However, it was not until we were in real distress that the true value of this establishment shone through! Ben Shabib has been working with us from the beginning, and he is truly a Godsend. In addition to knowing my wife and I BY NAME and greeting us with professionalism and respect EVERY TIME, he PERSONALLY took an interest in the status of our repair job. Regardless of what vehicle you drive, A1 is truly one of the best service centers I have ever known. Rick , the owner his wife and all of the employees have been extremely polite to us, upfront, and very honest. They tell you what you need and you can make your own decision as to what you want done. They also provide a wonderful sitting area that is like sitting in your own home watching TV with comfortable furniture, coffee, and whatever else you care to drink I suggest that you try them for yourself and make your own decision. I have been in the auto body business growing up, and I do know good quality workmanship, and this is what they provide.

And he charges six times more than the other mechanics in town. I needed a Throttle Position Sensor replaced. I knew this because Auto Zone had run a scan (free). I left the car with him and a few hours later he called and said I needed a Throttle Body. But I had told him that two Throttle Bodies had been tried and did not fix the problem. He talked me into doing it anyway, because afterall he had better sources. He said if this did not fix the problem, I would have to pay the $425 labor charge. Overnight I realized he did not say anything about the sensor. I called him. He said that it did not show up on the scan. I asked if couldn't install it anyway making less labor than having to take the Trottle Body out later to do it. First he said no, and then said he would if it looked like it was needed. I had second thoughts about all of this. I went back to this shop the next day and said I wanted to pick up my car. He was furious. Said I would have to pay for the Throttle Body, even though he had not receive it yet. I reminded him that he had said he could return it. His response was he could only return it if it was defected. That is not what he had said. He had said he could return if it did not fix the problem. He kept arguing about this. So I said I would this police, punched in 91 and said 'okay, you do not have to pay for the part.' He printed out what labor had been done. And there on his printout was 'Throttle Position Sensor defective.' Do you see? He was going to install the Throttle Body and say he did not work but I had to pay $425 for the labor. By the way, the first two times this had been done the labor charge was $75. So I ended up paying $88 for the same scan Auto Zone had done for free. And yes, there is proof that a simple scan was run, not a Diagnostic Test. I went immediately to Auto Zone, they ran another scan and Rick's scan was recorded. Rick also charged me $20 for a relay that retails for $5-$10. And he charged $60 labor to replace it. The labor time to do this is at maximum 2 minutes. That includes: unlock car door, flip hood release, lift hood, open top of box that is sitting at hood level, pull out relay and plug in new relay. So do not go there, do not ever trust this guy. (By the way, I am a 78 year old, female with gray hair.) Nice guy, right?

I was rushed for time and needing an oil change before heading out on a 6 hour road trip to pick up a horse the next day. My dad offered to take my truck somewhere for me while I was at work, and Trinity was able to fit it in. I knew the truck needed a new fuel filter in the near future which they said they could go ahead and replace, but when they tried it wouldn't fit. My dad was told "It's the right one but a different style" or something of that nature so they put the old one back in. No, what actually happened is somewhere during this visit, someone broke the cap on my fuel filter and didn't bother to say anything. Fast forward to the next day, I am in Pennsylvania hauling 7,000 pounds behind me and begin to smell diesel. My dad said they spilled a bunch messing with the filter so I didn't think much of it until the truck starts smoking and I realize I'm getting about 5 miles to the gallon. Diesel was spewing all over my engine from the broken fuel filter cap. I am very lucky the truck did not blow up on the highway. Do you have any idea how expensive it is to have a truck, steel trailer, and horse transported 3 hours home on a minutes notice? I know this is a Christian establishment so maybe they at least said a prayer for me and for that I am very thankful, but I'm pretty sure the Lord also encourages honesty and I experienced none of that. This is the same place that a while back tried charging me $500 for a new timing belt because "mine was torn". Sorry guys, that car has a timing chain, which is fully intact, and to my knowledge chains don't "tear".
