She explained clearly why each service was important, which I really appreciated. As a woman, car service places don't always make you feel respected or fully informed, and sometimes it can feel like people are just trying to take your money. That was not the case here. Hector and Crystal were honest, patient, and genuinely caring. Hector even helped me reset all of my sensors, and they were able to locate a nail in my tire after I mentioned my tire sensor kept going off but I couldn't find the problem. I love how thorough staff is in checking everything on my vehicle and it gives me peace of mind to know my traffic signals and stop lights are working. They check filters and make suggestions on things that need to be replaced but they don't pressure you into anything. I also like the coupons or deals they send frequently via text or email. Quick and easy every time. They genuinely care about letting you know what services are recommended but never put on any pressure. On my recent visit it was recommended I think about replacing my battery. In the past 6 years I never have and I honestly wouldn't have thought about it if he hadn't mentioned it. He told me the lifespan on typical batteries, showed me the readings on mine and where they should be and taught me about AGM batteries and why my car required one. He gave me a quote on one and even looked into finding a discount code for it but I decided to check with AAA and mechanic instead. I really appreciated his help and extra time to show me everything. With newer cars no longer requiring oil/filter change every 3k miles, I lost track how prices have significantly gone up, especially if one needs to use synthetic oils. We ended up going back to a brand that we regularly used previously and found it to be very satisfactory. After my wife stopped by our previous car care facility with an unsatisfactory result, we needed to find a new place to get a needed oil change. Valvoline is a brand we used in the past, so found this location on Anaheim in Long Beach. Their website has scannable coupons so took a screenshot of the $15 off a synthetic/blend oil change and also noticed that Rakuten was offering 7% cash back if you used a linked credit card for payment. We've found in the past, each location might have a different process. At this Anaheim one, the open garage has the exit leading directly out into Anaheim, with the entrance and parking spots opposite. There are two bays, each with enough pavement behind to fit two additional waiting cars. As soon as we entered the small parking lot, the sensor activated with a bell sound to let the responsible attendant know that he needed to direct traffic (this was much appreciated...lesser manned quick oil change places don't make it clear what you are supposed to do when you drive in). We drove right behind a car that was being serviced, and the same attendant took some basic information. By scanning the VIN, he was able to look up our car using CarFax to see the maintenance history...it wasn't complete but I was surprised how much info it brought up. He stated that this location was one where the customer stayed in the car the whole time (there is no waiting room) and that payments/coupons would be taken care of once inside. Once the car ahead of us finished, we were told to slowly drive in. My wife got into a conversation with our rep, learning that at one time there were 4 female mechanics working at this location, but they were down to 2 (both working when we came). Once she confirmed our service (synthetic blend oil change, up to 5 quarts, with filter change), she and the mechanic down below, began the service. I enjoyed the coded language they use to make sure everything was being done correctly and completely. As service was being done, the monitor reflected the real-time pricing of what was being done...This HAS to be a result of differentiating themselves from other car shops where they spring the final price on you at the end...I love the transparency here. The quoted price was $81.99 minus the 20% coupon (this coupon came about because of my Yelp Checkin and was slightly better than the $15 off): labor (not taxed) was 22.39 and parts (taxed) was 45.59. The time from driving into the bay to driving out was 11 minutes...so much better than taking it to a dealer where you have to wait hours. And within 10 minutes of paying, got an email from Rakuten stating that we had qualified for the 7% cash back offer. The IT systems interfacing to make that happen, is really impressive. read more

I went on Friday 11/7 at around 12:30pm and it wasn't busy. They did the oil change for the people in front of me very quick so I was able to get in the bay with no problem. The service went by fast and the workers there were super nice. They really liked the car I drove, so me and a few were able to speak while the oil change was being done. Had my daughter took her 2012 Toyota Highlander in for a basic oil change. The service tech needed to know what type of oil she needed? She called me (her dad who resides OOS), to ask what type of oil? I told her the recommended oil for that vehicle, OW-20 fully synthetic. This is a dang establishment that specializes in oil changes, why are you asking? I told her to ask the price before the work began. She was quoted $140 for a basic oil change. I told her that was too much. They dropped the price to $100, then to $85. Why is this place negotiating prices on an oil change? I would never recommend anyone to use this place. The payment didn't bother me as I was not forced or intimidated to purchase anything. I have been here two times and enjoyed my oil change experience! The first time I went, I waited 20-30 minutes to be assisted; this time, I waited 5-10 minutes. I love how convenient it is to get an oil change and how you just wait in your car while it gets changed. You start off by telling them the services you want to get done and they do a check on brake lights, turn signals, and hazards. They also give recommendations on what your vehicle needs at its mileage. Valvoline isn't too pushy, but when I went the other day, the guy seemed super pissed off and was giving attitude regarding the check-in offer on Yelp. I don't know why they have a check-in offer for 15% if they need a barcode only. Overall, I will keep coming back. The casuals advised I had a severe engine and transmission oil leak both of which are false. my oil pan has a very slight leak (a couple drops) and the oil level on dipstick remains full days after hard driving. Any non car oriented person would have lost their mind and spent hundreds if not thousands replacing a non issue. This location is by far the best Valvoline instant oil change in the Long Beach or LA area. I had a horrible experience yesterday at the Hawthorne location where the customer service was lacking in all areas. Today I spoke with Ricardo and yesterday I spoke with Abby who went above and beyond to hear my concerns regarding my battery. My battery is currently under warranty and having the Hawthorne location deny me a replacement was very upsetting. Today I was able to speak with my local Valvoline here at this location and was able to have faith in this company once again.
