I needed truck and storage facility to empty my elderly mother's apartment. The movers had already arrived at my mom's condo. And, I arrived at Center Ridge Storage to pick up U-Haul at 10:55am. Parked in front, only parking area available and went to door. There were 2 parking spaces and another SUV was in the other spot. The lights inside were on, the Open sign was lit, but door was locked and no answer after repeated knocking. Called phone number and no answer but left voicemail. Called phone number on door for after-hours but it was just the U-Haul main number and all representatives were busy, so put on hold. Just hung up. By now, was in somewhat of a panic wondering what to do, were they going to show up, where could I get another truck from, etc., because the movers had arrived, and I was being charged although not there. Around 11:10am, a car pulled up and a lady got out passenger side, and then car left. She was very nice and explained that she had to run an errand. I went ahead and reserved truck and she gave me keys.Then they told me I needed to move my car, explained only would be gone an hour, didn't matter move car on the side, in the back - somewhere. So, not only am I really late by having to wait for them to show up, now I have to move my car, and mind you, we are not talking about designated customer parking. So, I go down the path, past the storage units and the 10-15 U-Haul trucks to a wet grassy muddy area where I saw some trailers and I leave my car there. Then I proceed to walk back around the corner and down the way and to locate the "mystery" truck I had been given the keys to. When I found it, I requested another truck, this one was literally the worst on the lot. I requested from the lady a better truck. So, she goes in and a man emerges from the building said he was the "Owner". Said because I was angry, which by now I was, he did not feel "comfortable" working with me and said he would be more than happy to take the keys back and cancel my contract, and held out his hand. So, that was his business solution. Gave him keys back, told him forget about my renting a storage unit, and I would never use them again. Walked back down the way and around the corner to muddy, grassy place I parked, and pulled to front. When I went in to get proof of cancellation, he was smiling,holding a pink paper, my In-town Rental Reversal paper. Hadn't smiled at me any other time, but now???Right when I opened the door to go out, he said very chipper "have a nice day". What a stupid, disgusting customer experience he provided. I'm a business owner too and have customers, and that's not how you treat customers. So, I ended up renting U-Haul from Irrigation Consultants on Center Ridge, used Valley Storage on Lorain, both in N. Ridgeville. They treated me like a person and a valued customer, not like an enemy. Excellent service they gave, they even apologized for the bad service of Center Ridge Storage although they had NOTHING to do with that. And, my movers (Little Help Movers/ALH) when they heard about it did not charge me for the 1.5 hours it took me to get back with the truck. So, because of these other businesses I did have a good day after all. But I will never forget the despicable service I received at Center Ridge Storage, and won't ever try to use them again for anything. I can do bad by myself.

SCAM! The GM Tara…read moreis incredibly rude. I had questions I sent via email. She called to Respond. Always from Different numbers. I don't pick up calls from numbers I don't know. She claimed she couldn't answer the questions via email it wasn't allowed and against policy. I asked her to leave a message answering the questions because when I called the facility no one answers and I won't pick up her call as an unknown number. I could barely understand her with all the "ums" every other word. I'm shocked this is a general manager wirh such poor communication skills. We finally were able to move The stuff to the rented unit. I get there and had rented a 10x5 unit. It is 9.5x4!!!!! I email complaining because once again no one answers the phone. I also ask for a price adjustment as the unit is not the size advertised. We don't have room for a few things we planned on storing there now. She responds via email (remember she had told me it was against policy to answer emails yet.....) Her email she stated we will not make a price adjustment it is construction standard for the unit to be off by a half of foot. And we Can vacate the unit if desired! No refund for what was already paid. Plus what we paid for movers and the U-Haul to move to the pre-rented unit based on the dimensions they supply! I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and the AG of Ohio as this is false advertising and bate and switch all very illegal.
