I tend to be a fan of the Valvoline Instant Oil Change chain. While I live in Lawrence, I've been spending a lot of time on the west part of Central Indiana due to my father's being in hospice and his passing this week. On my way to his house to work on some pre-funeral things, I noticed the car was driving a bit weirdly. While it was a bit early for my oil change, my car is getting older and I've lately had to get my oil change earlier. Avon is right on the way. So, on the way home from a day of processing belongings and dealing with paperwork I opted to stop in for an oil change. I pulled in behind a car that was already in the bay. This is a two-bay center. To be honest, we were initially looking at a 4-star review. I wasn't initially greeted upon arrival and waited a few minutes. After the car in front was finished, I was motioned in. However, as my visit continued it began to improve quite a bit. I dealt with two employees - not sure of names - a young female (Trinity is on the receipt) and a male. Both were quite friendly and professional. I got the conventional oil change. I had a coupon. I also ended up getting the cabin air filter replaced and two tag lights. I didn't feel pressured. In fact, while a serpentine belt was recommended they didn't have a certified tech for that when I arrived. The visit took longer than usual. They were thorough and had difficulty putting the tag lights back as the bolts had rusted a bit. They also were attempting to reset my oil service light (receipt says this was complete; it wasn't. They couldn't actually figure it out as my 2012 Kia is rather unique. However, I was impressed with how much effort they put into it.). The level of service convinces me to up this to a 5-star review. Yes, there were minor issues. However, I feel these were overcome with quality service, fair pricing (including discounts), and a car that was running much better when I left than when I got there. Ultimately, I was pleased. While I do prefer to get a greeting when I arrive, once the service started everything was stellar and I'm sticking with a 5-star review. read more

I've been going to Valvoline for a while and have always had good experiences, but my last visit left me disappointed. I drive a Kia Carnival and have always brought my own oil filters since I know they don't stock them. They've been doing my oil changes for the past year without an issue. When I went in on Monday around 5 PM, there was no one in the bay, but the person in charge told me they couldn't do the oil change because it was "too hard" and might take 30 minutes. I've never had a problem before, so this was surprising. Honestly, it came across as a lazy mindset rather than a real issue. Unfortunately, I won't be returning. read more

Always prompt, courteous, quality for price. Service doesn't take to long. I went for a basic oil change service.

Get all my company vehicles done in Plainfeild by this company never a issue, was told 15 mins then they had to do a tire rotation so they was gonna move us around to keep us in order he said just wait here and when they pull up I will move ya over a car from 4 vehicles back came around everyone and got right in line and the manager let him right in after telling the other guy to keep everyone in order then came due to extra service on one vehicle. I hope Plainfeild has a separate owner if not we will be taking our business elsewhere. read more

I almost passed this up since I thought it would be to expensive. I was wrong! It was reasonably priced with a coupon. The customer service alone was top notch! I will be going back! I did have to wait a little bit but they keep checking on me. The service was quick once it but in all fairness it was a little bit of a line. When I did get in everything was quick and they talked me through the process which I appreciated. Don't pass this one up especially with the great customer service! read more

The service was great. Compared to dealer service centers this place is a refreshing change. I went in for an oil change and tire rotation. They looked up the vehicle information from Carfax and said that I was not due for one. They could have done the true rotation and I would not have been wiser. I appreciated that level of honesty. The staff were friendly and courteous. I have lived in Avon for 12 years and this place is less than a mile away from our house. I wish I had discovered them sooner. read more

This was my second time at the Avon, Indiana location and I was really happy with my service today. I was greeted quickly, given a very reasonable wait time and waited maybe 4 or 5 minutes before pulling in for my oil change. All of the staff were very friendly and courteous. Very great service was greeted and attended well. To begin with Took less than 30 minutes to get my oil change and filter change which is amazing. They also check for tire pressure and any other liquid your car needs. They make sure everything is in good condition. And they even recommended what your car needs. I was about to travel for work and realized I really needed to get the oil changed in my car. I initially tried to take it to the dealership like I always have in the past. They are only taking appointments. Well crap.... out comes my Yelp app to find another place and up pops Valvoline. I was able to get right in and they were so polite and kind. I also asked if they could rotate my tires and yes they were. I used a $10 off coupon and they did not try to up-sale me on anything. They checked fluids, filters, lights and my battery. I came here for a simple tire rotation and was told my truck was too heavy for the lift. I drive a normal sized truck. I'm well aware tire rotations are not a fun job. Not happy that I had to reschedule it after I left work early and wasted my time. Ended up taking it to a different place down the road, who used the same lift lol. read more

The crew at this location was so friendly and easy going. Jorge, Patrick, Ethan and Jacob were great! I was stressing out about being able to get my headlight changed before they closed and they were done with my car even before I knew it.
