Review for Cleaning Supplies Selection This home depot had every scent in mostly every cleaning supply. I purchase OdoBan every week. I wash my soiled loved ones clothing which are urine soaked. I also was my kiddos athletic clothing which reek. But this HD had six scents to select. I didn't even know citrus existed. Therefore, I will likely come here because the other HD's have 1-2 scents. I then looked at the pine sol and fabuloso scents and again more than I've seen at Walmart, Target or other HD's. Thank you for choices. I paid extra for a scheduled delivery window from 6 AM to 10 AM, and the experience completely missed the mark. At 9:34 AM, I received a notification that the delivery was "attempted." The problem is, no one actually showed up. Our campus gates were fully open, there was no delivery truck, no call, and no contact with security. This was not a missed delivery on my end, it was a failure to deliver. After contacting customer care, I was referred back to the store, which turned into a frustrating cycle. I spoke with multiple people in this order: operator, Eric, operator again, Asani, then was sent to the service desk where no one answered. After that, I was transferred three more times, placed on hold, and eventually hung up after about 8.5 minutes. I called back again, waited on hold for about four minutes, and finally reached a manager, Walter. He took ownership of the situation right away and confirmed he would ensure the order is delivered today. I appreciate Walter stepping in and resolving what had been a very frustrating experience. read more

This is a Home Depot which isn't top shelf customer service. But lately I've noticed it's looking more like a swap meet than a retail environment. Aisles are stuffed with grab and go type items often times to the points carts can't make it down the isles. If a cart can't make it then anyone with a mobility aid would be stuck trying to maneuver around. I've noticed more items being dropped by forklift where aisles are congested to the point of blockage which isn't ideal when trying to load lumber and other items. Management would do well to walk around a bit and look at their store. Pros: lots of parking, seems the trash hauler trucks are going elsewhere so there is more customer parking. Clean bathrooms. Good prices. Day labor is available in the parking lot, not associated with Home Depot but nice to have people who are willing to help with home projects. Cons: Lumber must come from the worst trees on the planet lol. Aisles are often congested or blocked Lots of trash just laying around. Still going to visit the location as the pricing is there but this location could benefit from some attention to detail IMO read more

I had an oven and they installed a microwave over it that didn't have one there prior. Now 3 years later I'm finding out that they were improperly installed and Home Depot said it's been too long to do anything about it. So, they're saying they won't stand behind their installers? That is definitely not a good thing in my eyes for such a large company to not care how their products and the people they send to do the work. It's usually a toss up whether I go to Home Depot or Lowe's. The prices are very similar; in fact, a Lowe's staffer previously told me that they select their sale dates to be the same as Home Depot's. What's also similar is that it is usually difficult to get help; staff are few and far between and they are always helping someone else when you do track someone down 5 aisles away. However, on my recent visit I was approached by three people in three different sections of the store. The first person helped me with selecting wasp spray, but he also sought the advice of an expert in the store who was quite thorough in explaining which spray to get and what time of day to use it. I was impressed with the service. To top it off, two others asked if I needed anything as I wandered through the store. So, not sure if today was a fluke, but I'll be back so we shall see if the good service continues. read more

Had several bad experience ordering online on the HD website. The latest one involved the ordering a SVOPES stair climbing cart. My office is in an older building with an elevator and I need the special cart to haul boxes of documents to an outfit for shredding. I ordered it to be shipped to the Genesee HD store for pickup. The first hiccup was that the product was shipped to the store but I was never notified about that. I just happened to check on the status online and found that out. At the store, when the product was brought out in a shopping cart, I was appalled by the condition of the box it came in. It looked like it was opened and roughly taped back together with a huge hole in the front of the box - see photo. At the same time I notice that the brand on the box was VEVOR and the one I ordered was SVOPES! Concerned and not too happy, I demanded to talk to a supervisor/manager. Jacky, the supervisor was the one I spoke to about my dissatisfaction. She mentioned that SVOPES and VEVOR were somehow related(?) and the products were comparable(?). She then opened the top of the box, looked inside and said that the equipment seemed intact with the zip tags still in place. She then asked me whether I want to send this one back and wait to get a replacement. With the time constraint, I decided to take my chances with what is at hand. On Sunday, I decided to open up the box, take out the equipment and get it assembled. The first thing I did was to open up the manual to read the instructions. I was shocked to read the instruction # 3 which states that "This product cannot be used to go up or down stairs"!!!! What? That was the whole purpose of my purchase. Also I discovered that the washers, bolts and pins for assembly were missing. That was the last straw . . . Fuming, I took the package back to the store and was looking for Jacky to let her know my frustrations with the whole situation and to see if she can help me get a good replacement on a timely basis. Jacky was in that day so I spoke to Mat, a manager. All he did was just listen to me and when I ask if I could get a replacement per my original order e.g. SVOPES and an actual stair climbing cart, etc. He said he cannot promise anything and it is out of his hand since it is handled by HD online associated vendors. Sounded like a true bureaucrat kicking the ball into somebody's else court and not taking the initiative to make right for the customers. I told him this kind of situation will not happen with Costco or Amazon because the have the infrastructure and caring personnel to take care of business and their customers. I already hear rumors and warning from my clients to not to shop with HD because when customers return the goods, they or their online vendors just put them back in inventory ready to be shipped out to the next unsuspecting customers. This is evidenced by the shocking 1 star reviews by customers on your YELP page. Shame on Home Depot. Start taking care of business and your customers. read more

My mother, a retired teacher with medical limitations for carrying items over 20lbs, goes to this Home Depot on a weekly basis for home improvement projects. And is usually assisted by kind associates when she can't lift things herself. Today, she was denied assistance with loading 2 large bags of cement because the items were in the "free section". The initial associate she had approached then escalated the conversation by bringing out a female manager who also denied assistance with loading the bags into my mother's vehicle. Solely because the items were in the "free section". Thankfully, a different associate saw my mother's need and helped her. But unfortunately, the managed reprimanded him for being a helpful associate. Disappointing that this is the quality of service and management Home Depot would employ. I would suggest a quality improvement review and ensure customers of all racial/ethnic backgrounds were treated appropriately. read more

The process of renting a moving truck for my move across town was extremely easy and painless through this Home Depot! I started the process by booking through their online rental portal. I had to make an initial $150 deposit to reserve my truck. The price of the actual rental depends on how long you rent it. The day of, I went inside to the rentals department, gave him my license, policy number for my insurance and was handed the keys within10 minutes. The truck I rented was the 12' HD Moving Box Truck. The truck was so easy to drive and fairly new. It came with a dolly inside the truck in case you needed it. I only needed the truck for 3 hours. Before returning the truck I filled up the tank back to F with gasoline. There are at least 4 different gas stations located around this home depot, making it easy. I paid just about $100 after everything was done. The reason I choose Home Depot for my truck rental compared to U-HAUL was because they have a flat daily rate for all trucks. $150. It is also unlimited mileage on all vehicles, all you have to do is return the truck with a full tank. This is a very affordable option for those looking to make small in-town moves. read more

I don't like using the heater or the AC so I've been insulating the townhouse. My last project was replacing my 2 patio doors with vinyl low-E 4 patio doors. That did reduce the temperature spikes but it still got warmer and colder than I prefer. My latest project has been to put inch thick foam insulation where the heat and cold are still coming through. I bought a 8ft x 4ft sheet from Home Depot and cut it to size with an exacto knife. The reflective side is supposed to face the sun. Some heat was still getting through the insulation so I taped aluminum foil to the reflective side. The combination of the vinyl low-E windows plus aluminum foil backed foam insulation has proven to be great at keeping the sun from heating up the townhouse in the summer. Now that it's January the coldest month of the year in San Diego. I'm putting up the foam insulation at night where the cold gets in. The front door is the coldest spot. The single pane glass near the top of the door is freezing at night while the wood is not as cold. I put a piece of the foam insulation between my security door and the front door. The glass is no longer freezing and the wood doesn't feel cold anymore. The low-E 4 patio doors I purchased turned out to be very good at keeping the cold out while the low-E 3 windows are not as good. That said, it was wonderful to get the same excellence in all the above at this warehouse off Genesee Ave in Clairemont. Ryan (who I thought was the "HD Manager") immediately asked how he could help and when I shared that we had ordered a product on-line, he quickly knew what to do - and he did it! No. Over the top would mean seeking you out, offering help, walking you through the sea of confusion to actually find what you're looking for, and locating that item on the cluttered shelves. You don't get that here, or at any other Home Depot. What you will get is a quick "aisle 9, left hand side" shouted at you when you ask them for help, leaving you to figure out the rest. Jonathan helped me out with all the items I was looking for and was very patient. He made copies of both my keys, gave me suggestions on products, and even walked with me to the sections where the items were located. This Year at Home Depot, in the CHRISTMAS area an 8 FEET indoor/Outdoor Santa caught my eye. I was so excited that I couldn't wait for any sales, so i got it Last month before Thanksgiving for Full price. It is Gorgeous, I'm always lucky to have an item from Home Depot since they have no Defects. This store is not on my Regular Route of Shopping, but it does provide good quality product for our home and holiday decors. So Far, all the Staff that we've encountered here are very Helpful. If I needed something they wont say "Oh, we only have what you see in the shelves", nope, we've never encountered that here in Home Depot. I brought this GE washer & Dryer combo after Thanksgiving day. First they delivered at my home the following Monday but at the time of installation they crack my wooden floor and delivered a defective machine. I see the machine and boy it's makes such a loud noise you have to stay out the home!! I thought it would break my walls!!! Takes me close to two weeks to get a replacement of the new machine. I was constantly on the phone follows up with my whereabouts of the claims. Hints-- To all consumers. Do not use the chat function that Home Depot appliance option. You get no where fast in finding out whatever happens to your replacement or requests. I had to learn to call them instead, that has save me extra week if I have done it initially. Shopping with a bad knee and after spending time to load 4 planks (all of what was on the shelf) in our cart clearly marked $5.54. All rang up as $11.98. Flicked the help light on and the employee next to us yells out - "can we get some help over here". She came over and turned off the help alarm but didn't assist and walked away. 10 min later, my husband, tired of waiting just went back to the location to take a picture of the price tag of where all of the items were stocked. Upon return to the register with the picture of the price tag we were told "oops they must have been mistocked". Explaining that ALL of the colors were mistocked then and that's a weights and measures violation. He responded with "I understand" yet refused to honor the post price which was on all of the items. I explained that weights and measures violations were $10,000. A big hit for a good customer service $20 fix. He still refused to honor to posted price. Submitting weights and measure violation and super disappointed with this location. What used to have great customer service has been replace with substandard employee care attending minimally to self service registers. Home depot, you need to better. 12:15 pm. 9/3/24. I am handicap. Parked in the closest handicap parking spot to the exit on the west side of the building. Retrieved a cart from the dozens of them in the lot. Immediately upon entering a black woman YELLED at me "you can't bring that cart in here. Can't you read-it's an exit". Which meant I would have had to walk all the way down to the main entrance in 95 degree heat!! Why have handicap parking spots that are not anywhere near the entrance? Your first instinct is to trust HD, right?! Guess what, the QR code leads to a fraudulent website, which collects your ID/CC info and signs you up to monthly media service. Instead of going to HD/Clear, it opens up higopo.com and sign up to mediagant.net. Needles to say, it is almost impossible to cancel the subscription, I spent half a day to figure out how to do that. This review is for the associates that tried to help, but especially for Mac and Sean. My daughter got a cleaning cloth stuck in her oboe. The opening is very narrow and the part that the cloth was stuck in had a diameter about 4 mm and the cloth was twisted. I tried burning it out. Used tweezers and cuticle trimmers and pulled tiny pieces and bits of threads. I spend 6 hours from 10 pm until 4 am because my daughter has her first lesson the next day. I had blisters from using a small cuticle file, tiny drill bits and I was terrified to damage any parts because it was a rental and oboes are ridiculously expensive. Many associates couldnt figure out what to do but one of them, Mac refused give up. He took us to different parts of the store and asked many other associates for ideas. Then we went to Sean at the rental counter. He used air compressor. Nothing. He used a narrow screw driver from the other eat of the mouth piece and finally, got the damn thing out! The cloth had burned spots and parts if it was melted and twisted so it effectively created a stopper or a stopper. If I took it to Bertrands, it would have taken weeks for the repair. My daughter's first lesson was the next day and the tutor will be off to college at the end of July. I was stressed and almost in tears. Mac and Sean saved the day and I am deeply grateful!! Home Depot has 8 varieties of kids gardening gloves available online and in store. Checked and the Genesee store has all of them in stock over 30+ units of all styles. So i headed to the store and go to the gardening section and I'll I can find are adult sizes. Check the app and again all are in stock but marked as see an associate. So I ask one for help and his response was "well a box with kids gloves is really small and that would take me a lot of time to do. Just check the row, go up and down until you find them." So went on my phone opened Amazon and guess what I got a pair of kids gardening gloves being delivered to my house overnight for less than what they wanted at Home Depot. Lesson learned.
