When the technician arrived he advised me they are not familiar with or work on the brand of my water heater. Solution: Buy a new water heater without knowing if a repair was possible. I don't like to write negative reviews but I was quoted $1000 for a whole new toilet because the part I needed was no longer made and then I did a bit of research and the part is $23-30 at Home Depot. So I almost paid $970 more than I needed to. Luckily a coworker recommended another plumber and I got some honest fair pricing for my repair. Technician Joseph installed a pressure regulator to the main feeding my house. My water pressure was too high (90 PSI, when it's only supposed to be 50 PSI) and I had an occult leak. Turned out it was leaking right at the water meter, which we discovered when exposing the pipe. Being a yearly member saved me $300 on the cost of the work. Called Valley Plumbing for an estimate (not an emergency) to re-pipe under my manufactured home. I basically knew what the problems were and indicated someone would have to go under the house to see what would be required. They waived the $68 (or whatever it was) service fee. I believed this would be a free estimate. The tech looked down into the crawl space with his phone camera and said he needed a 2nd tech, and said that would be $545...for the 'free' estimate. Sent him on his way. Then he asked me to sign papers. I told him he didn't do anything and I would not sign papers. Won't use them. I don't appreciate surprises. read more

Great service. Prices can be a bit more than a small single plumber business but they'll always a call away and have a $7 per month service plan which allows for emergency service calls and if you're like me and got a new hot water heater installed, allows for a yearly service call where they come out annually and drain the unit and check for leaks and damages. They also replaced my water wall mounted water valves (under the sinks) with better heavier duty valves instead of just using the cheaper crap from Home Depot. The techs have all been super friendly and knowledgeable which puts you at ease. They do an inspection every time they come out and give you a run down of other repairs as well. Like I said they may not be the cheapest but you get what you pay for in trade skills business. read more

I hired Valley Plumbing in November 2022 after doing some on-line research and being pleased with the professional behavior of the technician that came out to my house the first time. He fixed the problem and then sent me recommendations on other things they could do for me. The office were always pleasant as were the different service people that came out for different issues. Unfortunately, things took a turn for the worse earlier this year. One of my toilets had a slow leak a day before I was leaving. I turned the water off and called Valley Plumbing to schedule something the next time I was out. The technician, Chancellor handled that visit and they needed to order a part to fix the insides of the toilet tank. He also said a $50 deposit was required, which I did. A month later when I was out and the appointment was scheduled Chancellor and a trainee arrived to repair the toilet. It wasn't until they were leaving that I found out how much the repairs were and I am too embarrassed to say what that was but let me say, I could have purchased at least two high-end Kohler toilets!!! After they left, I went for a walk and when I returned, saw water all over my bathroom floor!! Shutting off the valve did not help because the water was coming from the bottom of the tank where they had done the repairs. When I called Valley Plumbing to tell them, they said it would a couple of hours before anyone could come by since they were really busy. After 1pm two different technicians showed up and fixed the problem. The trainee had apparently not tightened the bolts and screws down and Chancellor did not do a secondary check!! The guys apologized and said they would talk with Chancellor and the trainee to use this as "a teaching moment". I called Valley Plumbing to have them send me the invoice since that had not been done before. I felt like an idiot and it took me several days to calm down before I called them back to speak with a supervisor. That was useless and I decided this was one very expensive lesson I won't forget any time soon. I am pleased to say I did cancel my monthly contract with them and will be using a more reputable plumbing service in the future. read more

I had a terrible experience with Valley Plumbing and will not use them again. My bathtub faucet was broken and couldn't be shut off, so I called Valley Plumbing for the first time. They responded quickly and sent a technician within about 3 hours, which I appreciated. However, when the technician arrived, he diagnosed the issue as a faulty cartridge but admitted he was not familiar with this type of Roman single-handle faucet. He even consulted his supervisor, who also seemed unfamiliar with it. Then, he told me that they would need to remove the cartridge to check if they could find a replacement, but they would charge me $176 just for taking it out--without any guarantee of finding a compatible part or knowing how much the replacement would cost. I found this completely unreasonable and asked if they could check with their office to waive this charge, especially since they weren't even sure they could fix the issue. But the technician insisted that the $176 had to be paid upfront before doing anything. Essentially, they expected me to pay for nothing. I refused and asked him to leave. This felt like a money grab--charging customers without even being sure they can fix the problem. Definitely will not be using them again! Updated 3 days later, I found a handyman who ordered the cartridge online, replaced the old one and issue fixed. Total cost $225. read more

Do not use this company unless you have money to flush down the drain. The technicians are friendly, but even they admitted that their prices are extremely high. I don't know how this company gets 3 stars. Earlier this year, I called Valley Plumbing to come to my 96 year old father's home in Palm Desert. I live out of the area and only my father and his caregiver were there. They snaked a sewer line by going to the roof and snaking through a vent line which was an added charge. Total bill was over $1,000. I agreed to pay that price even though I knew it was excessive. But we needed the job done. They prey on people in this predicament. I live in LA and plumbers I use here would be no more than half the amount, at the most. 6 months later - which was 3 months after my dad had passed away when the house had the most minimal use - the drain line backed up again. I get that 6 months might be too long to offer any full guarantee on their work, but they didn't even offer a discount. Again they said they could go to the roof for over $1,000 or remove the toilet and snake that way for almost $1,400. Absurd! I told them no way and they charged me $175 just for the "inspection" and left. Admittedly, I knew that they had a $175 call out fee, but I thought they'd give a break to do the job knowing they were there just a few months prior. A proper drain cleaning even on old pipes really should last at least a year. It's a great business model they have to charge a "nominal" fee to come out, but then throw a massive number out to do the job and force the customer to say no thank you and then they get paid to do nothing. To wrap it up, I found another plumber in the Desert who came out a couple of hours later and did the whole job properly by using the clean-out in the front of the house and only charged $345 including a senior discount he offered even though my dad had passed away. I will never call Valley Plumbing again. You shouldn't either. This is a 1 star company at best. read more

Run, and do not walk to contact Valley Plumbing. My husband and I contacted them December 2018 for a shower backup. They conducted numerous tests and concluded the leak was in our living room front entrance. They dug up our floor and determined the leak was not there and left us with a hole in our living room and did not return to fix the mess. We ended up hiring a contractor to fix the spot repair. I'm reaching out now as we experienced similar problems and it was confirmed the backup was not in the front of the house but in the back yard. read more

This was a simple drain problem. The tech did not even snake 2 other access pipes that were readily available. I want mt money back, so I will research small claims court options. Called Valley Plumbing after having used them on occasion. We had a problem with tankless water heater. The person who came (who I later found out was a supervisor) was rude, and wanted to charge over $600 to do a diagnostic. He stressed this diagnostic would only identify the problem, not include parts or fixing the problem. At least I had the sense to tell him to take a hike. Ultimately the problem was resolved later that day for half the price, and no diagnostic cost. I wouldn't use Valley plumbing again. Be wary! They will cost you a small fortune read more

If you need a trustworthy plumber, this is not it. They massively overcharge and will make you sign a clause that if they break their own equipment in your line, you're responsible for repairing their mistake and replacing their equipment. I had to pay $68 for someone to spend less than 3 mins at my property and not lift a finger. All I wanted to have done was get my main line snaked and they wanted to charge me $1.5k for it and who knows how much more if the technician made a mistake that I would have been responsible for. I have complained about a leaky faucet for several years. Every time one of their plumbers has come (and I paid for each trip) they either said there was no problem, or they couldn't find it. It's a leaky faucet! Now, I believe everyone deserves a chance to remedy a problem, because we all make mistakes. It was the best call we could've ever made. Oscar from Valley plumbing came out and along with his knowledge and professionalism is equipped with today's best equipment technology.. and for the record the person who did a survey on Valley plumbing and stated that the businesses must pay Google money to get a poor review removed? Really ? That person obviously has no clue or idea about anything. But our experience with valley plumbing from the phone call to the minute. Oscar left was absolutely 100% amazing and I personally with my small business will never call another company again when I am in need of plumbing that goes beyond my scope of understanding. This goes back some months ago. I had a clog in my toilet that I could not remove so could not flush toilet without it overflowing. I called Valley Plumbing. They unclogged toilet, but not long after, it clogged up again. A neighbor rented some equipment and unclogged toilet. He retrieved a dense little ball of fibers in the line that probably resulted from when previous owners had a washing machine connected to the same line. So Valley Plumbing did not solve the problem and did not even locate the cause. At that time, I also signed up for a monthly plumbing contract. After several months with no further plumbing problems, I called Valley Plumbing and requested that the contract be cancelled. After several calls from me, they still haven't cancelled the contract and continue to debit my checking account. Don't use their servicrs and don't sign up for anything with them. read more

A water line broke under the kitchen sink, and it was connected to an old, under-the-sink water filter, which was part of the problem. Jose and Josh arrived this morning to fix the problem. In addition to fixing the problem, they removed the old water filter and replaced the shut-off valves under the sink, which were corroded because of the poor water quality that we have here in the desert. They did a tremendous job cleaning up the plumbing nightmare under the sink. They even polished the water faucet after making sure the screens were washed out and clean. I was very excited that our water pressure in the kitchen is finally normal!!! They were extremely conscientious about our home, and they wore shoe protectors to protect the flooring! I had a hose bib that I could not remove the hose from, so I called to have the hose bib replaced. The plumber came out looked at the bib, then told us he would give us a full review of our plumbing issues. We walked the house and listened to what he had to say. So replacing three hose bibs, placing a trap on the gas line to the water heater, and replacing 9 controls for each sink, toilet, washer at a cost of $1800.00. We decided to just do the 3 hose bibs and the gas trap for the water heater that was bid at around $800. He had no hose bibs on his truck so we went to the plumber warehouse. He did the work but could not replace the original issue hose bib so I said stop before you break it and we have to open the exterior wall. So we ended up doing 2 hose bibs and the gas trap for the water heater. I had explained I wanted the hose bibs to be replaced with 1/4 turn ball valve, never was I told it would be replace with a 5" straight bib. So when it it turned on it shoots straight out full force, not really what I wanted but they were already installed. The final bill was 659.81. My issue is the work I needed done wasn't done, the price was extremely expensive for the work that was done and now I have to go to the hardware store to replace the bibs that were installed with down facing bibs ( parallel to the house wall) instead of shooting straight away from the wall parallel to the ground. I wish I could even give this place 2 stars, but I just can't. It was such a headache to deal with them that it just isn't possible to give them that much credit. Cliff notes: Didn't finish job, let alone START the job. Shocked at the exorbitant pricing and lack of professionalism Full story: The two plumbers showed up two and half hours late. Upon looking at what I had contracted them to do, they immediately stated that they didn't have time to complete the job because they had a company party they needed to attend. Instead of starting the work, they went outside and sat in their van for over an hour. I got a call from their dispatch saying they didn't have access to the 1 toilet upstairs, which is why they were outside (mind you I had several other things they could have been doing and they had access to the upstairs toilet all along...) Now, let's talk money. As other reviewers have mentioned, the quotes are exorbitant. $1,600 to remove one toilet and a dishwasher, install two toilets and the dishwasher. $362/set each toilet. I hired a different plumber who did all that, plus fixed laundry machine hook ups (2x), installed washer/dryer and repaired toilet valve for $680. Such a rip off it was comical. Ultimately they did the right thing and comped a toilet install so I would at least have a functioning toilet over the weekend since their incompetent plumbers didn't have time to do (or even start) the job they showed up to do. I appreciate the kind offer, but sadly it wasn't enough to make the experience worth while..or warrant adding a second star. They also agreed to refund the previous charges (of which I haven't seen any sort of refund almost a month later). I've now followed up with them 2 times and filed a grievance with my credit card company. To this date, I have asked for a copy of the estimate and work to be performed at minimum 3 times and have yet to receive any documentation. Update. They claim no mention of a refund, so I'm out almost $800 to remove a toilet. Absolute hard pass on this company. It's straight up a fraud. Normally I would give Valley Plumbng five stars. We have used them before and I've always been happy with their service. They are professional and knowledgeable, and always willing to educate the customer. They are a little bit pricey but I don't think they gouge their customers and I'm always satisfied with the results. I have referred many family and friends to Valley Plumbing. Today however, I was disappointed because we waited a day for David to come out and work on our fire pit. David finally said twice that he's a supervisor and an estimator and he doesn't have all the tools and parts on his van and generally speaking, a technician comes behind him to do the work. So, David was unable to complete our job. This left us unsatisfied. This is the first time using Valley Plumbing that we were unhappy. I don't think that's a good business model. 1. Make the customer wait a day or two for David to come out to diagnose and estimate, then 2. Make the customer wait again (for how long?) for a technician to come and make the repair. I would suggest that Valley Plumbing either fully stock David's van, or advise the customer ahead of time that they are sending someone out who cannot make repairs. read more

Totally agree with Lisa's post 17 days ago. Be careful with this place!! Recent reviews are mostly negative!!! I scheduled an appointment a week ago for a specific date. On the day of the appointment, I spoke to a young, very inexperienced women (shame on management for doing such poor traning). She verified that my tech was coming between 11:30-12:30 as I had scheduled. We rushed to get the faucet after driving 120 miles in a rush to meet the tech. At 12:15 I called to verify again, but this time I was told I didnt have an appointment!! At some point during all this chaos, Bree called to say I was scheduled for after hours service the next day!! The argumentative women in scheduling, said there was nothing she could do. And that the women I spoke too didnt know what she was doing. Offered a $75 credit. That was a slap in my face. After-hour is very expensive. How is it I had an appointment when I called at 8:30 am but when I called again at 12:15 that day, the appointment had disappeared. Very shady. A manager could help me but I would gave to wait 5 days before he came back to the office! Not making this up. All my attempts to get this resolved and have them honor my original appt and pricing failed completely. If you need a plumber to show up, call another plumber. Truly awful. read more

Office staff making the appointment were very nice. Plumber got to the house tried to tell me that the hose bib outside was stripped? Informed me the repair price would be $698.00 . I told him to get off my property they still charged 68 service fee. My neighbor bought the part for 20 dollars and repaired it for me. I am a realtor and I have NEVER seen a company this bad. I told the serviceman I could purchase TWO new toilets with all the parts for less than their estimate.
