The team worked fast and changed the oil well. They were friendly and kind. It was also nice that you can stay in your vehicle the whole time. The oil change did take a while partially due to them pumping/draining for quite some time, then they have to queue the oil bottles for double check before putting it in your car and then waiting for a admin to ask about upgrading/ filter change. Omgoodness. I should've checked the reviews but I had a Groupon so ‍ came on a Sunday and I had called beforehand asking if they could take me if I came at 5:30Pm. They close at 6. They said they'll accept anyone as long as you come before 6. Initially a team member told me it would be around 10 more minutes for the car in front of me (actually was 50 minutes). Total time: 5:30pm-7:10 for an oil change. Absolutely ridiculous. Anthony the manager has zero management skills. Literally, 3 open bays and 1 guy per bay. I asked them to check tire pressure DURING the oil change to save time. The manager said he doesn't have guys available who some guys are literally just standing there with idle time as they're waiting on oils being changed. It's not only the fact that it took so long but I told the Anthony he needs to tell his crew not to tell customers misleading times. One team member said it'll be 30 mins and even had the audacity to say "it'll be even faster since you have me doing it." *eyeroll* what a joke!!!!! I supposedly got a $20 discount for next oil change but let me tell you: save yourself a lot of pain and don't come here even if you get $20 or a Groupon! These negative yelp reviews aren't lies. Went here as my usual spot kept being way booked and it was passed time for my cars oil change. Rolled right in with no appointment needed, had some very nice tech's greet me and asked me about car the services I was asking for. A very young-looking team, but professional. The team quickly went to work on my car, one young man examining for other possible issues while the other began the actual service change. So true to advertised, the whole thing took 15 minutes, give or take. No need to even get out of your car. It may have helped that I was at the time, only person getting service in the bays. I appreciate the speed and professionalism. I'd consider coming back especially to save time. Only critique I have is that the service is a little more expensive than my usual spot. I have many complaints with the Bellevue Valvoline: - I got overcharged $15.39 for extra oil when I never agreed to that. - Mechanic tried to upsell me for a $180 Transmission oil change when my car doesn't need it (I literally replaced it 6 months ago) - Took 2 hours (1 hour for waiting, 1 hour for the full synthetic oil change) - Mechanics did not do some of the maintenance checks that are included for free in the oil change purchase such as Tire Pressure. Overall, as a customer, I feel taken advantage and misled. I'm not an idiot and they tried to overcharge me with stuff my car doesn't need and they didn't do the proper checks on my car. Don't go to this place if you have a skid plate they suggest their customers to get rid of their skid plates and it can damage their cars and can ruin their engine or who knows what else everything that the skid plate protects I've gone here for about a year I have a 2021 handa crv I thought maybe it's a honest mistake but then it kept happening after each oil change my skid plate falls off and I kept asking them to put it on correctly and to put it back on properly and it ruins the car that they don't take accountability for and a couple months ago was my last straw when it fell from them not putting it on correctly as I was driving and it's a driving hazard and dangerous for you and other drivers and your car and it crumpled my skid plate completely and handa had to replace my whole skid plate that costed $600 to replace all because vavoline does not know anything about skid plates so if you have a skid plate on your car on any model or make if your car don't go here they can put a big price tag to your wallet. read more

Absolutely the worst experience ever at Valvoline, and I'll never go back. Over 90 minutes waiting to just get in a bay. Had to ask to have my air filter and tire pressure checked, and was greeted with total attitude the entire time. Then, within minutes of leaving the bay, the check engine light comes on, and the car stalls and shuts off. I went back, and Issac plugged in some device to check error codes, came back with nothing, and sent me on my way. Total disrespect and said there was nothing he could do. Offered no guidance or ideas and walked off. Never again. Now the car is at the dealer getting serviced, and a total inconvenience, and I had to pay $150.00 for the oil change, plus towing fee, and now a dealer fee.....thanks, Valvoline. read more

You know when you're at the grocery store or a drive thru with multi lanes, and you always seem to pick the wrong line as you watch other people who chose other lines go through faster then you do? Well, I picked right today! By far the fastest line, lane 1, hehehe. This place always seems to invoke a review from me every time I visit. Today, may be a defensive post for the business as I suspect there MIGHT be a few pissed off customers who chose the wrong lane. Day after Turkey Day (today) my oil level is at 15%, perfect timing, Valvoline sent me a 20% off coupon (they are really good at that) so I hopped on over. First time ever, I barely could get into the driveway as cars were lined up. Bad timing, holidays or something I had no qualms about it. Perfect time to do some reading and lol'ing on tiktok. All 3 lanes were filled, 3 cars deep. The person in front of me decided to move forward to hover over lanes 2 and 3 (good choice it would seem), so I made the commitment to lane 1 with 2 cars in front of me. Boy.......that first car took 30 minutes, 2nd car took 25 + I waited another 10 minutes before being able to choose lane 1. DANG! thats an hour before getting into the bay! My car took 22 minutes. Straight oil change only. The car in front of me that hovered on lane 2,3 took lane 3 and was still one car back when I drove out and finished! Perhaps those other lanes just had additional things being done but things like changing and air filter is like 30 seconds. Manager told me they were understaffed today, I counted 6 or 7 people up top, who knows how many underground. He was very courteous, professional, friendly and knew about customer service and care behavior knowing some people might be getting mad. Once you drive in and committed with this many cars, you're committed, trapped unless you're on the lane 3 and can go around and out. I thought the manager did a great job trying to be empathetic. This time they have a new contraption (pictured) that kept me intrigued like a baby in a crib, staring endlessly at this thing while it took out the old oil. They have a good thing going here, and my car always drives smoother after every oil change. I also never check my tire pressure, until every oil change and they always hook me up with the right PSI. Quality first and I have no problem waiting. But next time if I see the driveway full like that, I'm skipping and returning another day :) read more

The staff seemed overwhelmed and extremely disorganized. They didn't know who had checked my tires--or even if anyone had checked them--or whether the battery had been inspected. At one point, they even asked me if I had seen anyone check my tires. When it was finally time for my oil change, one of the workers spilled oil inside my car. Instead of owning up to it, they kept wiping it down and nervously asking coworkers if it was "okay," clearly trying to play it off. To make matters worse, they removed my air filter, left it out, and kept debating among themselves whether they should recommend replacing it. The worst part of the experience was their blatant attempt to upsell me on a $129 service that wasn't appropriate for my car. They "highly recommended" a service meant for vehicles with over 100,000 miles (mine has 60,000) or over 10 years old (mine is eight). When I asked to take a photo of the screen showing the recommendation so I could consult a mechanic, they refused, saying it would be included on my bill. It wasn't. After waiting over 45 minutes for a service that felt rushed, disorganized, and untrustworthy, I left feeling completely disappointed. I'm not even confident that all the necessary services were completed. Save yourself the frustration--go elsewhere, even if it costs more. This location is simply not worth it. read more

Absolute shocker and untrained staff. The operator connected the negative to positive, blowing up a bunch of fuses, car did not start, held at the garage for 24+ hrs and even then did not get the fuse to fix the music system and speakers. These are such Rookie mistakes for a Branded store. They tried their best but seemed they're just not trained. I was given a complete waiver on the charges but will never be back. It needed 2 mins to get the rest of the fuses changed that I did myself after a simple Microsoft Copilot prompt. read more

They provided a list of services that they recommended I get checked at some point in the future, but there was absolutely no pressure to do any additional services at the current moment. Disappointed with how long we were here for. Waited 45 minutes before we were able to drive in for the oil change and then the oil change itself took at least 45 minutes. We were told the oil changes were taking 20 minutes. They then decided to see how fast they could change someone's oil - got them in & out in 8 minutes. There seems to be enough employees here, but too many people sitting around chatting & not working. A friend showed up and all employees ran out to say hi and left every vehicle/customer waiting. I came back way too soon for an oil change again and to save me money the guy servicing me took a look at all my stuff under the hood and didn't want to take advantage of me and told me to be honest your looking tip top still. No need to spend money on another oil change already and to come back at another time. I was so appreciative of that. It's been a long time since I've had an honest person not trying to take advantage of me and actually try to help me SAVE money rather then not caring and taking my money. No issues with oil change, however I had them do a trannie flush and they way overfilled it. This PERMANENTLY DAMAGED my transmission. When I went back to have them remove some of the fluid. The incredibly stupid manager on duty told me that the shifting problem was caused from the flush "washing away the metal from the gears, I've seen it before". Been here twice but probably won't come back because of the time. They have a sign that says 15 minute service but I haven't seen it. Both times I waited 45-60 minutes before they even took my car and then it took an hour. So I was here for almost 2 hours which I do not think is good. There really isn't anything "instant" about this place. There weren't even a lot of cars in front of me. I did see people after me kind of cutting in line too, there wasn't a semblance of a line and no one at the place was doing anything about it. I think the prices are good but there are a lot of other options in the area. I absolutely hate getting my oil changed because I don't think waiting for 2 hours is right but there are other places that do it much faster. I used my lunch hour to get an oil change. There are 3 lines and I picked one randomly since each line had 1 car in the service garage. After waiting for 20mins, a white car pull up to the next line and after another 15mins, he was in the service garage and I'm still waiting. The rep was still talking to the car in front of me and it's been at least 1hrs of talking before they started servicing the car. The white car spent 40mins and left and I'm still waiting! I was not happy. I got out and told them that I've been waiting for almost 2hrs in the freezing cold car. The service guy was courteous and offered me 20% off additional services. The manager said they are short staff because one of his guy died. I told him I'm sorry but someone should at least tell me why it's taking me so long especially since I was in line before the white car was done and I'm still waiting. The line up is not efficient. Customer should get a number and be on a first come first serve basis. And the cars should be inspected and owners informed of what they need while they are waiting. So much better than Jiffy Lube. And the price before discount was 53 for an oil change. Took my Prius into the Valvoline shop at 34724 Pacific Highway South, Federal Way on 10/29/20 for an oil change. They recommended that the air filter be changed as well, which I said OK. A few minutes after leaving I got a message on my cars screen that something was wrong with my hybrid system. A few seconds later the engine stopped. I thought it shouldn't be because of the oil change, it must be something else. Not knowing what was wrong with my car, I called the Toyota dealer who said that I would need to have it tow in to the shop and they would look at it. When I pick up my car the next day at the dealer they said that someone had taken off the air intake hose was not attached correctly. They asked if I had changed the filter, I told them that Valvoline Instant Oil Change in Federal Way had. The Toyota dealer reattached the intake hose and reset the sensors. So, because Valvoline Instant Oil Change did not correctly attached the intake hose, my car shut down. I told Gilby (the supervisor in charge at Valvoline Instant Oil Change in Federal Way) about it and gave him a copy to the Toyota dealer's bill. He said someone would contact me within 3 to 5 business days to reimburse me for the repairs needed because they didn't do their job correctly. 8 days after the incident I hadn't heard anything from anyone from Valvoline, I called and take to Gilby again, who referred me to the manager Brett. Brett told me that they would NOT reimburse me for anything. Since I didn't call them first. At the time it happened I had no idea the problem was caused my the Valvoline shop. I've never had an issue after getting an oil change anywhere, ever, it's just an oil change and air filter replacement, not that hard to do. I found out from the dealer that the problem was solely caused by the Valvoline shop not attaching the intake hose correctly. I will NEVER go back to Valvoline. I strongly DO NOT recommend anyone taking their car to Valvoline Bob read more
