Yeah ,so so terrible costumer service ,trees are dry ,no water under the trees ,when I asked one of the "ladies " (who care nothing ,do nothing )why doesn't have water under the trees ,she said we do ,was dry ,we were hesitant to buy the tree or not ,but we did ,was a mistake ,tree so dried out ,already loosing so much leaves ,no smell ,this location literally killing these beautiful trees,and this 2 woman who "works " there killing alive of Xmas ,no music no nothing in there .we payed $60 ,for a small tree ,and she was asking about a tip ? For what ? Just sad ,and terrible,I never go back ,after more then 15 years of buying these beautiful trees ,this 2 woman just killing everything it's called Xmas or literally a trees ,and lies about watering them . We decided so last minute to visit this tree stop while going home in Mission Valley and it didn't disappoint! All the workers are very friendly and super helpful when explaining the pricing and options. They had super tiny trees, medium, and large trees. Also a lot of extras!! Amazing service that exceeded my expectations! I placed an order for this tree online yesterday and it was such an easy, hassle-free experience. I received confirmation almost immediately after that it'd be delivered the next day. I set my preference for it to arrive between the hours of 10am-12pm and at 9:30 this morning I received a call from them saying they were 30 mins away! Amazing. The two gentlemen called me again once they arrived and the tree was already attached to the stand and fluffed! They were also wearing masks and adhering to COVID-19 safety precautions. Great customer service! We've purchased trees from Pinery for multiple years now and have never had an issue with the exception of the price but I do understand you get what you pay for in most cases. This year was no different. We purchased our tree ($220...definitely expensive) and set it up when we got home. It didn't take any water over the course of a week and when I called to inform Pinery, they immediately offered to replace the tree and also mentioned they'd be open to delivering a new one. I was shocked, in a good way, given the lack of customer service we've come to expect from most companies these days. We had just finished decorating the tree never expecting they would offer to replace it and decided to just deal with it. They asked what they could do for us and they ended up mailing a couple gift certificates. It was definitely the right thing to do and very much appreciated. Thank you Pinery for resolving the issue and because of how you handled everything, we'll see you again next year. read more

The prices keep going up, yet the selection goes down. Tonight they hardly had any trees to pick from, extremely disappointing. No one was there to greet you like what were used to from past years. Pinery Christmas Trees made our tree-shopping super easy with a wide variety to choose from, great prices, and helpful staff! This was our second stop when looking for a tree this year, and right away we figured it would be our last. The lot is laid out really well and is very simple to navigate on your own. There is a section near the back featuring a nice range of Douglas firs for $49.95; if you're not needing anything crazy, this section should absolutely work for you. We found a nice 6-foot tree that was perfect for our space within about 15 minutes (5 of which were walking around first looking at gigantic trees that would have never fit, because, you know). We notified one of the staff members walking around, who asked us if we had our own stand (we did) and if we wanted it in a net (we did); he made sure to cut it properly for our needs, which was awesome. Cashier rang us up with a coupon she brought up that brought the whole thing with netting and taxes to under $50. Like I said, this place more than exceeded whatever expectations we could have had. We were looking for a Christmas tree in the Mission Valley area. Our first stop was Lowes and although the prices were lower, the trees seemed to be drier and were leaning on each other in huge piles. My husband had to hold the trees for me to look at, but then we'd have to switch places so he could see the tree from a distance. We didn't get a good feel for the trees there at all. So the search continued on... Our next stop was Pinery Christmas Trees and parking was a breeze. We immediately noticed a huge difference - each tree was standing in water and the employees were extremely helpful. My husband spotted the tree we ending up buying from several feet away. The set up here is so much easier to navigate through. Plus they more types: Douglas, Noble and Grand Fir. We went with a 4-5 Grand Fir, which was $35. They promptly trimmed the bottom of our tree, took off extra layers of branches on the bottom (so it would fit in the stand we have at home), put a net on it and even loaded it up in our car. We were in and out in 15 min, on a Saturday morning. The extra $5-$10 (over Lowe's prices) we spent on our tree was worth every penny! You really do get what you pay for. Thanks, Pinery! read more

This is the third year we came to pinery to get our Christmas tree. They had a great selection even after being wiped out the first weekend after Thanksgiving. They are unwrapping and restocking Christmas trees fast. After not finding exactly what I was looking for I came across the owner and ask him if he could help. He walked around the lot with me to make sure I saw every tree with my specifications until I found exactly what I was looking for. In fact it was more than I was looking for. We have never found a more gorgeous Christmas tree. It is so fresh and so full. The owner went out of his way during this very busy time to make sure I found exactly what I was looking for. I usually go to Home Depot for Christmas trees as a default - kind of a family tradition that I brought along from when I was a kid. I think I remember my parents saying that these "pop-up" lots are SO expensive, so don't even try. Well, we got our tree this year from Pinery Christmas Trees, and it was a great experience. We went right before closing time on a weeknight the second week in December, so it wasn't a peak time, and I'm sure it's a madhouse on the weekends. What I liked about the place is that the trees were really well organized, they have stands they stand up in, and aren't all piled up in a big stack (still tied) like at places like Home Depot or Costco. Our tree guy also showed us the "back row" - trees that have been tagged as imperfect, maybe because of a funny top or a big gap on one side. If you put your tree in a corner or against the wall - who cares if it's got a bald spot? We got a 6-7" noble fir for $43, usually would be $70-something, because one side looks like it was half giving-tree. Have to admit, I don't think I'd like paying $70 for a tree of that size... but $43? that works just fine for me. It's a fabulous tree, and fits great in our living room corner. Our tree guy took the tree from where we picked it out to get a fresh cut while we paid for it, and then he loaded it in the truck. Super simple, great service, and I like that the cashier encourages customers to tip the tree guy - they work hard! read more

Staff mishandle trees after purchase and do not carry trees by the trunk but cheat and try to carry holding the branches. The staff after I paid for my tree broke several branches by doing this in bailing the tree and the tree fullness was definitely impacted. The value does not match the price. This place is poorly managed; they don't teach their staff how to handle the trees or employ people who cannot lift 50 - 80 lbs. Also they buy trees harvested in October which is totally unacceptable in terms of needle retention. read more

Last year my Christmas tree was GORGEOUS from the day after Thanksgiving to New Years Day. #1 The people that work here were super nice. #2 The men that work there recommended to cut the bottom trunk again before we left so it lasts longer. I AM soooo happy I did because it lasted for legit like a month. #3 I got a really pretty smelling wreath there. #4 I am going again tomorrow! I always get my tree at Target, $30 for a nice 5'6 Noble Fir...but since Target took away their garden center and there was tons of traffic on a Friday night, I decided to try this lot around the corner. These trees are overpriced. I spent $30 for a 4' tree, which they didn't even cut the bottom off (probably because it already had a stand nailed to it), didn't offer to put netting around it, and by the time I got home, the needles were falling out, and it has not drank any of the water. So, as you can see, I'm not very happy for getting a charlie brown tree that was practically dead. The only good part is that after I said I didn't need help bringing it to my car, the only nice guy took the tree and said he would gladly bring it out - he gets 5 stars for customer service. However, I am still disappointed that they didn't offer to freshly cut the bottom of my tree off when I bought it or offer netting . I'll be heading over to Home Depot next year. read more

So . . . I know I should invest in a fake tree and same money and the environment but there's just something that I absolutely love about a real tree at christmastime. A guilty pleasure, I suppose. Long story short, because of the move in December last year, we didn't get a tree. This year, I stalked the tree lots and was ready to go the day after Thanksgiving. Oh yeah, I was that person. I did a bit of research and was between this place and Costco. The price at Costco was a little cheaper but the tree was taller and we weren't sure it'd fit in our place with the topper and all. Plus, you can't choose the tree at Costco - you pay and pick one up. The other thing I like is walking around and picking a tree. The service at the lot was good; the guy helping us cut off the bottom, put a net on it, and then carried it and secured it to our car. They also had a good selection of types of trees and heights. Anyhoo, we ended up with a 6-7 foot Grand Fir for about $55. We have gotten our tree here for the past 4 years. We just left this lot with no tree because they increased their prices drastically and are now charging $14.95 for stands which they never used to do before. We get a small tree (3 ft noble fir) every year because we live in a condo and the tree we were going to get was going to cost close to $70...for a 3 ft tree! Outrageous! This Christmas tree lot is located in the same shopping center as Target. Of course, traffic is horrendous, but once you make it into the lot you'll find a large selection of trees to choose from. Go towards the back of the lot for the reject trees that are on sale for $39.99. They will carry your tree to your car and tie it to your car for you. For an extra fee they will bag your tree and drill a hole in the bottom for your tree stand. STAY AWAY...Bought a tree and stand yesterday. Cost $115.00 Got home, put stand on and dressed tree. 1. The stand water bowl is leaking. 2. Stand would not screw in all the way. Why? They did not drill the hole deep enough for the stand screw. 3. Called them and they said bring it back. We went to the mission valley tree farm on monday afternoon and got a great noble fir tree (5-6 foot) for $30.00 after using the $5 coupon. The most amazing part was the staff, everyone we saw asked if we needed help. When we did the guy stayed with us for 30-40 mins. pulling out tree after tree until we found the one we wanted. I typically am a Home Depot Christmas tree gal, but due to time constraints I needed a tree lot closer to my apartment so I ended up at Pinery Christmas Trees. A nice man working there walked around with my boyfriend, roommate, and I and helped show us trees we pointed out that we liked. We found one pretty quickly (despite the $30+ dollar price tag for only a 5 foot tree) and the nice man offered to carry it up front for us, net it, and put it in the car, awesome! I did not know until getting to the cashier that netting was an additional $2 fee (really?). We also requested he cut off the bottom branches for us so it would fit in our tree stand and he said he would, though we did not know until after we got home (and after we tipped him) and tried to put it in the stand that he failed to do so. We also noticed that the trunk was very rubbery, we would try to make the tree straight and the trunk would simply bend. Due to these two issues not 30 seconds after we decorated the tree it came crashing down, breaking some ornaments and spilling the water from the stand everywhere. We ended up having to cut off probably a dozen branches ourselves (with a steak knife since we had no other tools) from the bottom and letting it dry out a day in hopes of the trunk firming up some in order to reaffix the tree into the stand. So far so good in it still standing, but I will not be returning to this tree lot. I got way better service for less money and less hassle at Home Depot. read more

Pinery is on the perimeter of Mission Valley Center, so it's easy to enter, park and leave. These people know their Christmas trees and are very helpful & nice. I would probably not get a tree from here again. Picked out the perfect one, paid for the delivery as well as the stand and the tree bag. The only reason they got 2 stars is because of the delivery guys. They were so nice and accommodating. While they were setting up the tree, I realized that they did not have the tree stand with them so I showed them the receipt. They apologized and came back later to give it to me (it wasn't their fault, its the lot people's fault for not including it in the delivery). They refunded me cash for the tree bag, they brought the stand as well as the equipment to set the tree up. I don't think they knew how to set up the stand (it wasn't their job, theyre just suppose to delivery so I understand..)because after they left i realized that the tree was leaning on one side and the tray was leaking water. I just didn't want to call back and deal with the hassel anymore and tried to fix it myself. read more
