We have 30ft ceilings so I usually order our tree as commercial lots don't have the size I'm looking for. This year our schedule was a bit nutty so I missed the usual window for ordering. We recently moved to San Diego this year and we wanted to get a real, but tiny christmas tree to put in our apartment. I stumbled upon Valley View Christmas Trees online and I HAD to check them out! Everyone was so helpful and super nice and they had a wide range of christmas trees to choose from which we loved. It was so hard to choose!! We ended up getting a 3-4 ft tall tree and it was the perfect size for our tiny apartment and it is still in perfect condition considering we got it back at the end of November. We will definitely be getting our Christmas trees from here in the future and hopefully as we move to a bigger place, the bigger the christmas tree we can get!(: read more

I try to support small business as much as possible, but these prices are pretty ridiculous. There's ZERO pricing signage up around the lot, so it wasn't until the lot employee was cutting and netting our tree that the cashier said it was $150 for our 7' tree. No different quality from what I've seen at Lowe's or Costco. They also charged extra for netting, something I've NEVER paid extra for. And while I know that lot employees try hard to keep the place clean, I went home with soaked shoes as they were hosing down the pavement while we were browsing. read more

Lots of options on trees but much higher priced than Lowe's or HD by $20-$40 per tree. Also failed to mention that their netting machine was broken and out for at least a few more weeks so our trip home and into house wasn't as pleasant with needles everywhere. My son saved up 24 dollars for a tree so we stopped here to look for a tree. My son wanted to go look by himself to find his tree for his little brothers. All i know is he came out with this huge tree and told me he has money for decorations.. I don't know who my son spoke with but they blessed us with a beautiful tree. We stopped in looking for a 5-6 foot Noble Fir and were told they were expecting a delivery within an hour. We were told the price was $50. When we returned the same employee who told us about the delivery helped us. He was very nice and walked around showing us where to find what we were looking for. He cut open a few trees for us to look at. The first tree was closer to 7 feet but were told if we wanted it he would sell it to us for $50. We passed on this tree and he helped us find another one that we liked. "This one really is 6 foot" we were told. We went to the counter to pay as the employee who was helping us put the tree into our stand. The woman behind the counter said the truck that had just come in did not have any 5-6 foot trees on it, only 6-7 foot trees and this tree was $70. I told the woman that we had come in twice looking for a 5-6 foot tree and this was shown to us as a 5-6 foot tree and that this is a poor way to operate a business. She told me that they will have no problem selling the tree to someone else and there would be no budging on the price. It is always nice being told that your business is not important because another sucker will be coming in right behind you. I guess its easier to get away with shady business practices when you will be packed up and gone within 2 weeks. If your pricing is not flexible and you are going to measure your trees with zero flexibility on size, let your employees know not to make any deals out on the sales floor. Back to the Home Depot tree lot for me next year. read more

In looking for a 9-10 ft tree, I started my search at Home Depot. For 9-10ft Noble Firs (the larger end of the spectrum at Home Depot), the price was around $130. They had a fair amount of trees, but a vast majority had large brown areas and appeared very dry. Additionally, instead of having trees standing around for you to look at, the trees were careless thrown into piles or laid onto the ground. I decided to check out Valley View right around the corner in the Sprouts parking lot to see what they had to offer. The first thing you'll notice is that all of the trees here are on stands, allowing you to see the tree in all of its full and relaxed glory. A station exists where they can "frost" your tree, to make it look snow-covered. I skipped it, because there's no way it doesn't make a huge mess. If you're looking for a big tree, you've got to come here. I price checked a massive ~15ft tree, and it was around $280. Not cheap, but not outrageous. Again, my search was for something a little smaller, so I spent some time finding one around 9-10 ft, which tended to be on the small side of trees here (though there were a fair number of smaller 6-7ft trees as well. I ended up going with a 9ft Noble Fir and paid around $110. The tree was marked 7-8ft, so I saved a little money by paying the lower size bracket. The tree IS actually 9ft, though. Additionally, its fresh, healthy, full and round, and makes San Diego look a little more like Christmas. All in all great experience. The folks working are all very kind and friendly and make the entire experience a great time. TLDR; Valley View Christmas Tree Farms has excellent trees that are fresh and green for prices comparable and sometimes even better than the big box stores. read more

Well, we called AND we stopped by to get the price of flocking. Chris said $5/foot and no problem if we bring our own tree. BUT when we brought our own tree, the lady would not honor Chris's price because they don't like flocking trees that are not purchased there. Instead, she charged us $50 to flock our little 5' tree. She even gave us flack when we asked that the tree get put in water for the 12 hrs it takes to dry. What happened to customer service? Somehow I lost my happy holidays spirit & we won't be using Valley View next year. read more

This is THE BEST Christmas tree lot in San Diego. Every tree is free standing IN WATER so it's both very fresh and you can see exactly how it will look when you get it home. No more taking it out of a net and holding it up. And, no more having it lie around in a lot for who knows how long just getting dried out. Every tree is in water! And, Brian was super helpful. This place and the owner get two thumbs up!! I went to Valley View Christmas Tree Farms to get free tree clippings and I walked away with two FREE trees. When I asked for the clippings the owner James pointed me to a huge batch of fresh clippings and said I could take as much as I wanted. Then he asked me what I was going to do with them. I told them I was going to use them along with gingerbread houses to decorate tables at a holiday party. Then he asked me if I had a Christmas tree--yes, a fake one. Then he said he'd like to donate two trees. I was floored by his instant interest in the party and the organizations I represent and his generous spirit. We agreed I'd pick up the tree the next morning. When I arrived, James was ready with his crew and provided two beautiful fresh 6-7ft trees. The guys quickly loaded the trees into the back of my car, shook my hand and wished me a good time at the party. Who does that nowadays? Apparently Valley View Christmas Tree Farms does. The trees were given to two families that didn't have trees yet. What a way to help spread the holiday spirit. Thank you James and company! Incredibly grateful for your generosity. read more
