Avoid! This location has made me lose faith in Valvoline's integrity. I was initially at Valvoline for a typical Oil Change... While there, it was brought to my attention that my tires were cracking and the tread had worn down, and they needed replacing. I acknowledged this was likely true and asked for a print-out of tire recommendations, though I was not ready to commit immediately to a large purchase upon first visit. I identified that I had after-market wheels (due to the person who owned the car before me) and to please take that into consideration with the print-out. I then took the print-out to CostCo for a second opinion. They confirmed I needed new tires, but that all 3 of the tires recommended by Valvoline were unsafe due to Speed Rating and Load Index of the tires. Strike One. I purchased proper tires at CostCo, but they don't do alignments. Back to Valvoline (foolish, but I was in a rush to get it done). When Valvoline called to say my car alignment was "done", they said they would only be doing the front of my vehicle due to my after-market wheels, and that they would only be charging me half the price since only half the usual work was completed/necessary for my vehicle. Upon arrival, they negated this offer, saying the person who talked to me on the phone was wrong and they always charge full price, even when only doing half the alignment. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They couldn't even tell me who talked to me on the phone - "must be the guy on break" - but assured me he would be re-trained... Strike Two.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] On the phone, they advised that they recommended replacing rear break pads and rotors (critical, "you're at a 3 and state law requires 2 or above!"), doing a break flush (less important), and that the valve cover gasket was leaking and needed to be replaced. I told them to hold off on everything in that list, but to print out a quote for me and I'd be back if I had to. I went to another repair shop (that I trust far more, who has repaired cars for a friend's family for over a decade and has never led them wrong), who said the rear break pads were thick and rotors fine, the valve cover gasket was fine, and "they shouldn't have even done your alignment - your front ball joints are in bad shape and it's a safety hazard to do alignments on these - you'll be failing your next inspection, and to fix these ball joints, you have to get a new alignment anyway". Big Strike Three. I wasted ALL my money doing the initial alignment at Valvoline that now has to be re-done. Needless to say, I will not be returning to this Valvoline, maybe to any other Valvoline. read more

Valvoline ruined my BMW and it costs me thousands in repairs! After seeing oil leaks, I immediately brought it back to them and I was reassured by a manager that there was no issue with their oil change. Welp, I took it to BMW after seeing more oil leaks on my driveway and after a diagnostic of the problem, they found out that the leak is from a 3rd party oil change (Valvoline). BMW mechanic's diagnostic says: "AFTER MARKET ENGINE OIL FILTER KIT O-RING HAS BAD SEALING QUALITIES, ALLOW OIL TO LEAK FROM AROUND THE ENGINE OIL FILTER HOUSING AND DOWN THE BACK OF THE ENGINE." Good morning, I regret to inform you that Valvoline in Woodbridge destroyed my car. I have put in a claim and it was denied with no reason why. I went to the Valvoline in Woodbridge for a routine oil change in February 2024 where they put the wrong oil in. I noticed it when my check engine light came on the next day. I would floor it and only go 40mph. I informed the location, thinking they might have not tightened something, drove the best I could to Woodbridge, to be told I would be charged for a diagnostic test. According to the invoice, all I needed was to change my cabin air filter, not check my engine. I went to Valvoline in Fairfax the following Monday, and was informed by the manager of both locations, Moe, that Woodbridge put the wrong oil in it and that he would change it for me. They changed it and flooded the engine according to my insurance company mechanic, Auto Giants, where I got the car from not even a full year ago, and the Hyundai dealership mechanic. I was still denied by claims. I am a single mother of 2 and this car is my only means of transportation. I have lost a job due to this. I spoke to a lawyer who will reach out soon. I wanted to see if we can come to a conclusion before moving  forward. read more

I am normally not a person to leave bad detailed reviews, but I had an awful experience at this location. To begin with, I requested all the fluids changed on my vehicle, and the tires to be rotated. I was at the location for over 2 hours, while the techs messed around and claimed they didn't know what fluid to put in the vehicle. After this, they rotated my tires, while doing so they observed I was missing a lug nut. I went to the tire shop next door to get a lug nut, and they put it on for me. The next day, I went to get an alignment done, and the shop told me that they had crossthreaded one of the lug nuts and they would have to cut the wheel stud to be able to get the tire off, costing me over 200$. They also observed that my rear differential was leaking fluid, and tightened it for me, as that was also cross threaded. I went to a different location and they confirmed that I had lost a large amount of diff fluid. They added more and charged me for this as well. After this I opened a claim with customer service, to at the very least be reimbursed for the cross threaded lug nut. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The store manager, Jordan was very rude and told me he would talk to the area manager, who never called me back.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]4 days later, I finally had to call customer service again to be told that Jordan denied my claim and claimed it wasn't their fault.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I am left with the expensive bill and not able to speak to any managers. The incompetence of their technicians almost made me leave the location, but they kept telling me it would be done soon. Beware of this location. I have used valvoline forever for all my vehicles but this left a very bad taste in my mouth and I will be going elsewhere. No need to go to a waiting room for a simple oil change. I purchased this on Groupon. Approximately, $25 tack on a few dollars for fees. In and out in under 30 minutes!!! They will send you monthly coupons that will have a similar value as Groupon, once on their mailing list and email. Like every shop, they will up-sell you other services and flushes. I've visit valvoline on April 8th to get a oil change by the end of the week I had no oil in my car due to a oil leak now I have to come out of my pocket for something they did. I took my car back to them to get investigated of course they denied that they broke my oil pan. When clearly they were the last ones dealing with my oil.. I filed a claimed of course I got denied. It's very frustrating when you trust these people with your car they make a simple mistake and try to cover it up instead of just fixing the damn problem. Requested oil change. The service tech forgot to put the clips on that hold the engine splash guard. I was driving on the highway when suddenly the splash guard fell down and was dragging. It was a scary experience. Not worth your time and money to get your oil changed when the service tech creates a problem, requiring time and money to fix. read more

If I could give them zero stars, I would. This is the place I use each time I'm due for an oil change on all of my vehicles. I'm January, I took my Dodge Durango to their facility and was in and out in 15-20 minutes. After taking my vehicle to its manufacturer, I was surprised to find out that I had an oil leak, so I called Valvoline back and spoke with Tomas (manager). He seemed confused and took the e tire day to review footage to see if his team advised me previously of a leak. Just when I thought this was enough to hold them responsible, they denied that there was a leak, cleaned up around the suspected leak, and are now requesting photos to prove there is a leak. There is oil spilled all beneath my truck from the leak that is spraying backwards as I accelerate on the road. At this time, I'm being faced with a bill of $921 and until they receive photos, my truck will leak. Why not just fix the problem? **UPDATE** So if you pay attention to the reply from the location, it definitely leads one to believe they were going to make things right, but unfortunately they have no intentions to smooth things over. I received another call from Tomas (Location manager) who advised me that he neglected to tell me that there were any leaks, but that they will not be able to do anything further. My advice to anyone, to avoid costly repairs on your vehicle, take your cars/suvs elsewhere. I was even told that they are not certified mechanics, so why should we be allowing them to work on vehicles? They love to tell you that these are common problems with SUVs and not accept responsibility for the fact that they are the ones responsible for changing my oil and therefore should let me know if my vehicle is experiencing any type of leak. Never have I ever done business with a company who admits they were negligent, but offers no help. Meanwhile, the repair is nearly $1,000 and that's not including the cost of a rental while the repair is being completed. read more

Very convenient and good experience. I was the first in line. There was a short wait, about 20 minutes. Then I was called in. They have you stay seated in the car and drive in. They'll ask you to perform certain actions such as turning on the signals, headlights, moving the gas, etc. I bought synthetic oil change on Groupon. Price was provided up front so there was no surprise up charge. I just had to pay the tax, which was around $1. Truly I hate to write this but visited this facility a month ago. Did my oil change and then gave me a list of over $800 worth of recommended repairs to my car. Thank goodness I took the list to think it over. Just took my car to another mechanic and out of that list, the only thing my car needed was new wiper blades. I stopped here on a Sunday afternoon and I got an oil change. I had no wait and the technician was very nice and helpful. I learned that I might be in the need of new brakes in the future. I was told that they have a technician who does brake inspections for free during the week. I thought this was a nice service to offer so I can see if I need new brakes and how much it would cost to fix. This place is a little expensive but you don't have to get out of your car. I can play on my cell phone and just chill out. So I pay a little extra for comfort which sometimes is much needed. read more

Unless you're going here for something very simple and know what you need I would absolutely not go here. They're good at the high pressure sales and demand of urgency on the work you'll need done and end up ripping you off. My car broke down on me the other day and I took it to a neighborhood mechanic who fixed it for a very reasonable price, was very respectful when communicating what I needed fixed. He noticed the charges on my car from this valvoline and felt I was being scammed and recommended I went to speak with them. I felt as if the people at valvoline were very quick to be defensive and talking to me like I was an idiot and I felt like I was being gaslit. Anyway lesson learned and I have a trusted mechanic from now on. I know I'm still learning here on best way to go when getting my car worked on and I really feel like I learned my lesson and will not be returning to valvoline or any place like it. read more

I can't even express my frustration now. I came here for an oil change all the way from Arlington because I thought it's a trustworthy place. After they checked my car, they told me that one of my serpentine belt is cracked and it needs to be replaced. So I trusted them and paid $100 for it. The second day after the serpentine belt changed, my car start to make very loud harsh noise, especially when I just started it for the first 10 minutes. I thought that it's just because it's a new belt and it's tight. I waited a few days, the noise continues so I called them. They asked me to come in and adjust it for me. The manager, Sam, took 10 minutes to adjusted it, I was surprised because it took them one hour n a half to install it. I asked if he can make sure that it won't make noise again, all I wanted is to make sure that I don't need to drive all the way back again for the same issue. He was so rude and saying that he can't promise that, because all he can do is to adjust it. He explained all the technical things just to get out of the responsibility. Even he said that the noise is not normal. Nothing I can do, so I leave. Right after I drove away, not even two minutes, it started to make the same loud harsh noise again, so I had to drive back. He didn't believe me when I told me all that, so he tested drive it and came back telling me he didn't hear anything. He said if there's a noise when I drove away, he would have hear it. At this point I was so frustrated because not only he can't fix it also he basically accused me a liar. After all the argue, we drove together and hear one noise because it's not continually making noise. He refused to check it again, and said that I was asking somethings that haven't even happened yet. I drove away so angry and tell them that I will write a very "nice" review of them. Be certain you ask if your vehicle is 1) "special" since my F150 apparently is (the most common truck on the road) and 2) you know how many quarts of oil your vehicle takes. I got an extra $16 tacked on (18% increase) for my truck needing 6 quarts of oil (instead of 5?) and a "special" filter. Wasn't asked or warned in advance. read more

I'm sitting in my car right now for an oil change and Nicole who is working on my car was extremely condescending bc I follow the oil change light on my car instead of the sticker, which I've never had any issues with. The way she spoke to me was just extremely unprofessional, she needs to brush up on her people skills. Not only that, she informed me that my transmission fluid was completely overfilled so I took my car back to the shop I got it done at and they rechecked it and told me it was fine and that Valvoline checked my transmission fluid when my car was off when it's supposed to be on to get an accurate read.
