What at first what I thought was a great experience quickly changed when after I got my oil and AIR FILTER changed my car broke down a month later and to my surprise my mechanic said it was because my AIR FILTER box clamps were never put back on my box. So my perfectly fine air filter box was left wide open by the mechanic at express oil. I can buy clamps from Home Depot to keep it closed (which doesn't sound very safe) or I can get a new air filter box ($400!!!) I've had this car for 10 years and have had my air filter changed and have had plenty work done on the engine and other things before the day this all happened. So I know it had to have happened from this one experience. So please let your mechanics know if they change an air filter they need to close the box back with the correct pieces that come in with the box in the first place. And just to note my mechanic said nothing else at all was wrong with my car. Just the air filter being left wide open was the only issue. read more

Went to have a tire changed at 11:30 am. They were pretty busy and suggested I make an appointment. I had a 2:00pm appointment which I sat in the lobby for an hour and a half before anyone even acknowledged me. When they took the car back, they couldn't fix it anyway. Wanted me to buy all new tires for $800.00. Wasted four hours and customer service was non-existent. read more

Have been going here for the past ten years for oil changes and car repairs. Oil service is consistent with other locations in price and service. Ownership has changed several times. Its unfortunate that the mechanic side of the business is focused on dollars rather than customer service. Where once years ago the mechanic installed my side mirror free of charge while he repaired another car issue. They earned my confidence then and there and I had been referring them ever since. Fast forward to the past 12 months. Had a major repair completed ($2,000) and didnt question the work. Within minutes of arriving home I remembered I had a 10% off any mechanical repair coupon and quickly called to adjust my bill. I was told "too late". Not happy, since it was within an hour of paying and amounted to $200, I conceded and continued to use them for my oil changes. This past month I brought a vehicle in for a repair and the mechanic touted that he came from the dealership which sold my vehicle as a way to reassure me if his expertise. I was quoted $2,600. Difficult to swallow I checked with friends and found another repair shop. Repair completed for $2,300. Sadly, the mechanic thought that coming from a dealer he would gouge me with dealer charges. Never again. Moving my service requests elsewhere to include oil changes. read more

This is my first ever review. This place is full of inexperienced workers that just want to up-charge you and make you spend more than you need to. I had a nail in my tire I needed removed and patched, a woman working there told me that based on the location of the nail and the fact that I used fix-a-flat spray, they couldn't take the nail out and requested I replace the whole tire at there store. I declined and went to a different shop out in nolensville and they did exactly what I needed in 5 minutes. Only $20 no complications. Go somewhere that isn't trying to make a buck off your lack of knowledge of cars. read more

Totally got ripped off. According to the receipt they charged me $26.99 for 5 quarts of oil. Then they charged me an extra $48.00 because I made the mistake of asking for high mileage oil. Then they charged me $15.00 for max life oil upgrade. You do the math. read more

AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!!! I had my car towed here after it overheated and broke down on the interstate. They wouldn't even look at it to see what was wrong, they just said the maker of the car has restrictions and only a dealer can work on the car. I confirmed with another location that this was false. Really great experience. Service is very fast. They give you information and recommendations but don't come off as pushy. They cleaned the windshield, topped off all of the fluids, asked about tire pressure, and were friendly and courteous throughout the entire experience. I have been a longtime customer of 10+ years. While their friendliness has always been there, I have noticed a distinct raising of prices even above those of peers in the area. One recent example is quote for replacement of a tire pressure censer above $170. I just had another censer replaced at another Express Oil store for $141. I called around other tire stores in Nashville and found the price to replace close to $80. Be careful what you purchase here for the friendliness may not be worth it. read more

Before I could panic about which lane to go in I was greeted by a young man named Bryce. He was very nice and took care of everything I needed. He washed my windows, replaced the air filter, checked fluid levels, etc. He quickly walked me through getting the "check oil" light off. He was great! Brought my car in for oil change. They told me I had a leak in my power steering. They replaced it. I spent 750. Was there the entire day. Brought it back because I still had a leak. Now it's something else that they can't fix and expensive. I don't believe anything was wrong with the power steering. I feel they give you continual excuses and take advantage of woman that don't know about cars. Wont go back and certainly wouldn't recommend to anyone. read more

I'm updating my review because they changed my windshield wipers and oil before a road trip. Wiper blades were not put on properly or checked before I left. Half way into my road trip my driver side wiper flew off and i had to drive 22 miles to the nearest advanced in the pouring rain to get new ones. I called the manager to let him know and also mentioned that after they tried to rotate my tires I lost 2 center caps and he argued with me that I never had my tires rotated there. Which was true because the employee could not find the tool to unlock my lug nuts. However, the caps were removed and not put back on firmly. They refunded me for my replacement wipers. At the time of my visit they told me i needed new tires in the near future. I'm afraid I would've lost a tire driving down the road had they changed them. read more

My husband and I have taken our car in at least 3 or 4 times and the staff here have always been so helpful and have never overcharged us - in fact The last time they wouldn't even charge us because they didn't find anything wrong with our car. I like this place. I arrived at 11:35 and was out by 11:52. Everyone was kind and respectful. Really like that you don't have to get out of the car. Went for the first time today. Declined because I felt the price was about 10$ too high. However, before I could pull away, the assistant manager convinced me with his professionalism, and desire for my business. The service was quick, clean, and an actual enjoyable experience. I stopped in b/c a sign out front offered $5 off oil changes that day. A bay was free so I was able to drive right in. I never had to get out of my car. In addition to the oil changes I had wiper blades replaced. My only disappointment was that they did not have my rear wiper blade in stock. read more

I went in for an oil change a few days ago. They said I needed a new power steering pump. I declined, but they seemed courteous and professional. An hour later after driving, it started acting funny, hesitating and 'bucking' while accelerating. On Monday I took it to a local, recommended garage and the mechanic said that someone had removed the Manifold Absolute Pressure MAP Sensor, which would cause the above symptoms. Coincidence you think? I won't go back there. read more

I brought my car here because it was leaking oil. After a lengthy diagnosis the mechanic gave me an estimate of about $750 saying I probably wouldn't have to pay that much. I ended up paying $826. After driving the car for a week it was still leaking the same amount of oil. I took the car back to Express and they said that they couldn't fix it, but they had a solution for me. I should just add a quart or two of oil in it every week. They also refused to give me back any of my money. I'm not sure if they are dishonest or incompetent, but they are definitely one or the other. read more
