Swindled and taken advantage of would be the feeling most patrons of this Jiffy Lube would have if they had some sort of knowledge about automobile repairs. Beware, the service menu here has tremendous depth and breadth and their team will unleash all the available options at you. In fact, they work quite hard at trying to be persuasive. I will site three specific examples about my issues with this particular Jiffy Lube location. Once you read what I have to say, you will definitely take a defensive position on your next service visit. 1. They tried to upsell me from conventional oil to synthetic oil options. While I understand the value in synthetic motor oil, and I know synthetic motor oil is a superior product, it's not something that I choose to do in this particular vehicle. The real issue here is the lie that was told to me. The Service writer/salesman went so far as to tell me that using conventional motor oil would void my manufacturers warranty on the vehicle. Not true! After leaving Jiffy Lube, I immediately looked in my owners manual and confirmed the fact that conventional motor oil is OK in my vehicle. 2. They recommended I purchase an engine oil system flush. The reality is, Engine oil system flushed are definitely not recommended by the manufacturer and they could cause engine damage not covered by the vehicle warranty. That warning came directly from my vehicle's owners manual. It is my understanding that engine oil flushes are likely to cause more problems than they solve. If you change your oil every 5000 miles your engine should be well protected. The salesman never looked at my engine oil when he made the recommendation for an engine oil flush. 3. The salesman told me that my coolant level in the reservoir was completely empty. He would fill up the coolant for $8.95. Knowing how to check my cars engine coolant level, I declined his offer. Later in the evening I checked my radiator and coolant reservoir, both were completely full. Another crystal clear example of a situation where they were trying to take advantage of a customer. I feel bad for customers coming here and being sold car maintenance they don't need - including every kind of flush. Don't be tricked into overspending at this less-than-honest Jiffy Lube location. They seem to be in the business of selling you services your car does not really need. Safe travels! read more

Everything is about up sell for over priced services, and products. This was my first time at any Jiffy Lube, and it will be my last.

Three weeks ago I went to Jiffy Lube in Sandy, Utah, to have an oil change. After waiting 65 minutes, I got an oil change only to discover the next day that there was a large oil spot in our driveway where that car is usually parked. There has never been an oil spot there before. I called and was told by the manager to return for an inspection and that he would also send someone to our house to clean the oil spot. I thought that this was a lovely gesture. I returned to Jiffy Lube the next morning and they fixed the problem enough so now it just leaks a bit. However, after two phone calls to Jiffy Lube and both times getting assurances that someone would be coming to clean the oil spot, no one has shown up. It was just a hollow offer. Now we need to hire someone to remove the spot since I have limited mobility, my husband is very ill, and our son is deployed. Needless to say, I will not be returning to Jiffy Lube. Response to owner: No thank you. Jiffy Lube had three weeks to resolve this situation. Now that your poor service has been made made public you want to help resolve the issue. A wonderful neighbor man saw the large oil spot and offered to clean it for us. We no longer need any services from Jiffy Lube. read more

Got my oil changed at this location, and saw the technicians checking the tire pressure. First drive after getting my oil changed I got a flat tire and had to get all new tires... It is not a coincidence that this happened right after my oil change. I know that they do not deal with tires, but there is no way my tire would have become flat. I had brand new tires, and had to get a new one because of this. I contacted this location and they will not do anything for me, very frustrating customer appreciation. ALSO while I was at the location the staff was very overly friendly and making weird remarks to me, this is why it's never fun going into car shops as a woman. read more

Avoid this place as you would the plague! I expect them to try to upsell services at a place like this, but these guys take it to a whole new level. I came in for a routine oil change and they offered me every service available, as though my car would fall apart if I tried to drive it home. If I took all of their suggestions it would literally cost thousands of dollars and most of the procedures would have been a complete waste of time and money. Went in for a simple oil change. The Dipstick was not put back which caused it to get tangled in the radiator fan. They also completely stripped the drain plug. Absolutely terrible, going to cost me a lot of money. read more

I would never return to this location. A guy (stranger 1) came out to greet me, there were cars in both the bays already, he informed me it would be at least 30 minutes before they could get to my car. I said id go somewhere else, then he put his hand inside the window to open my door and said, "everywhere else will be just as long if not longer". So as my door was already opened by stranger 1 i felt forced to get out. Thirty minutes came and went. 45 minutes and stranger 2 came to get me, he showed me my air filter (with leaves? all of the sudden in it). I asked to examine it and shook out the weird loose debris. He proceeded to tell me the car was due for literally every single extra service. Upselling me on oil. He told me bulbs were out. i asked which ones cause i can replace them myself- He responded that he wasn't sure which bulbs. Then he said both my wipers needed to be replaced, (they are less than 3 months old from costco). He said it had an oil leak as well. Anyway, i said no thank you to stranger 2 pitching me extra charges. Then he whined and griped, "so, what? You gonna just replace all those things by yourself huh?" I said, anyone can replace bulbs and wipers. He said it was going to be ten dollars more if i did it on my own. I shrugged and went back inside. I watched them mill around my car doing nothing, catching me looking at them. Then the weirdest part, stranger 1 opened my door and proceeded to crouch on the passenger side only slightly out of view. He opened my glove box and while PRETENDING to vacuum but rifled through my personal belongings the WHOLE TIME his coworkers were supposedly filling fluids and changing oil! Then some talking occurred and one guy walked over and stood directly in front of the windows so i couldn't see stranger 1 crouching inside the passenger side of my car any longer. By this time it'd been over an hour. Stranger 2 came in and said my car was done. There was stranger 1 leaning over into my drivers side, PRETENDING to vacuum still. He proceeded to make me wait for him, acting like he was getting ready to vacuum my backseat. He looked at me and asked if i wanted him to vacuum. I looked at my still filthy passebger and driverside floors then looked at him laughed and asked if he was joking. I asked why my glove box was OPEN, he said he just hadn't shut it yet. WHAT?! WHY was this boy kneeled down by my glovebox (opened by him) sneaking the whole entire time? This location can not be trusted. Never go here, untrustworthy crooks and little thieves. read more

I took my car to get my windshield fixed, and they cracked my whole entire windshield. They cracked my windshield first then had my dad that doesn't speak any English sign for the papers, that they don't take any responsibility. They took no responsibility and now I have to pay 900 dollars for my windshield. Get people who know how to do there job and not crack my windshield. This place is garbage. I WILL NEVER GO HERE AGAIN. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE. Horrible service and horrible people. They were very polite, and quick with no one ahead of me. Was not great experience because the "lead" was trying his hardest to upsell me. Also, he told me he would give me the air filter and cabin air filter "at his cost" which was $20-25 each. Looked up them up online and should have just replaced them myself for $10 each. If it were possible to give a negative star rating that's what I would give. Just bought a new/used Ford F350 truck and was getting computer warnings that the exhaust fluid was low and needed changed. Decided to go for the full service. I trust Jiffy Lube, actually I worked at a Minute Lube location 30 years ago. There are 2 bays at this location and they were only using 1. No biggie there was only one car ahead of me. Turns out it was a rock chip fix. After waiting for over 45 minutes while they were trying to get the customers insurance to approve the repair, I suggested that perhaps the rock chip could be repaired outside of the bay. During the 45 minutes another 6 cars had lined up. Once my truck was pulled into the bay, the two technicians must have walked around it 15 times while staring at each other, looking under the hood and scratching their heads. After 15 minutes of this I went out and asked if there was a problem. "What type and weight of oil would you like" I was asked. Since this was my first oil change in this truck I said I really didn't know what weight but I knew I wanted a blend. "Do you know what weight is suggested?" they asked. I said no and got out my owners manual which to my surprise didn't specify. "Why don't you enter my information into your computer and see what it tells us" I suggested, knowing that their computer knows pretty much everything that a car/truck needs which helps them up-sell. Halfway through that process I handed the technician the oil cap which clearly stated what oil weight should be used."Wheew" I thought. He then just looked at me, turned and walked away. Almost 10 minutes later he came out and said they didn't have that oil in a blend. I asked if he had a synthetic. 5 minutes later he said no. "I need to go talk to my manager about this" he told me. The manager had been just outside the bay the whole time, we're up to over 30 minutes now. He said "I'm doing a rock chip repair, I can't help". The poor technician looked so defeated when he came back. They had asked the Manager for help several times during this whole episode and was denied each time. By now, I have 8 other customers looking at me like "What the hell is going on?" I just put up my hands and shrugged. So by now my normal patient self was "DONE". I told the technician that I would go get the oil changed somewhere else but could he please fill my exhaust fluid because my dash indicator was telling me that in 10 miles my speed would be restricted to 50mph. He had that look in his eyes again. Another tech said he would get it done for me. He went and got a box which contained the fluid, and then spent a few minutes trying to figure out how to put the screw on spout on. Then he opened the hood of my truck. Now it knew it was time to GO because the exhaust fluid is filled next to the gas tank fill. Jumped in the truck and left. Stopped long enough to tell the Manager that he really messed up by not helping his poor technicians. Asked him his name and he said "Why?" DO NOT GO TO THIS JIFFY LUBE LOCATION IF YOU OWN A TRUCK!!!!! read more

Okay way to many hidden costs like oil filter for 10 bucks shouldn't that come with a full service oil change?

For years... I go to the JL at 9000 and I15 for my safety and Emissions inspection... but thought I would try this one. They failed my vehicle... So I went right to Jerry Seiner to get it repaired. Well... find out that my truck just passed at Jerry Seiner at 10600 and the Freeway after Jiffy Lube failed my inspection and they did nothing but test it... Don't trust Jiffy Lube and their equipment, even though they say it is state maintained and inspected. Shady and completely unethical. Charged me 70 bucks for a cabin air filter that costs 11 bucks at the local auto parts store. The guy helping me was gracious enough to offer me the engine air filter for "free" plus five bucks off. The kicker? I point-blank asked the guy if it'd be cheaper for me to buy the filter at an auto parts store and do it myself. He said it would be at least 10 dollar more at any store. Normally I don't rely on employees for this kind of stuff and will look it up myself, but I was in a massive hurry and decided to trust his word. Huge mistake. Had a similar experience to Howard M. who commented earlier. I was completely taken advantage of at this Jiffy Lube. The staff told me my warranty was void after putting in conventional oil.......what? The very brief explanation of oils and it affecting or even voiding a warranty was so brief that I didn't even know what they were claiming. Completely felt that for something as serious as they claim, they didn't hardly even address it. Fortunately, after talking to our dealership about the situation, they informed me that NO IT DOES NOT VOID A WARRANTY! I guess my question is.......If Jiffy lube claims something would void a warranty......why are they even offering this option to customers? No one would willingly void their warranty. This locations high pressure workers, especially the manager, need to rethink their approach in caring for customers. Also, if you think Jiffy Lube is cheaper....think again. I went straight to my dealership, had them change out the oil, and paid less than what Jiffy Lube charged me (even when I had a Jiffy Lube coupon). Check your oil before you get here ; they love to say your car was one quart low! Why? I don't know. Also check your oil right after you leave. Mine was one quart low but I didn't check it until later. (No oil spots under car and no smoke in exhaust, so I know it wasn't leaking or burning oil). On the plus side, service was very speedy! read more
