All the eletrical in our car went out we assumed we needed a battery which is something we change out every few years because Vegas summers are brutal. We changed it out but the battery light kept flashing on and off we thought we need to drive the car so the battery can juice up the car. We drove from Provo to SLC for a graduation and on our way back at around 9000 S. the electrical started going out again and we pulled over at a Maverick. We were told after making a call to a shop that its probably the alternator considering the battery change didnt fix the issue. They also told us that they werent available to take it until the next week which wasnt an option for us because we had to get back for work. I went on Yelp and Best Buds Mobile service popped up with 5 star reviews so I called. The gentleman that answered was genuine as explained that we thought it was the alternator. He gave me a quote that was within what I was willing to pay. I asked him if he had a number to a tow place so I can get it towed to them. He said "its ok we come to you". I was surprised but then "duh" it says "mobile" in their name. He also told me it would probably be about and hour and a half for them to repair. WHAT! It really did seem too good to be true. The shop we had previously called quoted us double what these guys quoted. They literally showed up within 30 min they arrived at that Maverick parking lot and probably less than the time frame he told me it would take them to fix it we were on our way back to Provo and now we are home and our car is running perfectly! These guys are a gem! I Googled the cost to replace the alternator and they were within the range. So Im going to say they are honest. I wish they were in in Vegas. But now we know if there are any car repair needs for us when in Utah or our family we will be reffering Best Buds Mobile Services. However, they told me to come back with in 30 days when I get the issue fixed and they wouldn't charge me another inspection fee. I came today to finally get it passed, and apparently all locations are permanently closed. I tried calling all the phone numbers to get some kind of help and no one answered. All maps and website list them as open still. I feel robbed of my $40 and I'm mad no one gave me a warning they'd be shutting down permanently. I want a refund.

But them suddenly one morning (just a few hours before kids' long awaited doctor's s appointment of course!) my Honda van won't start...it seemed like my battery was down. I called couple of mechanic shops but none of them could squeeze me in for same day check up. But when I called the State Automotive and explained them my situation, Dustin told me that they will do an inspection on my battery ASA I reach them and will change it if needed. Long story short...after going there I found out that the previous mechanic who changed the battery and gave me a "Napa" battery (found the info in the receipt), & then charged me for it and the service in 2017 actually DID NOT replace my original Honda battery from 2013 :/ When I asked, Dustin was super nice and took pictures of the old battery and wrote a description for me so I can show that to the old mechanic and texted me those later that day. I really appreciate the help and (quick) service they provided me that day, and thanks to them I was able to make to the doctor's appointment on time :) Thank you so much for all great service! They told me my car was great and didn't need any additional work. I feel extra good about going on a road trip now! AND they have free hot cocoa. Any place with a free treat means my kids aren't mad about coming with me and waiting! PS- their parking lot is pretty "intimidating" (employee's words) but they were cool with me abandoning my car where there was space and at the end they helped me get my car into position for an easy exit so don't be afraid to ask! I will visit them again…read more While in the waiting room for an emissions check, a lady came in for an oil change and added, "can you check my brakes? Another shop told me I'd need new front pads by the next oil change." When the tech reported back, he did two things that impressed me. First, he provided her with the most professional and informative description of her situation I've heard. As a result, she was able to make informed decisions. Second, even though she set him up for recommending a brake job (another tech said she'd need brakes; it doesn't get much easier to sell brakes than to confirm his finding), he said she didn't need new brakes this time and may not need new pads during her next visit. He went on to explain that a new pad for her card would generally be about 11mm thick and she had 5-6mm remaining, or almost half of her pad's life. He said he would check it during her next oil change but she could still get plenty of miles out of them. I hadn't been to a JL for about 15 years because of how corporate mgmt responded to an expose years ago; however, I was impressed by the professionalism and honesty of this shop and expect to return for routine maintenance items.

I came here hoping to knock out a quick oil change before getting a car wash…read more After the techs spent about 10 minutes trying to upsell me on items from the "inspection" that I didn't request, they informed me that they had already drained my oil but couldn't replace the filter because the skid plate bolts were stripped and they couldn't get it off. This was right after I heard their torque wrench audibly destroy the bolts. They admitted that they had indeed stripped out the bolts trying to remove them. To make it worse they told me that while they wouldn't charge for the oil filter they would still charge me for the oil. I explained that it makes no sense to pay for the oil if I have to go right back somewhere else and have it drained again in order to replace the filter. After arguing they went back down and worked on the bolts and were able to finally get them off and replace the filter. But now the bolts were stripped and they couldn't put the skid plate back on safely! They claim to have called around looking for new bolts but couldn't find any. They did their best to re-attach the skid plate with just a few partially stripped bolts. So now I have to go have the skid plate removed again and reattached with new bolts. And they charged me full price for everything even though they stripped my bolts. What should have been an easy oil change has note resulted in a big headache for me. Avoid this place!
