I have gone there multiple times throughout the years and the service & quality have dropped significantly to the point where I am done trying. State inspections - They say they perform them, well they don't. Their machine is always broken or they are understaffed and cannot get to it. Tried multiple times and it was always try again tomorrow and tomorrow never came. I ended up going else where. Oil Changes - If they have your oil filter and that's a big IF! Please make sure they change it. They changed my oil and didn't replace my oil filter. Why didn't they change my oil filter you ask...? Because they over tightened it the previous time they changed jt and couldn't get it off. I was sitting in my truck and it started rocking the guy below my truck goes "who changed this thing last time" as my truck continued to rock. The attendant upstairs to shouted back down with "us" and got a return back with an "oh" from the guy down below. I had to go back the next day to get the filter replaced. Overall the past 6 years 4 were good and the past 2 have been bad. Now they hardly proved the services you request and when they do it's not done the correct way. read more

We have 3 cars. Every time I come here to just do an inspection they tell me they are understaffed or machine is broken. Which is a bunch of BS. They just don't want to do it. When I come get an oil change and inspection the machine always works. That's the thing the machine never works when you just need an inspection. I've been coming here for 6 years. Fast and efficient for inspections.

I normally don't leave reviews... My husband and I come here regularly for oil changes, and usually service is fast and friendly. However, we both (on separate days) took our vehicles in for emissions testing and had unpleasant experiences with the same person. It's loud in there, but the tech was mumbling and annoyed when I couldn't understand his instructions or questions the first time. He acted very unprofessionally when he couldn't get the computer to process it the first times he tested (tried about 5 times) and pointed out the line-up of cars that were waiting on me, making it feel like my fault and saying it was my vehicle. Couldn't get a refund either. I pulled out, he serviced another car, then he called me back in and it worked first time. He had blamed my vehicle initially and said I needed to take it in somewhere to fix the part that wasn't allowing his system to read, but never offered an apology or explanation when it worked the second time around, just said we were done and I could leave. I was there for over an hour. I had to ask if everything was alright on my end and he only said "yeah" and hustled me out of there. If it was the computer or user-error, the polite thing would have been to explain that and apologize versus place blame on the customer's vehicle. I mentioned my experience to my husband when I got home, and turns out when we checked our reports we had the same person (Joel Rosario). He had been rude and moody to him as well. The guy seemed to have a big ego and really not wanting to be there. The whole experience made me feel uncomfortable and unnecessarily anxious. read more

This individual Valvoline station is probably fine when everything goes according to plan, but it can turn into a nightmare when it doesn't. My wife and I had a pretty bad experience with Valvoline when we brought our car in for an oil change and inspection on 11/3/23. They damaged our car and it had to go to a repair shop for about five days. They gave us the oil change for free, paid for the repairs, and told us they would reimburse a rental car while ours was in the shop. That was all reasonable and I wouldn't be here leaving a critical review if the story ended there. Unfortunately, it took five frustrating weeks and 10+ interactions with Valvoline to finally get reimbursement for the rental car. It's a long story, but here are some highlights of the more frustrating parts: * We were required to coordinate communications between Valvoline's own teams. They did not have someone driving resolution, so it fell on us to facilitate several steps of the process including getting the station to send a physical copy of our rental receipt to corporate and to seek station manager approval before Valvoline could issue a check to us. * Valvoline's primary source of internal communication was e-mail which dragged this on for weeks, whereas a phone call could have resolved it in minutes. For each step of obtaining the reimbursement, we had to contact general Valvoline Support who would then e-mail a manager on our behalf. There were at least three occasions where the manager never responded, meaning that no progress had been made when we followed up days/weeks later. And the only additional action the Support team offered was to send another email and hope to receive a response this time. * Despite asking several times for someone to contact us to discuss the situation, Valvoline reached out to us only once. And that was just to let us know that the manager who makes reimbursement decisions was on PTO until the following week. * Valvoline has car rental policies that they did not share with us when they damaged our car, which would have saved us weeks of frustration. It took three weeks of battling, but we finally received manager approval for rental car reimbursement. However, it was only for the base price of the rental ($650) and they explicitly denied reimbursement of the rental insurance ($150) portion of the bill. We were told something like "rent a car and Valvoline will reimburse it", but no one said anything about opting out of rental insurance or what type of car to get. So, it was additionally frustrating that, once again, no one from Valvoline called us to discuss the situation and instead made the decision to approve only a portion of the reimbursement. * It took another week and a half of Support sessions before finally getting the rental insurance reimbursed as well. The message was that they'd do it for us "this time", as though we should be thanking them for their generosity. It felt insulting. Overall, the most shocking part was Valvoline's lack of interest in resolving the situation. It felt like they wanted to sweep us under the rug rather than own the situation and admit their missteps. It's understandable that things go wrong when servicing cars, but it's important to ensure the customer is taken care of in those cases and Valvoline utterly failed. read more

I went in for a state inspection. They told me it would be a 30 minute wait so I waited. Then I watched two cars that arrived after me get called up first. If you get asked to wait, make sure you wait right in front of one of the bays. Otherwise they will forget about you. read more

We took in our truck to get a oil change today. They spilled oil all over the engine, skid plate. There are oily hand prints on front of truck, on the brand new air filter. Removed and replaced new new air filter we had just replaced without asking if it needed to be replaced. When we called they said they would wipe down the outside of the truck but not the engine and would give us a discount on the next oil change. Had to go down to self car wash to get oil off engine and truck. All that cost $80.00 with $10 coupon plus cost of car wash. If they can't do an oil change without spilling oil all over the engine etc. don't think I'll be bringing it back to Valvoline. They didn't seem very concerned about it when we called. Update: I'm happy to report that after posting this review here and reaching out on their corporate website the company was very responsive and made it right. I went in for a basic oil change (which I told them that was all I wanted and was told it would be a 10-15 min wait). After waiting a FULL hour with 2 small children in the car, and groceries in the back, they finally took me in. Again was told it would be 10-15 mins. After 30 mins of waiting in the waiting room and then coming to tell me everything I needed to fix on my car (which some of the things we had just replaced) and me who kept telling them no to extra purchases they were trying to push. (Probably because I'm a women) I finally watched them through the window the remaining time. One tech was in my passenger seat for an extended amount of time and I finally asked what he was doing. They said they were having trouble with the filter they took out. (Also the toilet inside didn't flush and they were out of toilet paper, and the floors were COVERED in oil which my daughter fell on and was covered in oil all over her legs.) finally they take me back to my car and refused to accept my coupon I had and charged me for extra oil (which now I'm not sure I even needed). Anyways, I get back in my car and the floor mats had oily footprints on them and so did my car handles. I'm ticked at this point. We live an hour away. 45 mins into my ride home one of the techs calls me saying he left his phone in my car and wanted me to bring it back. I said no, and he wanted my address which I refused to give him. I searched my car and found the phone in the passenger seat where he left it. My husband called the manager and he had no idea what was going on. Very frustrated and upset with this whole situation, which in all honesty could be a dangerous situation too. The whole phone thing is weird to me how they were handling it. Highly recommend NOT going here!!! Update: we have been in contact with both the location and corporate. The mom of the employee that left his phone in my car is threatening to press charges on us for not returning the phone. If there was an option to leave no stars then I would. This place destroyed my car. I have been bringing my car here for years. There was something different about this day. I am sure it's the fact that it's cold outside that they didn't want to be there. The attendant barely spoke to me. They changed the oil and that was it. I pulled onto 377 and my car started to die. My check engine light came on and my brake lights. I was barely able to make it home. My husband called the location and was transferred to customer service where he was told a manager would call him back the following morning. They called at noon and left no message. He was at work and unable to answer. NOW I HAVE NO CAR. The lights are still on and barely able to run! no one will call us back. Before taking my car there I had zero issues and no lights were on but after I was barely able to make it a couple of miles to my house. oil is leaking out of the car. The actual workers are the best but they need to fire Cedric, the assistant manager ASAP! They evidentially had a new cashier who was asking her boss question and he literally went off on her in front of a lobby full of customers. He told her to shut up and that her opinion didn't matter. He was loud and degrading and so out of line. The cashier started crying and couldn't work when all the customers were sticking up for her. He poked his head back in and told her to go home. Update: Valvoline called a tow truck as my car was not drivable with the splash shield hanging off and partially wedged under my car, and towed it from my house to a Volkswagen dealer and paid for the splash shield to be replaced. Valvoline made all the arrangements for the tow truck and at the VW dealership and they paid the bills directly. I am pleased by their handling of the issue afterwards. The manager of the Valvoline store personally handled everything and even went to the VW dealer. read more

Looking at other reviews it's obvious this place has gone downhill. $120 (with a coupon) for a full service synthetic oil change. Would've cost me only $90 at the dealer but I guess you pay for convenience. However, at least at the dealer they are honest about mileage. A synthetic oil change and the sticker they gave me says I need a new one in 2,000 miles or 3 months. I got my first oil change for my new car at the dealer and they told me 8,000 or 9 months. That's a huge discrepancy for the same type of oil used. I tried calling after I left to get an explanation and the phone just beeps and there's not even a ring tone. I've gone here a few times but will not be back again. I'd rather be inconvenienced than told I need to spend another $120 in just 8 weeks or less. read more

This place can only still be open because there's nothing else close by. Mostly kids running and working it. Terrible customer service and no real mechanic that I could see. The kid that came inside to talk to me (like every shop does, after they look at your vehicle for a couple minutes) could only have felt comfortable speaking to me if he assumed I knew nothing about my truck. I could 100% tell that he had no idea what he was doing. Sold me one light bulb for $25 and said I needed to buy another one but they didn't have a second one so he recommended I just buy my own because I could get one at O'Reilly's for $5 or $10. Lol dude, you just sold me one for $25?! It's hard these days to find any business that cares about customer service so I get that, but they should at least be knowledgeable about an extremely common part on an even more common truck. He seriously asked me which light was out while we were standing in front of my truck where the light was out.... not even kidding. Same kid tried to talk another customer out of getting an oil change because the wait was going to be so long and made him retrieve his insurance paperwork from the vehicle before he would take it in. Crazy. It would be worth it to look on yelp for somewhere that has knowledgeable staff. Kwik Kar Lantana is better as far as having actual grown ups that have some product knowledge and auto experience. I have had my oil changed and inspections done here on my 3 vehicles since it became valvolene. After my last oil change I drove to Southlake and noticed a large puddle of oil underneath my vehicle. Looked underneath and the oil filter was loose. I tightened it by hand and drove back to Valvolene. I picked it up later the filter was tightened buy when I checked the oil they did not even top off the lost oil. No discount, no partial refund. Really disappointing service. read more

Months ago, I had an oil leak problem and had the leak fixed (or so I thought) at another place. The staff at Valvoline in Argyle are much closer and didn't hesitate to answer our multiple questions, even took a look at my car. We have been there multiple times for oil changes and the staff are consistently courteous, quick to respond and knowledgeable. Again, today they helped me out after a drain plug failed. I went in for an inspection at 2:30 and a woman came to my car and said that they could not do the inspection because "ALL" of the inspectors were about to leave, including her. She said that they had 2 more cars to inspect and they were not adding anymore. Now it is again only 2:30 in the afternoon. the store hours are 8am to 7 pm. Why are they not doing the services they advertise. I explained to her that I did not have another day off until Christmas and she said that there was nothing that she could do. Terrible service! Incompetent technicians! I took my vehicle in for an oil change, later noticed oil leaking from my vehicle and found drain plug to be loose. Also found oil had been spilled all over my motor. After a more thorough examination I found the drain plug had been cross threaded. When I took my vehicle back for a resolution they immediately denied responsibility and refused to correct their mistake. I highly recommend anyone to reconsider doing business here!! **Also recently discovered that I have a missing brake caliper bolt from when brake pads were replaced a few months back.
