Every time I go to get an oil change or fill up my tires, I get at least 1 flat tire the next day because they "forgot to screw the caps back on" getting distracted on the job puts people at risk!!! Focus on your job instead of trying to be funny!! It's not funny when I'm stranded and gotta figure out a way home and pay for a new tire or a repairs bc I don't have tire caps on from your team forgetting!! Had an amazing experience at the Hawthorn valvoline oil change place today. Car wouldn't start this morning so I called triple A. I have had numerous battery issues with this car so I assumed. He got it started but told me the check engine light was on and that I should have it taken care of right away. Since I had just had the oil changed I took it to Valvoline. The place was very busy, 3 bays 4 cars deep. When it was my turn, I told them the problem and the service guy plugged in a scanner and told me it was probably a glitch. Him and the assistant manager looked under the hood to check the oil. When the person looking under the hood says "holy shit" I get a little nervous. It seems some animals have been feasting on the wiring insulation. Obviously fixing this was not part of their service menu but John, the assistant manager, worked for an hour and a half to get the car restarted. 90 degree heat, a full shop and lantern flies all over everything and everybody. When he finished he told me no charge!!!! I got the car home and will have the dealer tow it on Monday. The reason I am posting this is because mechanics among all the trades seem to get the worst rap. All of the guys at this place could not have been kinder. I come here often based mostly on the location. The only thing I don't care much for is driving over the hole in the middle of the floor. I'm always scared that I'll drive right into it. The work is done quickly, even more so if there are two other empty bays at the time. Workers have been personable and helpful although they will push products that you can use but not necessarily need quite yet. Don't be afraid to say no since they'll suggest a service just once and then they will move on. They did once, warn me that my battery energy was low. They lure you in with a $25 oil change voucher and then get you drive in and misinform you!! Very disappointing you can't trust people.
