have been going here for a couple months because it is walking distance from my house and they have done alright. But i went in today and the lady royally messed up my acrylic nails. She put every single one on crooked, then proceded to say that she would even them out when she shaped them. They are still all slanted. I will NEVER be going back to this place again, She also cut my cutlicles till they bled and continued to laugh about it. Do not go here if you want nice looking nails. I have been a customer of Valley Nails for the last 10 years. I have had only the most positive experiences with this salon. They truly care about their customers and customer satisfaction with every visit. They are diligent in their cleanliness with their tools and the soaking tubs. They continually add new methods and technology, for instance their new pedicure chairs that have replaceable liners and the latest in gel products. Julie is my favorite nail technician because she is a perfectionist, but honestly all the nail techs here are good AND their employee retention is crazy good, which tells me the employees are happy working there and and a happy employee delivers better services. The atmosphere and the people were nice but the lady who did my nails was NOT good! She clearly didn't know what she was doing. I should have known when she clipped my nails and filed them crooked. I told her I wanted an oval shape and she made them crooked-pointy. When she clearly couldn't fix them, I picked up the nail file and did it myself. Then, when doing the French gel manicure - the white lines were crooked . . . and she had the nerve to blame it on MY nails. She then tried to grab my hand so that I couldn't look at them closely.
