11-19-25 8am app- was told only 1 hour to put in a new valve sensor- got there at 7:50----well the guy at the desk said is was what kinda mood the mechanice was in on how long it would take-can't fire him can't get help set there 45 minutes and was told maybe another hour and 1/2 before he gets to it then another 1 1/2- rude ass little girl at the desk needs new job threw my shit on the counter,...... 155 bucks would have been charged-said go else where-- i did called another shop 1 hr 100 bucks what scammers they are screwing beach people have to give 1 star read more

We had a flat tire a block from this auto shop and we did not have a jack. We asked to borrow a jack and leave collateral (phone, license) and this auto shop was not willing to assist. Disappointing to say the least. It would be nice if this auto shop could be a good community member and assist its neighbors. The lady who would not assist us now has posted that it is a liability issue to loan a jack. Wow. So she is choosing to be dishonest on top of providing poor customer service. Luckily there is another shop down the road who not only loaned us a jack but who has earned our business going forward. They were professional, helpful, and willing to assist a neighbor in need. Had a very unpleasant experience yesterday. very rude woman in the office!!! when I went to pick up my car an hour later of being dropped my car had not been moved !! after my complaint and when they finally took it back I let them know this would be my last time bringing my car there. that's when that woman in the office proceeds to go tell the technician to close the hood and pull my car out. since the mechanic didn't do it she took my car keys and drove my car out herself!!!!!!!!!!!! Refusing to service my car!!! i know if I owned that business or any business I would nit hire someone that rude and incompetent to be the "face" of the business and the person charge of dealing with the customers!!!!! NEVER AGAIN taking my car there and making sure I share my experience with everyone. several of my friends have already told me they've had a bad experience with her!! read more

I have to say that Superior called me and offered me $33.00 off my $167.00 oil change on my 4 cylinder VW. That would mean I would have only paid $134.00 for an oil change. In fairness Superior has treated me well the last ten years. I do not know if they have new owners or ? I have owned businesses and frankly I would have offered a ten year customer a refund. But no $33 off what something that should have cost me less than $80.00. Good luck to them and God bless them. read more

I will let you decide if you would bring your car to this garage, here are the facts. Sorry it is a bit long. A radiator hose had split in the beginning of April and Precision Auto care replaced the hose and also told me there was an error code that said possible thermostat issue but did not want to replace it because it was possibly caused by the blown hose. it is expensive to fix, and they were not sure I needed it so suggested I wait and keep an eye on the car. On Wednesday April 13th my car did overheat and was towed to Superior Auto. I called Thursday morning and was told because of the holiday they would most likely not get to it until Monday. I told them that it was our only car in NC and gave them the info about the previous work that was done and asked them if they could do anything sooner, we would appreciate it. I did not hear from them until I called Tuesday morning. The said the mechanic assigned to my car called out on Monday and was just not looking at the car. They called Tuesday EOD to tell me it was indeed the thermostat, and it would be about 600 dollars to fix and could be done EOD Wednesday or Thursday at the latest. I gave them the approval and waited. On Thursday morning I called, and they said it was done they were just calibrating/leveling the coolant. We walked over about 11am, it was not done so we took a walk around the lake and came back at noon. Still not done. We waited till about 12:30 and said we were going to get a bite to eat and would be right back. I was told mine as well wait for a call because the mechanic was taking his lunch break, and nothing would be done for the next hour. How many of you work taht have missed lunch or have taken a late lunch because of customer commitment, i know i have, i guess not at Superior. So, we borrowed a car to get some shopping done, since we had been without a car for a week now. As we were shopping, they call and said they could not level the coolant, so they now think it is the water pump. The water pump that is in the same location as the thermostat. They now have to take everything apart again to replace the water pump and the cost will not be 1,334 dollars and would be another week because they are busy. I now i knew i made the wrong decision letting this garage do the job but we were stuck. On April 26th, 2 weeks after dropping off the car they finally said it was done. We had it about 2 weeks before the car overheated again. I was done but my wife decided to go back to Superior assuming they would make good on whatever the issue was. So, this time it was a hose from the thermostat that they just replaced. They said in the mechanics notes he wrote there were brittle hoses, but they never told us or asked if they should be replaced while doing the 1300-hundred-dollar job, they just waited for them to fail again. So now another 224 dollars to replace that hose. We go back north and are driving the car for a couple of months, and you guessed it the car overheated again. I took the car to a shop up at home that we have used for 25 years and at first, they could not figure out the leak. They had the car for a couple of days and discovered when the water pump was put on the mechanic put the clamp on incorrectly and the vibration of the motor had caused the clamp to cut the hose and that was what was causing the leak. The hose the damaged was a 250-dollar hose and the whole thing cost us another 800 dollars. I called Superior to tell them what had happened, hoping we could work out a fair solution to the 800-dollar damage caused by the incorrect clamping. Thier response was they mechanic said there were brittle hoses and when they remove hoses to replace the water pump, they just loosen them and do not replace clamps. The interesting thing is i was billed for 4 new clamps when they did the work and also i have the hose and it is not brittle it is just cut for the incorrectly placed clamps. The only recourse with this garage is to take them to court, it is a shame that after seeing all the errors and delays caused by their mechanic, they could not try to figure out an equitable solution to the problem. We are reasonable people, admit your mistake take ownership and move on. We all make mistakes but to say hose is brittle and you do not remove clamps when obviously you do is just bad business and bad for your reputation. Wish we did not have to go to court over this but looks like that is where we are heading. Please be very careful if you use Superior auto. Thanks for reading, Mark read more

On my way to the pharmacy. I realized my car was missing a lot. I drove it to Superior Auto due to the good recommendations in the app Nextdoor, Athough they had to send for the part, they were able to take me immediately, and since I only lived a mile away, they drove me home. They stayed in contact and let me know what was happening and gave me prices for each thing that needed to be done. I am happy with the service and those that work with this business. read more

If I could rate it zero stars I would. If you want incompetent work done with customer service attitude then take your car here. Imagine having struts replaced taking 5 weeks and 20 excuses and attitude issues. Installed new struts on my honda prelude and both of them failed and damaged my hood. Nothing but hassle and excuses I got my vehicle back a month later and was told I could have a free oil change and tire rotation. It does not matter how many times you take your vehicle to Superior, or how much money you give these people... the lady at the front desk is going to be as rude to you as humanly possible. She has a truly remarkable disposition. If you ask her 1 single question she will answer you with such venom I am sure many customers just run out the door, down the street, and abandon their vehicle forever. If you ask her 2 questions, she will assess an $82 charge to your bill. If you ask 3 questions she may assault you physically (not sure about that because I always stop at 2 questions). Not sure why a person with a perpetually nasty attitude is in charge of customer service. A better position for her would be roaming the grounds at night, on all fours, watching for burglars and chewing on old tires. I AM DONE GIVING THEM MY MONEY!!!! NOT WORTH THE ATTITUDE!!! In the past few months I had some custom work done on my truck, my brother in-laws brakes worked on while here on vacation and a tire change. I have a car at our beach house and it needed to be inspected to get my State sticker. I took my car to Superior Automotive. The inspection failed because the check engine soon light was on. I was told it failed and there was no offer to repair it to even given diagnostic to tell me what was wrong with the car. I took my car to Auto Zone to get an evaluation. Got the diagnosis, got a new gas cap and the light went off. Took it back to Superior Auto, they did a diagnostics. Oh no!! Four of the five sensors was still on, drive it and that will probably reset all the other sensors. I drive the car over 100 miles. Took it back for the third visit and three of the sensors were still not reset. Not once was I offered to have the mechanic look at it, or tell me that they could fix it, they could help me in any way. Thanks Alot!! I felt like I was an inconvenience. The lady at the desk took her time talking to other customers(locals I'm sure), I always had to wait. I took my car home with me. I have a very competent mechanic where I live. I will never go back to Superior Auto and don't advise anyone else to take their vehicle there either!!! I wish I could give ZERO STARS!!! read more

2000 Cadillac SLS,cooling problem.$1198.76 minus $38.50,$77.00,$46.20 spend on 5/17/2016...12/1/2016.. $164.74 spend, had to take car back on 6/2/2016 spend $849.90 minus $100.00 for hose.Parts where replaced one after the other,car still running hot...6/17/2016 $79.30 for thermostat,still running HOT!!.After spending the above to repair car just gave up trying to deal with Superior Auto.After all the years of using Superior Auto,I don't use them anymore...The worst part of this ordeal the car was never fixed! I went there needing an estimate for an insurance claim. The woman at the front desk (one of the owners) said something to the insurance adjuster that made them deny my claim. She is not a mechanic and spoke out-of-turn. On top of that, Superior charged me a fee for each day my vehicle was there. I have nothing nice that I can say about this business. read more

My grandma and I traveled all the way to Wilmington from Pennsylvania for my cousin's graduation at UNCW. The car started making a funny noise while we were down staying at Fort Fisher, and since we were worried about traveling back, we stopped by Superior Automotive.
