Be aware that their $59.00 bumper to bumper coupon may cost you more dependent on the make of your car. Because my VW Tiguan took six quarts of oil I ended up paying $75.83 for this bumper to bumper service. I have no problem with the quality of the service, but I do have a problem with the deceptive nature of the coupon. No where on the coupon does it state a limit of quarts or coupon is only good for up to five quarts. This reeks of "bait and switch" and they should make the language on their coupon state it is only good for five quarts. read more

They keep deleting every review I leave so I'm here on yelp where they can't remove it no matter how butt hurt they are about it. They removed and replaced 2 transmissions incorrectly fixed a flywheel causing my clutch to be burnt up resulting in them having to get an entire new clutch for the car. They told me to drive on a flywheel where any gear it would slip and not stay in gear, causing unknown damage to my brand new transmission from mazda japan I had waited 3 and a half MONTHS FOR. You read that right. They choose the slowest shipping option and made me wait that long.. I recored the tech in the drive saying that the slipping was normal for a new flywheel....they will lie. They will decieve. They will judge you on appearance. They left my car with 3 miles of gas and the first time they swapped my transmission my interior piece was still hanging off. They are a nightmare to go to and this was all WARRANTY WORK for my maxcare carmax warranty. They should've never got my business. Be like me, stay smart and avoid scummy business like these!!! Message to ProTech - DELETING LOW REVIEWS MAKES YOU LOOK SO BAD DO NOT GO HERE UNLESS YOU WANT YOUR CAR TO COME BACK TO YOU WITH ISSUES THAT WERENT THERE BEFORE!! my boyfriend and I took his car in to get a new transmission placed in his mazda. the AC, clutch, and flywheel did not need to be replaced. they kept the car for over a month, installed the new transmission wrong so it messed up the flywheel. we noticed it as soon as we left and called them not 15 minutes later. they told us it was fine and we needed to drive it for a week and then to come back if it wasn't fixed. shocker, it wasn't fixed so we came back. since they told us to drive it the clutch was now messed up BECAUSE the transmission wasn't installed right. they then charged us to fix the flywheel and the clutch THAT THEY MESSED UP!! at this point I jumped in and started talking to the owner on the phone and he said he was going to fix it. the office people and the techs were incredibly rude. blaming us for this and when I was the one talking they wouldn't even look at me and turned and answered my questions to my bf and not me. I had to say multiple times to them "i'm the one you're talking to, not him" The girl in the front is the rudest and will give you so much attitude and talk about you as you're standing right there. the issue got resolved with us paying for their mistakes. like how is that great customer service. also the second time we get it back the AC doesn't work magically in the middle of summer. we voiced our grievances on facebook and they blocked us and deleted the comments! they then called my boyfriend harassing him many times, but are asking for reviews so here we are. we have every in person conversation and phone call recorded. we recorded the drive along, the phone, in person all of it. we have every word exchanged recorded. we have screenshots of them deleting our comments and records of them calling us multiple times this morning harassing us for leaving bad reviews have fun paying to get this one taken down, like you have removed all of our other comments and reviews warning people. we will now be reaching out to the BBB to report this! read more

I've been coming to ProTech for my auto needs for nearly ten years now. There was this one time I strayed from ProTech, and I paid dearly. I ended up eventually having to buy a new car because the damage done from the Midas Eastgate was irreparable. While I'm still bitter to this day (7 years later), I take my car that I bought afterwards to ProTech only, and she always is treated well. My most recent visit was because my air conditioning went out. I didn't have an appointment, but they were able to get me in without one and fix the issue within 3 hours. Keep in mind this turnaround is not typical because the time it takes for your car to be serviced depends greatly on the problem and what existing cars and appointments they have to take care. However, the latest I've ever received my car was next day. I rarely make an appointment more than a day in advance so this is extremely impressive. The customer service is responsive and helpful. They give you text and email updates about your vehicle in addition to calling you the moment it's finished. If you're waiting on your car, they have a little area with complimentary coffee and soft drinks. I'm not sure if they still offer this, but there's been a time or two where they drove me back to my house and picked me up when my service was completed! That was especially cool because those particular times the wait for my car was much longer than I care to sit in a small waiting room. I'm not sure if the pricing for ProTech is competitive. Truthfully, I suspect they're priced a tad higher than the close competition. I think that it's worth it though. In addition to mail coupons that are constantly sent to me, they also always have online deals on their website. After the generous coupon options, their prices are likely on par or even lower than other auto techs. Plus, I know I can trust ProTech with my car's life. My family has been taking our cars to here for years, and I learned the hard way that there's simply no comparison for the service that's offered here. My car needed a new starter. I liked that I could pay the bill for getting it towed and the bill for the work all on one check. I got text notifications with updates about my vehicle while it was being worked on. I would highly recommend staying clear of this business. My daughter took her car there when it was overheating. They seemed pretty thorough with pictures and descriptions and suggesting a new water pump and serpentine belt. ~$800 and a day later the car was still overheating. My daughter called back to have them look again (minus the 2nd diagnostics charge) and they hung up on her ! Took it to another mechanic and it was a $15 thermostat. Beware !! read more

Also returned back to have the transmission fluid changed. This must be a family-owned place, because they didn't come off with the snooty "hey you need absolutely everything done right this minute and we're gonna charge you like crazy for it" vibe, which I can always pick up on. Love their friendly and knowledgeable staff, reasonable prices and helpful guidance. Free coffee is a really nice touch too. They didn't try to sell me anything, which I greatly appreciate. They had a nice spread of coffee, creamers and flavors, as well as soda and water. Love this place & know it's the people that make it great. I called this morning needing something small, but necessary done at the last minute today. They fit me in the schedule, let me know just what was involved and what it would cost (hate surprises!) and then did the oil change I'd been too busy to schedule, plus the courtesy safety inspection, before I could finish writing this review. We're budget conscious and need reliability. We usually buy a good low-mileage used car (after the Protech folks look it over) and take good care of our investment. We sometimes drive a car well past 200,000 miles before looking for another one. Many times they've advised us which repairs were necessary and which could safely be delayed and budgeted for later. We've trusted ProTech with a Volvo, VW, Toyota (plus that one minivan that would never die so we finally gave it away) and now my Honda. Even though we have a very good dealership nearby, I prefer Protech's reasonable prices, timely service and the personal care we've gotten here for so many years. Almost thirty years ago, after a sudden divorce left me with a teenage car (and son) to take care of, my neighbor turned me on to Protech. I had been going way across town for a mechanic I'd learned to trust. I've told many people how happy we've always been with the quality and, most of all, honesty of the folks at Protech. They know us and our cars. I never even think of doing comparative pricing. You get value for your money here. Plus, got to love those Reach coupons and occasional gift cards!
