I got my tree here nov 2019 and it was my 6th tree from them. They have a good assortment of different trees and heights. I always get a 6ft Douglas fir and it's about $55-60. If you sign up for their mailing list you get 10% off your tree. They also deliver for $10 and set it up for you. Alex is very friendly and set it up quickly. Worst experience I've ever had here. So I bought the 7/8 foot tall tree that cost me $140 plus the stand which was an extra $25 and the total came out to $180 with taxes included. When I got home my husband and I took the tree down from our car to put it in our house. The moment we put it up it was slanted and then we saw it keep tilting more and more and more. To the point where it is was on the floor. I called them to let them know that this occurred and we were told that they were going to bring someone out and fix the stand because that's what seems like to be the problem. He asked me for my address and my phone number and let me know that they will be on their way. Shortly after the girl put me on hold again and told me her manager cannot keep the promise that was promised to me which is to send someone to fix it. I live in Vista and I drove all the way from Vista to pick up this tree. They told me that it was an inconvenient for them to drive all the way to me although I already drove to them and asked me if I could bring the tree back. When they already knew I drove in a sedan and I already cut off the rope how am I supposed to put that back? That literally makes no sense. Not only was he so disrespectfully rude but kept telling me that I'm pretty much out of luck and I can go buy a stand somewhere else. Like who says that. Even after when I was offered a false promise that they would come and fix the problem that they had given me it shouldn't have been my problem to go buy another stand when we regardless bought it from them I've never dealt with so much unprofessionalism within a phone call and especially because the key for the manager. There really is no better place to buy Christmas trees in San Diego. I've been coming here for yeeeeaaaarrs. Doug, the guy that owns the joint, is a really cool dude. I first met the guy 8 years ago when he was partying at my friend's house. There were about 8 people sitting in a circle, and it appeared that they were sucking on some kind of glass device with shrubbery resembling a Christmas wreath inside. I saw from afar, so I can't be 100% accurate to what it was, exactly :) They proceeded to giggle uncontrollably, though. It really is a fun place to get into the holiday spirit, though. They give you complimentary hot, apple cider as you walk around and pick out your tree. I've been to Julian a bunch of times... and I gotta say... it rivals some of the best hot cider I've had up there. That alone, brings me back to the Christmas tree lot year after year. It's the little things, ya know? Also, if you're a repeat customer, they'll give you 20% off of your tree. In the tough times we're going through right now, it's pretty cool to be able to support a locally owned business (as opposed to buying from Home Deopt), and getting a little kick back to boot! I showed up Friday with a $30.00 voucher that I had purchased from Discover SD for $15.00. The owner said that I was bamboozed and he had never agreed to have such a promo run on the internet and that his lot receives nothing from the ad. But....he was nice enough to honor the voucher so I wouldn't be out the $15.00 I had already paid. He took the hit. When I lived in PB years ago I always got my X-mas trees here. They were and still all very helpful, friendly and efficient. By the time I have run up the tree I picked out they already have it wrapped and ready to put in my truck. What service. Prices are pretty on par with other tree places and they have a huge selection. So you should mozy on over there and get your tree. It will only take a minute and you can enjoy the apple cider and music while you are there. read more

We go every year, we save the stand, and we also use the coupon they send us every year. We always find a tree we like and they deliver to the UTC area for not much money. Be careful if you buy a smaller tree (under 3') and they sell you the portable stand/water cup. We were wondering how our tree could drink so much water and it turns out that the way it's secured (nails into the base) causes leaks and I found a nice little pool of water growing in the corner of our house this weekend. Other than that, nice little Christmas Tree spot in PB. Free cider and lots of options, including wreaths and home delivery. If you drive, they'll strap it to your car. I came here last Christmas and it was the exact experience I was looking for. Once we walked in we were greeted really pleasantly and were given some hot cider to sip on while we walked around looking for our tree. The guys there were great in explaining to me the difference between the different trees and how they smelled by pulling off some of the needles inside the trees. It was a little pricier than I had hoped for but that's because I could have gotten a tree in my price range but I decided to go with a noble fir instead of a douglas (ask about the difference if you don't already know! it totally made a difference) There was a super energetic dog there too that I got to play with, watch out though, it knows a trick where it attacks you if you look like you're going into fighter position. Just a warning ;) The guys were super nice, told me everything I needed, nailed a stand into it and loaded it into my car. I'm definitely coming back here next December! OH! and they had a HUGGGGGGGGGE christmas tree, I'd guess probably about 20+ ft tall! read more

What other SD nursery does a tree stand recycling bonus? This allows us spend more to get that extra special tall tree. Excellent variety of HEALTHY gorgeous trees unlike big nurseries which were high priced and "picked over" by the time we get around to getting our tree. How nice is it to receive a hand addressed envelope and letter from the owner welcoming us back. They've always been super careful attaching our tree to my vehicle, I've never had any issues in transport, scratches or otherwise. Carlos always does a nice job, as well as the other sweet Surfer guys who are always cheerful, and helpful. This Christmas tree lot has been in Pacific Beach on the corner of Garnet and Bayard for about 17 years. The last time I was there was about 14 years ago, but I knew when I moved back into PB this year that this was the place I would go to buy my Christmas tree. The whole experience is enjoyable, no digging around in trees that are laying on their side, or trying to figure out what a tree looks like in the dark. The lot always has music playing....and thankfully, it's not all the Christmas crapola! It was some nice bluesy Eric Clapton while we were there. They also always have nice hot cider (free) for you! The lot is organized in nice neat rows and it's well lit so that you can see them. The trees are all healthy and clean. Everyone is helpful and friendly, we didn't have to wait long before someone was asking if they could help. Doug "the tree whisperer" helped us...we just told him the height and space we had available and he found the perfect tree! They offer delivery service - which we took advantage of (it was $10 inside of PB) and they cut the tree fresh at our home, and put it in the stand for us! They're not the cheapest trees around, but for the whole easy, thoroughly enjoyable experience, we didn't mind paying a few extra dollars. You get what you pay for! tip: Don't forget to sign their sheet at checkout, they'll send you a 15% off coupon for next year. Short story: we walked through a well lit lot, of nice clean trees, while listening to good music with a cup of hot cider in our hands. A friendly man helped us find the perfect tree and then delivered it to our home and placed it in the living room. I went here to get my 2-foot apartment sized tree this year and dragged my boyfriend along with me. The place was full of enough Christmas cheer to make it the highlight of his Sunday evening. The trick? REALLY yummy FREE apple cider for their customers! I'm an apple cider fan and haven't made any nearly as good as theirs. They had a great selection of trees regardless of size you were looking for (as well as some really pretty wreaths), were very efficient with the service, and even when the line got long - it went fast. They have a great process set up there. And even when I somehow lost my ticket for my tree pick up, the guy there was helpful in sorting the confusion out. We got to use a 15% off offer they sent my boyfriend in the mail, which was also helpful. And if you're concerned about tree pickup/parking, they have the ally in the back set for pickups once you make your purchase. No dragging full sized trees through the streets of PB. The only reason I don't rate it a full 5 is that I grew up going to Christmas tree farms where you cut your own tree down, which is an awesome holiday experience. So upset I didn't get my tree from them! Unfortunately I went to Home Depot. They didn't have stands. What the hack? No where has small stands for small trees...except this place!! They were so nice! $6 stand, and they attached it to my tree (that I embarrassingly brought from Home Depot) for me! Got me all set up! :) For such a small place they have a great selection. Everyone says they're expensive, but they're only about $5 more than their larger store competitors. And I will definitely be paying the $5 extra next year! Pleasant staff, so helpful, and just right around the corner From home! PS: don't forget to tip your tree trimmer! Just got a tree here. The staff was great: helpful, gave us info about the different types of pines they had, took out trees to let us look at them all the way around, and left us alone when we wanted to just wander and look. The kids and I chose a tree, and it was a warm, friendly experience. A 5-6' tall Douglas tree cost $40, and though it was more expensive than getting a tree at Walmart or Home Depot, the overall experience was so much nicer. Also I was really happy to support a local business rather than those evil corporations. They put in a wooden tree stand and water basin for an extra $10. They securely tied the tree to the top of the car for us, and sent us off with cheer. read more

This is our sixth year, I think, getting our Christmas tree here - we started even before moving to PB. Doug always helps us choose a great tree. Ours was just delivered for this year and - what prompts me to write this review - is that Cory, the guy who delivered it, was brilliant. The tree was trimmed to fit in our stand (they provide stands if you prefer) and set up straight in no time. We couldn't be more pleased with the whole process. While we walk to buy our Christmas trees now, it's worth driving here from any reasonable distance. It's one thing to select your tree, it's another to have the delivery and setup go smoothly.
