We have been using this veterinary clinic for over 5 years now. They cared for our previous schnauzer and now care for our current schnauzer. Most recently we had to have bladder surgery done due to an impacted bladder. The stones had pretty much shut down her ability to urinate. My Tiffy was in terrible pain 3-4 weeks after a dental and extractractions. There was bloodwork, 6 xrays, extra time added at 15 minute intervals, for about $3000. I took her to my vet in Tucson (Ajo Vet). They found that she had an infection and possible abscess on left side jaw. She needed more extractions and vet found a broken tooth and a root that was not removed from previous extraction which most likely was the cause for her pain for half the price of Valley Verde. She is so much better now. Their prices are ridiculous, add extra charge for same day visit. My wallet is not going back there!!!! Senior citizen ripoff. read more

Beware, took my dog in for treatment. She had heart disease and was on 1 heart med. The vet did xray and blood work $900 Later. Plus my pup was prescribed meds to get rid of fluids. 3 days later she dies. My question is being a trained vet couldn't she look at xrays and previous xray and say I think your pup is at the end of her life and safe me $900! It isn't about money but being honest with people with fur babies! read more

Cheated me of over $1000 by redundant testing and "treatments" that did absolutely nothing to help my dog. After the 1st course of "treatments" totally failed they charged me "emergency" rates, double their already high rate, for the second course of treatments, same as the 1st course, which also did absolutely nothing except take my money, I complained about their expensive but useless service, and they just canceled my dog's appointment without notice. even though I paid for all my dog's appointments up front. Calling in to get help is a nightmare, with some pretty rude and nasty people answering the phone. This is the worst vet operation I have ever seen. They did absolutely nothing to help my poor dog, and I am ashamed for my dog's sake that I ever took her to them. This bunch cares nothing about your pet. I just moved here 3wks ago from Texas. I recently lost my diabetic kitty to Cancer and Diabetes. My other cat's kidney failure took a back seat because of everything I was dealing with. My Sparkle has been throwing up since 2024!!! She was diagnosed with kidney failure. I was told it was because of her kidneys. I needed to make an immediate appointment for labs to check her kidney function. Dr. Willams suggested 2 abdominal X-rays $489! Liquid Gabapentin ( Elura) $72, regular Gabapentin $32, senior labs $380 and Sub Q fluids at $81!!! I was looking at a $890 bill. I told her no Xrays, I could get her Gabapentin at Costco for $11, also my previous vets only charged $32 vet tech visit for sub Q fluids. I brought her in last Friday in the afternoon. Appointment was at 2pm. Was running late. She told me since it was later in the day and Friday. She would call me Monday with results. Well it was 1pm and I call them. Gal at the desk said Dr Williams doesn't work on Monday. Are you kidding me??!!! I told her, why didn't she tell me this? She never told me she was off on Monday. So now I have to sit another day worrying about. My poor cat is throwing up 4-8x a day! I needed answers. I will NOT be taking her back here. I totally understand the 3.5 rating. VVV fitted us in on a holiday. We are from Flagstaff but spending time in southern Arizona. Our senior dog Gracie was lethargic and not eating as usual. The tech and doctor treated us and our dog with understanding and compassion. Her physical of our dog was complete and sensitive. She prescribed two medications that were immediately effective, and two days later the clinic called to see how Gracie was doing. We were extremely pleased with the way we and our dog were treated. Reasonably priced. We will certainly returned as needed. read more

She demanded all of the previous records from my pet's former vet, and didn't even focus on the main concern that we came in for. I brought one of my dogs in to see her for her eyes, and she didn't even think to check for an eye infection. She just tried to sell us her super-expensive allergy medication for dogs. I don't like the receptionist, either. She is bossy and rude. I will never come to this place again. read more

I called a week ahead of appointment to get records from previous vet, I even called the same day in the morning to make sure records were there... they were not. Only had partial records so there was no real attempt to get complete records on my behalf. I had to do it myself. Vet treated me like it was my fault the records weren't complete. When I tried four separate times to make sure the records g Vet had rude bedside manner...didn't even touch or examine my dog in front of me. They did everything in the back so I have no idea how she treated my dog. The bill was bigger than the signed estimate and half of my needs were not met as well. I had to raise my hand when I wanted to ask a question like a child. Will not recommend or return. However the assistant was lovely and made the best of it. read more

My poor little Maltese/Shitzu puppy had something called Cherry Eye. The Vet that we took her too said they would fix it and then put her under for surgery, changed me $1000, and said don't sometimes worry it may come back, but if it does, then we will fix it. I was really concerned as it meant she had to be sedated and also wear a ring around her neck and in general, went through a lot of pain. When I researched it, and it said that she was not in pain from the Cherry and that this was normal, but the dog could live with it and that it may go away on its own. But they lied to me and told me the Cherry eye was dangerous to her and that I needed to get it done immediately. When I questioned the research, I did. I was told it was incorrect and that for my dog to be safe that the operation was needed immediately or she was in danger. So because I cared about my dog and they knew it, I, unfortunately, believed them. Then almost immediately after the operation, the cherry eye came back worse. Since they promised that if that happened, I wasn't mad and took her back in only to be told that she would have to go through the surgery again and that it would be another $1000. Additionally, the Cherry Eye got worse after this operation. This so-called Vet is a complete scam and refuses to fix when they screwed up in the first place without making me pay another $1000. They don't even have enough respect to have the Vet speak with me directly. Also, have the Vet directly talk with its don't yet have the customers I hate to think how many animals have been directly hurt by them. They are dangerous and do not care about a little puppies pain. The worst of the worst! read more

I have been taking my 3 dogs to VVV for the past 6 years that I have lived in Green Valley. I have no idea where to start so I am going to just jump in. I have a female German Shepherd, Heidi, and a female mutt, Zoey. My eldest male German Shepherd, Otto was 11 and just passed away on Friday at Valley Verde Vet. They had known him for 6yrs. They were beyond kind and compassionate. I called ahead of us arriving and they had a nice quiet room ready for us with a nice bed with a cozy blanket on the floor that my husband, myself and Otto could all lay on. They gave him a sedative and we stayed with him and and comforted him and then they gave him the final medicine and stayed with us to let us know when he passed. They let us be with him as long as we needed after his passing. They were so respectful and kind. They also made us a clay imprint of his paw print. They are such loving people, from the front desk ladies to the techs and nurses all the way to the doctors. They have been taking care of my "free" mutt from the pound, too. Ever since we got her she has required special care. Zoey turned out to be a diabetic and has required special stays to have her blood checked. She even has had to have surgeries after a Javelina attack and 2 tumors removed. Yet, she LOVES going there and howels in the lobby until all her "friends" come out to say hello to her. Luckily, Heidi, has been pretty healthy. So she has not had to go except for regular check ups. But all in all she doesn't mind her trips there either. This is THE PLACE for my fur babies care. read more

We started taking our doxie to Valley Verde a couple months ago for a sore on his foot. Very soon after we noticed he was drinking a lot and peeing a lot. So we took him back for a more detailed exam and found out he had diabetes. So within 45 days he was diagnosed with diabetes, cataracts and glaucoma. He also lost his spirit and spunk. Some of the medicine he was given would have been 'for life' and it got to the point where we didn't see any improvement in him at all. I asked about euthanasia, which is one option that would certainly end our dogs pain and suffering, and this is the option we picked. They took excellent care of our dog during the procedure everyone was kind and gentle and caring. Dr.Williams was amazing. The front desk, the techs, everyone! This office, without a doubt, earned all 5 stars and a loyal customer as well. read more

Definerly the worst vet I have ever been to. The staff is cold and borderline rude! They have very little interest in your questions, seem bored. They gave me an estimate for teeth cleaning for my dog of 800.00 and a 100 dollars for each extraction, it would be cheaper to send the vet to the Bahamas for a week! They ripped me off on the final bill. She wanted to due a blood panel and the price was outrages and I said no and she only deducted a portion of the cost from the bill. Being charged for something they didn't due even a portion is just greed. I took my dog to this vet and they charged me $800 for xrays and bloodwork. Both of which were negative. Then they recommended specialty work... Every step of the way they recommended the most expensive treatment. And when I told them I would take my dog and get a second opinion they made me sign a waiver and got an attitude. This facility made me wait 30-60 minutes just to be seen even with an appointment. Then each visit was a minimum of 2 hours. I left this place irate because of how much I was charged, how long I waited and how I was treated. On top of the concern I had for my pet I didn't need more stress caused by a vet clinic. They prey on concerned pet owners. This facility is horrible. Take your dog elsewhere. read more

The BEST Veterinarian services in the area!!!!! We took our 2 year old boxer in for symptoms of Kennel cough. After a full exam, they requested us to get some blood work and xrays done to find the actual cause of our sick pup. Turns out she has Valley Fever. Valley Verde Vets have been so extremly helpful with helping us get the treatment she needs to get better. This was hard news for our family, but with the knowledge Dr. Clark and her staff provide, I have high hopes that our pup will be back to good eventually. Valley Fever is not an overnight fix, so having this team of doctors and staff by our side, I am hopeful. I would high recommend this place to friends and family. read more

I have used Valley Verde for the past 8 years. We are here seasonally and don't use a vet all that often, but my pets are our children and we will do anything to make sure they are happy and healthy. On my last visit, I brought in our 8 year old female blue in for an exam. They found an ear infection, did a culture and gave us some meds. Perfect $114.14, I was okay with that. They wanted me to come back for a re-check in a week.... I sent my husband, after waiting for 30 minutes in the exam room for a 3 minute exam, they took another culture (which I didn't know they were planning to do) and charged me another $71. I'm sorry I assumed a re-check wouldn't be another office visit! Love Dr. Williams, but the costs are ridiculous. Sadly, I'm looking for another vet. read more

Worst experience with a Vet ever! Dr Nichol might like animals, but she clearly does not like people. Does not return calls, and totally expects her office staff, who say they are "just like RN's", to communicate with the pet owner. Note to office staff: If you are not RN's, you should not promote yourself as "just like RN's"... That would be a criminal act.. Besides being misrepresented, they are rude, dismissive and very, very poorly equipped intellectually to be discussing clinical issues and actually trying to represent what Dr. Nichol MAY have told them to tell me. I would not recommend Valley Verde or Dr Nichol to anyone. My little pup is now being well cared for in the area by a Vet with great communication skills, and an office that is professional and not misrepresenting themselves. read more

XORBITANT PRICES - I was referred to this veterinary clinic by a friend sadly. To give you an idea of the overcharges I called some other vets in the area for the same procedures, here are the comparisons: Exam at VV is $56, other vet is $45. Urine analysis at VV is $78.50 at other vet is $30.50. Urine Cortisol Creatinine test at VV is $157.88 at other vet is $45.00. Cost of abdominal ultrasound at VV is $535.00 at other vet it is $300. I don't know about you, but I am not made of money and cannot justify her outrageous pricing. Not to mention that she wanted to run other diagnostics that were absolutely not necessary, I won't even go into those costs. read more

She and the entire staff are incredibly professional and courteous. Even our scaredy-cat littlest dog likes her. She has seen us through routine care and cancer with compassion and courtesy. All Veterinarians are friendly and explain everything to you, Vet techs are great, office staff friendly and personable. We taken in our cats and they did a through examination and were very good with our pets. We had one that had problems for a couple years and the exam was better then the other vets she had been to. The x-rays were shown to us with explanations for what they thought was wrong. We are impressed with the office and will continue to take our pets to them. read more

She isn't trying to sell you things that you don't need either, unlike some of the vets in Green Valley. She diagnosed my Beagle with a kidney tumor and told us there was nothing she could do. She told us that "when she stops wagging her tail, you will know when to bring her in". Well, that happened a couple of weeks ago and Frank and Tammy were great, as I couldn't help the tears from flowed down my face. We recently moved to Green Valley Arizona from Mesa. We have a 13 year old male chihuahua that we take in once a year to get his teeth cleaned, all his shots, nails trimmed, etc. A neighbor recommended Valley Verde so I called to make an appointment. When I called the man who answered said that they couldn't schedule any of that without having the dog first examined. I said I would bring in his records and he said that wouldn't be necessary as they would call our previous vet and have them faxed. I scheduled an appointment and brought him in and that is when everything went downhill. The first thing the assistant told me is they didn't have his records yet. They (the veterinarian and assistant) then proceeded to spend the entire exam trying to sell us every possible service that could be done. And - the costs were way more than anything we have every experienced before. Back in Mesa it typically cost usually somewhere between $250 and $300 to have his exam, teeth cleaning (including anesthesia), nails trimmed, anal gland cleaned and shots. Now they quoted us in excess of $1100 and that was before any shots, nails trimming or gland cleaning. We declined everything, paid the $52 exam fee and left - by the way the vet spent maybe 3 minutes examining him - the whole time she was going over all the (costly) procedures she wanted to do.
