I put my truck into this store on Friday, no issues. Oil change perfect as usual friendly and collective. After checking Oil Pressure and payment Started my vehicle and an annoying grinding sound came from the engine. I thought it was wet from associate wiping the belt off. After returning to store and getting it looked at I was told by the manager that water from them cleaning belt got into my alternator and froze due to the cold temps which is funny cause my trucks engine temp was well hot enough for nothing to freeze. I then was told to drive it around and it would thaw and steam off (ya ok) the noise continued. Went to my auto mechanic for another opinion as I thought it was my water pump grinding. He found that a good bit of oil from the oil change got onto my belt and caused the Idler pulley to basically pull under tension away from my engine. [[HIGHLIGHT]]After Speaking to the Store Manager they said that it would be handled by the company.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Fast Forward to today as I got a call from my mechanic stating I had to pay him 350.86 for my vehicle to be released As he was told I had to run invoice to this store then it would be paid back to me by Valvoline. Wrong Answer. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Multiple Conversations with Customer Support and a completely different story by store manager this still is not rectified and my truck is still in the garage not being released to me.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]This isn't customer service at all. Very quick service which is nice but you do pay more for the speed rather than dropping your car off for an oil change. If you are looking for a quick service and don't mind paying more, Valvoline is for you. If you want the cheaper route, schedule a traditional oil change elsewhere. Yes they are more expensive than your average chain automotive place... but the fact that they will change your oil in under 15 mins without you even leaving the car absolutely makes it worth it! I don't think I've ever waited less than 40 mins at other places. Time is money! I was in and out of there in exactly 11 minuets. In that time, they changed my oil and replaced an air filter. Crazy!! All the guys working were incredibly kind to me and worked efficiently the whole 11 minutes I was there! I will certainly be back! read more

Update: Manager called after reviewing the footage. Apologized and made things right. I would give them another chance if I'm in the area. Horrible service. Very slow. I got charged an extra quart of oil because my car needed it which is fine by me. Today, I decided to check my oil and is below the full line. It makes me wonder if they even put in full sinthetic oil which is what I paid for. I watched the guy that was workIngnon my car hold the oil rod in a vertical position for a little bit before showing it to me which I found odd but didn't think annuity of it. Today I realized that the reason why he did that was so the oil would go down to the proper mark. When I checked my oil today, I found out that the oil was below the line and my car is not leaking or burning oil. I had to go to auto zone and buy a quart of oil and it took half a quart to get to the mark. read more

Had to wait about 10 min before being brought in. One of the cars in one of the other bays finished before the car I was waiting for did, so it was cool that one of the workers noticed I was next in line and had me pull over to the next bay. After I was brought in, I was in/out in less than 20 minutes. I enjoy this convenience. Employees were super nice. I passed on the tire inflation, but they did top off my windshield wiper fluid so that was unexpected. The oil change isn't cheap (about $43 for the cheapest oil but does include the filter). Be careful of other places' "oil change coupons" promoting cheap oil changes because many don't say the oil filter is included. If you have an Enjoy Book, don't forget there is a $10 off coupon in the back. I went to another Valvoline near Century 3 Mall, and the price was slightly different. Not sure why since I thought they would all charge the same in the same (Allegheny) County. Would I go back? If I'm in a pinch and don't want to schedule an appointment for an oil change or leave my car for the day,...sure, I'd go back. read more

Spent $80 for an oil change. (half synthetic, half conventional) Hidden taxes and fees. Within minutes they tell you all these things that are wrong with your car to try and get you to fix it then and there. Just say no. Friendly staff but they try to take advantage of you. Really needed an oil change, but didn't have time to sit around and wait. This place was really quick and efficient. Due to a previous bad review I almost went somewhere else. I asked upfront what the cost would be. The tech explained my options. I stated I didn't want any hidden fees. He was extremely patient in every way. For sixty one dollars and some change I got an oil change and back windshield wiper installed. I got to sit in my car and watch the techs, do all the work, plus air in my tires and washer fluid added for free. In and out in under twenty minutes! Painless! read more

Two years ago my wife went in to get an oil change and the need for a new battery. Prior to going we saw that there was a lot of corrosion around the cables. It was a two year battery and over two years old, so it was time anyway. Upon arrival they did a multi-point vehicle inspection while conducting the oil change. They informed her that she may want to have them install new windshield wiper blades since they were worn and cracked. This shocked her because one week prior I switched out the wiper blades on the car. They looked again and said "oh yeah they don't look that bad". Strike one. They also told my wife that her tail light was out and they could replace that too. I know how to change a tail light, so my wife told them no. When we got home I tested her tail light and it worked. Strike two. At this point, I arrived because my car was up for an oil change too and wanted to see if I could get one in. Thank god they couldn't. When I arrived they were removing her old battery. The only problem is that they broke the battery cables when they were cleaning the corrosion off the connections. Strike three. They thought they had the replacement battery and cords in stock, but they didn't. Strike four. They told us not to worry because they had one coming in on a delivery or from another store. I can't recall exactly because this was two years ago. When the truck arrived about an hour later they had a battery for the car, but no cables. Strike five. They rigged the battery in the car and told us to come back and they will fix the cable when the part comes in. The only problem with that is we were going to be out of town and it had to wait until we got back. I really didn't want my wife to bring the car back after all the other issues but we had no choice because they broke it and had to fix it. When we returned they fix the cable and I am pretty sure they tried to bill my wife. She refused and she only had to pay for labor. She really didn't want to do that but just wanted to be done with this company. Strike six. The reason why this review is coming so late is because of the events of today. My wife's car wouldn't start. Turns out it needed a new battery. Again she got a two year battery installed and it has been two years. Not Valvoline's fault. What was fun to hear is that the battery they installed in her car was not the proper battery for her vehicle. The AAA battery truck operator told her that battery itself did not contain enough cells to properly power the vehicle and was surprised it lasted this long. The battery was leaking and it ruined one of the connection panels. So after two years Strike Seven. After almost striking out the side, I would never go to this establish. I would never recommend anyone giving them there money, unless you want them to damage your car and upsell stuff you do not need because you are a woman. That is the impression that they left on me and my wife. Avoid these people at all costs. I would give them zero stars if I could. read more

I visited your location at 3851 Washington Rd, McMurray, PA 15317 on my lunch break. Once it was my turn many of the guys were complaining that they wore their nice shirt that day and didn't want to get on the ground. I'm not sure why my car was the only car that day that required them to get on the ground, but that's just the beginning. They told me it would be $90+ because my car took synthetic oil, which I knew. The price was steeper than most places but I was willing to pay it for the convenience of completing it on my lunch. After the mechanic was drilling on WHO KNOWS WHAT under my car for 10 minutes or so, they told me that whoever last changed my oil stripped the bolts on the skid plate and I have to take it back there and they refuse to touch it. Well, that place is two hours away since I have recently moved. I got an appointment the very next day at a REAL garage and explained that I was told my skid plate bolts had been stripped and he said no problem he can fix it. Upon picking up my car, I asked if he had any problems with it and he said they were fine and sometimes guys at places like this don't want to work on certain cars.
