Waited in line for an hour with only 1 car ahead of me. I pulled in and a car was paying, they left and then I was second in line.... For an hour! I could not leave because of the long line behind me. When I pulled in and asked them to shut my hood so I can leave bc I have been waiting for an hour and don't want to be late to an appointment, they said "okay go ahead". No apologies, no eye contact and angry look on their face. I got there at 10am, left at 11, never got my oil changed. I came here for a service, one that is promised in a timely manor, and that was clearly not possible. Valvoline Instant Oil Change centers have become my go-to for oil changes and minor things for my Explorer. I usually hit the location in Madison on a weekend, however recently discovered this location on Murfreesboro Road in Franklin, which is easy to get to from my nearby office. Service was solid, with the fellas being friendly and helpful from entry to exit. While "instant" to most means under 10 minutes, the reality is it always takes a bit longer, but I am usually in and out within about 25 minutes. Only mark off is the pricing for an oil change. Wild that for a mid-grade oil change, I am pushing $90. Overall, solid spot that gets the job done when needed. read more

I called to find out what additional services I had gotten done to my car when I came in this past month for an oil change, and because my husband usually takes my car for me it's under his name when we go in. I was informed that all of the service information was confidential and that only my husband could call and get the information. The information about the visit I made, under my car, with a car title under my name. Crazy that they can't tell me what I paid for with a credit card with my name on it, but they had no problem taking the money or servicing the car when he didn't show up. We have had two major issues with a simple oil change on both of our cars here! They forgot to drill back in the oil pan into the bottom of our Volvo after they changed our oil. We realized this only after we were driving down the highway and the oil pan was hitting the road over and over and we had to go back to get it screwed back in. The second situation happened when they changed the oil in our BMW SUV and they stripped the oil plug completely leaving us in a scenario where we had to get a whole new body part and were without our car for seven days for them to get a new body part in to a different auto body shop to fix the car!! What a nightmare!!! Save yourself a ton of headaches and do not go here! Also! They never reset the cars after the oil change, so even after the oil was newly changed both of our cars always say that we are in need of an oil change. read more

Went for tire rotation. Went to proper bay. After sitting for an hour, told that no one could do it. The manager of the store, Brad, "called in and would not be in for another hour. " And this was AFTER I confirmed I was in the correct bay and told them what I was there for. Oil change? Sure, use them. Anything else - buyer beware. read more

This is a follow up and further feedback on this business. I'll make this post brief. They never responded to a written and called in complaint when it happened. They never offered to pay for damage to my car after we watched it happen(prob $125 or so) not much at all. They only responded to my negative post by email. Email correspondence fell off after about two weeks. They offered me a free oil change only after the public post and response seemed very empathetic on yelp. It's nonsense. The truth is, they absolutely don't care or you would at least get a return phone call or email from management. Read the other surveys. Same thing. They pushed down on the hood of my new Miki Cooper S hood which is aluminum. We watched, we immediately told them and they act like we are trying to scam. Go anywhere but this place. The manager is terrible. He told me "good luck" when I mentioned that I would call corporate and he was right. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. Came in for a fully synthetic oil change and a guy named Patrick with "manager" on his shirt wasn't paying attention and overflowed the entire engine. They began explaining that they were going to clean everything up "the best that they could." Someone else even asked "what the problem was." Seems like they really have issues with employees paying attention. No one really knew what they were doing. We finally had the actual manager come out who did give us a refund and was the only person to genuinely apologize. We will not be back and probably will go with another company over Valvoline any day. read more

Terrible experience -- we waited 90 minutes in line for a standard oil change only to be upsold for full synthetic oil because our 2021 BMW 330i "only takes European oil and the engine will blow and warranty voided with conventional oil". Manager told us to go somewhere else which we did -- after two hours of waiting and disputing we left without a basic oil change. Unacceptable service and experience. Highly recommend avoiding this location and their outrageous up selling sales tactics to scare uneducated customers into buying more expensive products they don't need. read more

Awful experience. I'm leaving town tomorrow and my regular oil change place wasn't able to change my oil today, and he recommended this Valvoline store. I checked the hours which said they close at 6p. I went straight away and arrived at 4:40p. The manager came out to tell me that they close at 5p, and not 6p, even though the website says 6p. Then he told me they like to close 20 minutes early so that they can clean up early. I told him that his hours are reported to be 6p, but even I'd he says they're open til 5p now, that should mean that they're open until 5p. I told him I was headed out of town in the morning and I really had to have an oil change before leaving and asked if he could help me. He said, "no, we're short staffed." I pointed out that he had zero cars in any of the bays, and told him that "short-staffed" didn't seem like a very good excuse since they were currently helping no one else. He just said "there's nothing I can do." The manager. He was the manager. In a business that operates on customer serVice. Refusing to help a customer in need, who arrived well within the hours of operation. Is this really the sort of store you want to run?? read more

This place damaged my vehicle twice, both times they screwed up installing my skid plate and it dragged under my car destroying it. The first time the were decent enough to replace it, and the second time the idiot manager denied the damage claim denying responsibility. It is no coincidence that this place damaged my vehicle on the same issue twice. The only reason I came back again was in hopes they would have solved their incompetence issue. I've been a Valvoline customer for a long time, but this location is not that great. I recently had an experience where the tech was in a bad mood, and he only filled up 2 tires (to the wrong pressure), and he didn't fill up the wiper fluid. When I brought it up to the manager, there was no apologies. He offered to fill up the wiper fluid if I drove back up to the shop, but I had other things to take care of that evening. For a $60 oil change (after the coupon), I would expect better. I'll be trying some other companies, or at least a different location. read more

I went in today, and it wasn't busy at all. I don't know if it was because of the Eclipse, but nevertheless, there was no wait. The two guys who helped, with my oil change, were very friendly and efficient. I was in and out of there in about 15 min. The only reason I docked it the 2 stars, was because I needed to get my tires rotated and they couldn't do it. I guess they weren't staffed enough, to do that service. Then I magically had an oil leak because of them also as there was nothing wrong with my car before . 15 minute oil change does not include the hour and a half you'll spend waiting in line. The 2nd line got 3 cars done in the time it took for one car in my line to get done. I was the 2nd car in line for 40 minutes. I had a coupon for a 19.99 conventional oil change and they proceeded to put semi synthetic oil in my older sedan and it ended up being 74$. Not what I was expecting considering I had the coupon and normally my oil changes cost 35$ at tire discounters. I will never be coming back to valvoline. I was undecided between 3 and 4 stars. I was going to give them 3 because the service getting into the bay was slow. Upon entering the bay the manager explained to me that they had 2 stripped drain plugs on the cars before me. I gave them a pass because this was out of their control. Once in the bay the service was fast and efficient. One thing I did appreciate was the lack of the hard sell I get at some of the stores I visit. I am a 40+ year old car guy. I will never go back. Can't complain about the work because I did got fresh oil and a filter. The reason I won't go back follows. I asked about the price for a basic semi synthetic oil change as soon as I drove in. I asked again for the price and the tech started keying my info in. While I was waiting on a price my oil was drained. I saw $79 on the screen and I asked if that was for my oil change. It was. I said no way, but my oil had already been drained. That is no way to do business. Valvoline dropped the price to $57, which I believe is still too high, and we agreed to part ways forever. read more

Took my college aged son's Toyota Matrix there just before he headed overseas for Grad school for the year so car was barely driven. It sat for the year being driven, occasionally, just for maintenance sake. At the end of the year I took it for an extended drive and it developed engine noises indicative of loss of lubrication. Checked oil level, it was clean and full. I suspect, cheap aftermarket oil filter was the culprit. Changed filter myself and problem went away. Fine as far as an oil change, but staff was kinda bossy. They were a little slammed around lunch and so I asked them if I could leave my keys. "I need you to stay with your vehicle" was the reply. I left and did a bit of errand shopping and came back 10 minutes or so later, pulled in and say "OK guys I'll go sit in the office just let me know when it's done" "Stay in your vehicle sir" they tell me like I have been pulled over and they are the cops. I stay for a bit, they scan my car in, I shut it off and they finally allow me to go sit in their lobby, but it was like I was asking to borrow 50 bucks or something. They finished the oil change quickly and were courteous otherwise, but some control issues of staff are over-clouding what could have been a less weird and more pleasant experience.
