Beware! Unprofessional staff. Disappointing pizza. Other than that, upon pickup of our order, a conversation between staff was overheard about a problem with another order. The issue was a "no-dressing" request on a salad, which apparently had, indeed, already been dressed. The girl who noticed this mistake, asked (who we presume was a manager) how to fix it. The woman then said, "just add more lettuce" as if the customer would not notice. Hearing that, and having family with food allergies, we made a comment that it's best to make a new one, trying to politely suggest, who knows why the customer ordered this way? But our comment was dismissed by the woman. While still waiting for the transaction to be completed, we also noticed staff touching each other's faces then returning to work. Having that encounter before just taking our own food home, we were hesitant to eat it- but were very hungry. The "Thai chicken" pizza was not even tossed in Thai sauce, instead sauce was drizzled over the whole pizza. Just regular, dry chicken fingers chopped up and tossed on. Amazing crust, and seriously is the best pizza I've ever had! The sauce was a little too sweet the last time I had a pizza from here, but it was probably just a fluke because I've been a regular customer of Val's Pizza and Subs for many years, and it was always fine every other time. Seriously, they use such high quality dough, sauce, and cheese that even a plain cheese pizza tastes amazing. The service is always great. I've called to place my orders even when they were super busy, and they person answering the phone was always so patient and a good listener who focused on getting my orders right, instead of allowing their self to become distracted by whatever that was going on. The vibe of the place is casual. It's run by very down - to - earth people who are well - loved by the community. Give their pizza a try; it's the best in New Hampshire and maybe - dare I say it - New England! I'm originally from California and have traveled through half of the states in our country. I had to navigate through the very cluttered and cramped convenience store to the pizza counter in the back. There's no seating here, so it's takeout and delivery only. Val's Pizza also has a bigger location in Hollis offering dine-in, takeout, and delivery. Val's Pizza offers Italian style pizza, calzones, hot & cold subs, salads, pasta dinners, and appetizers. I ordered a Small (12") Eggplant Pizza ($7.95 plus tax) which was ready in about 20 minutes. My pizza was baked through the belt oven to ensure even crust. The entirely young staff was having a pretty grand time in the kitchen with hand stretched dough swinging around. I used to work in food service under similar conditions eons ago, but my bosses were strict. I was pleasantly surprised the pizza was very good, which had a nice soft thin crust topped with the right amount of sauce and cheese, though the breaded eggplant pieces were really browned, but not burnt. The Mr is mad for their subs, particularly the various chicken ones, so much so he can't bring himself to try others. I don't like chicken, but he insists I try a bite and Holy Moly, yes, they are outstanding. We both love their white pizza, the only one we've tried so far. Went here for subs for the first time a few days ago....great bread, and really "full" subs. Chopped pickles on the ham and cheese sub are my husband's favorite! Onl Good value and can't beat the convenience...will definitely be back to try out the pizza soon! read more

I have to say I have never been so disappointed in the customer service and the food we received today! My husband was laughed at when we brought our subs back for have half the steak with put the toppings that were ordered ( and yes she repeated them) I hope it wasn't the owner that did this because if it is then they won't last much longer read more

Great pizza in 20 minutes or less. Love the 'Steak Bomb'. The subs are great and they put on more of the stuff you order than ANY sub shop that I've ever been to, and I've been to sub shops over the US and Europe! The satellite shop in Brookline is in the convenience store (along with Dunkin Donuts) so it's a but cramped and it's takeout only). The main shop in Hollis is bigger, but the food quality is the same. If you are paying by credit card in Brookline you have to ring out at the convenience store register so bring cash for your tip. read more

I asked the difference in price between a medium and large, after I requested my toppings and the person who worked there told me around $11 for a medium and a $13 for a large and then after my pizza was made she charged me $25. The reviews I read, let me down. The subs were tiny and the wait for 2 subs felt like an eternity. 2 other orders placed after mine, came out way before mine did. The entire staff was a bunch of 15yr old kids. Only one had any clue what she was doing. People said that the portions were big, but my large sub looked like half a small. The meals are Italian inspired such as pasta option and Chicken/eggplant parmigiana. there are also Kids options. Prices are OK with kids meals ranging form 3.25 to 4.75, subs from 4.95 to 7.25, and pizza's from 6.95 (small cheese) to 15.25 (Large Specialty). Service is friendly and are quick to serve you or answer questions. The location can accept credit on orders over 10 dollars that must be processed by the gas station counter not at Val's desk. drink and snack items such as chips must also be bought at the service counter not at Val's desk. I'm so happy to have found this pizza place! We just moved here yesterday and we've already been twice (our fridge isn't exactly stocked yet). Moving from a big city where we could literally walk two minutes to at least four phenomenal pizza joints, we weren't sure what was in store for us in Brookline. This was an awesome surprise. The pizza is thin but chewy, just the way I love it, and the toppings are perfect. Quick pickup time (ready within 12 minutes from the time we placed our order) and friendly staff.
