It's a nice store, and the staff is friendly and helpful....when you can find someone. They don't have as many employees like Home Depot. But I think the thing that kind of annoyed me was the employee who showed me where I could find something. He then proceeded to ask if he could ask me some questions, which I agreed. He started to ask me about my electricity bill and how the cost may increase more in the future. I realized where he was going and before he could continue, I said I was a renter, but he persisted. He: Do you rent from family or private? Me: Private. I never see the property owner. This shut down the questions, cause I think he wanted to try to sell me solar or some other energy efficient saving do-hickey. Luckily, the guy in the paint department created my color and said have a nice evening and sent me on my way. Again, the staff is friendly! Probably won't come back too soon. I visited Lowe's to purchase two bathroom vanities and was told they could handle both the products and installation as a one-stop solution. Since February, I've been trying to move forward but have received little to no assistance from the team assigned to my project. I paid a $40 nonrefundable deposit, and the installation company came out to take measurements (they were lovely, by the way, but said I have to go through Lowe's for everything). Since then, despite repeated follow-ups, I have not been able to get the help I need to select the correct vanities and proceed with the installation. This should have been a straightforward project, and I'm ready to pay and move forwardbut Lowe's team has been unresponsive. This is only based on online purchase and delivery . I ordered a couple things from Lowe's for same day delivery a picture arrived that was not my house or my package. I left instructions for delivery driver to call me since my house was gated but they didn't and also Del to wrong address . I contacted customer service they said I would have resolution to problem in 24 hrs . Well 4 days later and many phones calls to this store and I couldn't get through to someone live I finally did and they fixed the problem . Come in here because I know it's better to shop here than Home Depot (at a corporation level). However it's really hard to find anyone to help you. I've tried coming in after work, or later in the evenings or on weekends. On weekends there's people working but also lots of people in need of help, and during the week it's hard to find someone. I was in there for paint one evening, there was no one at the paint counter, but once I asked for help at the front desk they did send someone over. When I visit a Lowe's Store, be it in Santee or San Diego in Mission Valley, it is usually to visit the Garden Center. There is plenty of handcapped parking available for customers. Today I went to buy 16 by 16 red stone stepping stones for my garden in La Mesa. I have a number of these stepping stones in my garden right now, but I wanted to add five more stepping stones. Unfortunatly, there were only a few red 16 by 16 inch stepping stones. Moreover, the few that remained on the shelves were all broken---that is why they had been rejected by other customers. However, I did find stones in another size that I bought today. There were also some very cute concrete bunny rabbits that I almost bought. They had tall ears. I have one rabbit and I thought two rabbits wouldd be great! read more

Lowe's Blows! I called ahead to confirm that my curbside order would be ready for pickup on the same day. The employee told me, "Yep, it's all picked and ready to go." Great. I told them I'd be there in 20 mins. When I arrived and called for pickup, I was told, "Oh, your order isn't picked yet. Let me get started on that - give me 10 mins" At that point, I was already annoyed that my time had been wasted. After waiting around for 30 minutes, I finally went inside to see what was going on. That's when another employee told me, "Oh, he only started picking it about 5 min ago." So not only was I given completely inaccurate information over the phone, but nobody seemed to have any idea what was actually happening with my order. I ended up canceling it altogether. This store is a joke. I'll gladly spend my money at local hardware stores, ACE, or even Home Depot before dealing with this level of incompetence again. I want to commend this Lowe's for not only having a fantastic stock of hardware, garden AND clothing options, but also truly living up to its name as a community center. A few weeks ago there was a local concert at snapdragon stadium, and members of the community came out to see what they could from behind the store. Instead of kicking us off property, staff simply made sure nobody was misbehaving and allowed us all to enjoy the show. I will be returning to this Lowe's whenever i can. Made the trek to accept del. At MIDNIGHT of 5/25 received an email that NEW delivery would be June 9th. No call - no apologies and have been unable to talk to anyone about this. I was able to email Lowe's cust. service but there has been no response. 6/9 - Another 2 hr. drive and fingers crossed washer and dryer delivered. Sierra in Appliances is an absolute GEM!!! Not only is she super knowledgeable about brands, sizes, and product lifespans, she's also ridiculously kind and patient. I was in a total spiral. My fridge door didn't open all the way (even though my contractor said it would), and the washer/dryer I picked wasn't going to work either. It felt like a huge mess! Sierra handled everything. Returns? Done. Better product options? Found. She stayed on the phone with me for over an hour!!! walking me through choices and prices, then arranged a new pickup + delivery in one go just days later. This level of care is something I'd expect from a luxury appliance store, not a big box retailer. Honestly, LOWES, PLEASE give this woman a raise! She should be running the whole department. Do not use Lowe's for installation services! I purchased a kitchen appliance package online and free installation was included. I checked all the correct boxes for installation on the website and even asked my husband to review it before I placed the order because the website was not the easiest to maneuver and was vague. Example- "you may need the following items for installation." I called right after placing the order to confirm the installation, they said everything was set except the over the stove microwave was not included in the deal. It would be an additional $129 to install and it would be installed on a different day. Seems shady to have to pay for installation but ok. I agreed and moved on. The items were delivered today but they said installation was not included. I called customer service and they said they couldn't do anything, and to go to the store to resolve the issue. I went to the store and they said, no, you need to call customer service. I called again, and they repeated that the store would have to handle it. I asked how much it would cost to install a gas stove and dishwasher. He said about $700. So much for the free installation I was offered and the main reason for choosing Lowe's. They placed me on hold to call the store, but came back on the line to tell me someone from the store would call me back. I'm still waiting four hours later for a call back. I decided to use Yelp to find someone to install and they will be here within the hour and for a way better price than $700. Pricey lesson learned. Never again will I go to Lowe's. read more

Love it or hate it - I think Lowe's is purposely complicated so that you'll harass their employees to find things. It's a really clever way of showing you the friendliness of their staff while irritating you at the same time. Really Lowe's is pretty comparable in price with other stores but ultimately the cleanliness and organization and people here just make the value so much more than dollars. There is always have so much more of a selection here than anywhere else. On 12/27/2025, we purchased a new refrigerator from the Lowe's in Mission Valley. The sales persons did not inform us of any installation requirements, but sold us yet another water line for the refrigerator. The following day, the installation team arrived and stated that the water line could not run through cabinets because the company was concerned about leaks. We stated that we would assume responsibility since this has never been an issue. We offered to connect the water line ourselves under the technician's supervision and he agreed. They brought in the refrigerator, plugged it in, and put the newly purchased waterline inside the refrigerator stating that he would be right back. They went to their truck and left! I called the company, Next Final Mile Home Delivery for Lowes whereby staff stated that same policy was from Lowes. Nearly 50% of all older homes were built in San Diego prior to the 1990s; many of which probably upgraded refrigerators and simply had a waterline ran through the cabinets. If Lowes has policies in place to limit appliance installation to half of San Diego, then the sales people need to ask when homes were built; ensure that sales staff state all of Lowes' regulations for appliance installation; and offer a waiver for leaks beyond 12 inches of the refrigerator. The poor customer service, partial installation, and drop & run tactics simply ensures that we will not use Lowes again. read more

I wouldn't normally write a big box store, but I've been here twice in the past week and for the most part received excellent service. I was there yesterday with 5 quarts of paint that I was trying to check out with at self check out. I managed to knock one over and paint spilled everywhere. Andre, the employee who was working self checkout, was so friendly and so helpful and did not give me even the tiniest bit of grief for making a giant mess that he now had to clean up. I was super grateful for his calm demeanor and professionalism. The one star off is from last weekend. I needed help cutting a piece of foam board. I found someone who said he would help, but that he needed a few minutes. I said that was fine. As I sat there waiting for the next 45 minutes, I had four different employees come by and asked me if I needed something since I was just standing there. I told them what I needed, but no one else was capable of helping. However, two of them did go and try to find the guy and both the times said it would just be a few more minutes. I finally gave up bought a saw and cut the board in half on my own in the parking lot. There should be more than one person in the store who is capable of cutting a piece of foam board if that one person isn't going to be available for quite a long time they should just let the customer know. But for the most part, super friendly and attentive employees. It's also a very clean and well organized store read more

Article scanned my items and then walked away with no word and left me standing there for 10 minutes. Jesse the manager was no help either and delegated it to another incompetent person. 25 mins completely wasted. Then went to go by an item that is listed on their website and tells you an aisle and bay but it's completely wrong and they have no such items. So much time wasted. read more

LOWES 10/11/2025 Customer service: I like Lowes, I think they have good quality and are better organized than HD the competitor. I say that and then I look for products online, and go to the store and am told that I cannot purchase, pay for or connect the online options in the store? What? I am not of the generation who wants to remotely do business, I want to see and know what I am purchasing and with larger in home purchases I would like the verification and quality, assurance of paperwork and follow through. Recently I went to my local store and when I left, I found a jacket in a shopping cart, it was a nice jacket with no ID. It was dark, the store was closing and I did not know where to return the jacket. I took it home and have tried to contact the store to report this to lost and found. It has taken me almost 2 two hours to connect with the store to report this and after calling the store directly, letting the phone ring with no answer at least 5 times, was forced to call the 800 some poor guy, who may have been in India, answered and I asked for help, he then had to call the store and was then able to report this to lost and found. In today's world where so much is being done "remotely," with AI which is not helpful, compassionate or real, with phone trees, cell phones and internet we are forgetting how to be human and the courtesy and simple ethics of what is good, what is right and what is decent. We are decent and honest people who want the best for each other. If I go to a store, I would like the service people to know about the product they are selling. I would like them to know what works and how they can accommodate my needs. I would like the store I go to-to answer my questions and to stand behind the quality of product they are selling. Selling is simply educating a customer to what the options are, giving them information on what they came into find and then making it effective in the way they are going to spend their hard earned money. If I call a store I expect a "real," person to help me. I expect that "real," person to be knowledgeable and polite and I expect they are being paid well enough to go the extra mile for the company they are representing. To the "officers," who sit in the towers of these "mega stores" you might notice with the loss of customer services, lackluster agent knowledge, and ineffective follow through of service your bottom line is suffering. If you want your customers to use your services, it would be wise to actually offer "real, people who know the products and have more than a few hours training in what customer service actually is.
