Went to get an oil change on my truck. Overall you could tell the moral was low. They were all moving very slow. Which is fine I get it, it was towards the end of the day. But, I started my truck and a warning light when on. We were able to figure out that a cord got cut while my air filter was getting inspected. The manger was very helpful and we fixed it. Super professional, very articulate and provided exceptional attention to detail service. I provided a synopsis of my car's oil change indicator and he opened the door, guided my car through the bay door making certain the tires clear the bay space below. I was driving my Son's car and noticed it was due for an oil change, so I pulled in to Valvoline. They noticed that the inspection was due this month and offered to run the emissions and registration too. After killing two birds with one stone, when closing the hood they noticed that the hood latch was not closing securely. They asked me if that was and old problem, and I told them I didn't know, since my son is usually the driver. They proceeded to spend almost 20 more minutes with screwdrivers and needle nose pliers to try to get the spring attached properly. They finally determined that the securing bolt had come loose, found a replacement in their tool chest, replaced it and sent me in my way with no extra charge! I bought a Groupon for a full-synthetic oil change since the Subaru dealer charges far too much and never really offers good discounts. Bummer that the nearest Valvoline locations to Lehi are 20mins+ out. No matter -- I trust Valvoline every time with my oil changes and any other service they offer, so I'll make that drive willingly. I never feel like they BS or pressure me into anything which is incredibly important. I pulled up and only waited a couple minutes until work started on my car. I was told that the Groupon price had not been updated yet, so I was charged "a couple bucks extra" on top of the $54.99 I paid. No big deal. I was happy to have had my cabin filter changed for $35 -- I had no idea that thing even existed... so goes without saying that thing was filthy! That thing has been in my car since the fires/hazardous smoke periods in the PNW. I'm sure the dealer would have charged more. I have used this place before and had a good experience but after today will never go back and I will let everyone else know not to go there. I drove my truck there and pulled into the shop for an oil change, shut it off and started it multiple times while there. They then proceeded to work on vehicle and when they asked me to start the truck it would not start, then proceeded to tell me that I need a battery. Great part is I have had zero problems until they touched it. The manager Zach told me that sorry it's not there fault, even though I started it multiple times before they worked on it, asked to speak to someone else about it but no one would talk to me. They would not take responsibility for anything and here I drive my vehicle in but can't leave until I buy a battery from them. Had another place look and confirmed no leak but a really sloppy oil change and they spilled a bunch of oil. Then decided to give them another chance, they are really fast. Apparently too fast. Wow! This was the easiest, most stress free oil change I have ever gotten! Usually I have my husband take my car in for the oil change. I know nothing about cars (except what I need to know to drive mine around) and I always feel like I get up charged on everything or told that I need this or that to be replaced. It stresses me out because I don't know what they are talking about and if my filter really needs to be changed or not. I went to Valvoline because I knew I wanted to avoid jiffy lube and this was the next closest place. I pulled right in. There are two cameras that show you exactly what they are doing to your car at all times. Right away he started explain what the manufacturer recommends on my vehicle and gives me a price immediately while other people from the team were checking everything. He brought out the air filter and said that I could probably get it changed on the next oil change!! What!!? No up sale!? This is a first! I watched the whole oil change happen. And it only took 14 minutes! Before I left, they checked to make sure no oil was leaking from the change. This is amazing too because last time my husband had his oil changed at another place, we had oil ALL over our garage the next day. Called that place and they told us it was just what had spilled over. I'm not lying when I say for four days, I had to use up a whole thing of paper towels trying to clean all that oil off of our garage floor. It was so much oil. I couldn't believe it. And also made me wonder how much we paid for that oil that was now all over our garage. The fact that Valvoline checks little details like that, is what will make me a customer for life! Today was my worst experience to date with Valvoline. Took my Ford F-150 for an oil change. When I arrived, there was one other car in the other bay, and I was able to pull right into the second bay. After 10 minutes or so, the technician said someone would be with me. Another 30 minutes later, a technician said, "we don't know how to take off the oil filter." Of course, I was quite puzzled at this. After all, it's the main part of doing oil changes. Finally, after the crew finished serving two other vehicles that came in after me, someone figured out how to get the oil filter off. 10 minutes later, they were sending me out the door. I politely asked if they were going to check my other fluids and my tire pressure. The technician said, "Oh, they didn't do that?" The running clock on the video monitor is now at 55 minutes, and there was only one other car there when I pulled in. I expressed my disappointment for having to wait almost an hour,and the technician said, "This is a new crew, and no one knew how to change the oil filter. Wow! I mean, Valvoline says they are certified technicians, so I would think changing an oil filter would be part of that certification. To top it off, they didn't close my hood all the way, which came up while I was on the freeway!! Thank God I was in the right-hand lane and was able to pull over quickly and close the hood. Not only have they damaged my car several times, but they have the WORST customer service. This place is like the Chick-Fil-A of oil changing places. They are quick ( from pulling in to pulling out was 7 minutes) kind and courteous. I get to stay in my car ( as a mom of 4 little kids this is HUGE), and I get to watch them work on the bottom and engine of my car with live feeds.
