But he will be in store on Friday and Saturday. I can leave my truck and they will call me when it's done. No telling how long it will take to complete inspection. Anyway I asked for the oil change and tires rotated. Paid for the premium synthetic oil price. One of the mechanic comes back with my cabin filters on hand, asking me if I want to change the filters. My truck is doesn't even have 11K miles. Filters aren't even dirty. Minor annoyance, but I told them no. Problem is one of the other mechanics comes to me, and tells me that my wiper blades are UNSAT and it will cause my truck to fail inspection. My wiper blades always performed well and I never noticed any shortcomings. I asked how much are the wiper blades. It's 40 bucks a piece. They tried to up-sale 80 dollars worth of stuff by lying to me. After oil change, as I am driving away; I see the cabin filter cover laying on top of my passenger side dash! WTH! Never asked them to take it off, they never even put back that cover. I found out my wiper blades are fine from the inspector (manager) when I tried to drop off my truck on Saturday morning. After.... I told him to look at my wiper blades before he does anything else. I got a call 2 hours after I dropped off my truck, telling me they can't do the inspection because one of the meters they need to complete emission test are broken. And the manager had the audacity to tell me, " my boss wants me to charge you for doing fuel pressure reading test, but we are not gonna charge you." with a patronizing tone as if he is doing me a favor!! Incompetent and lying staff. Absolutely do not recommend. I will never seek their services, and will tell everyone I know in this area not to get their services.

I am always able to pull right in and am taken care of quickly. They have a nice little waiting area for their customers which makes it comfortable while you are waiting. I'm typically in and out of this place in 30 minutes. I highly recommend it!

They recommended that I'm overdue on maintenance and that I pay them to change my brake fluid, coolant, differential and transmission fluid and for an extra $800 to which I declined. We did an alignment but when I left it was definitely not aligned, video attached. They did fix it when I returned 10 minutes later. Combined wait ~2.5 hours. This place isn't bad, but it wasn't a 5 star experience.

Even if I weren't a girl going to a mechanic's, this would be a five-star experience…read more But, especially given the stereotypical experience -- you know, where a mechanic might try to sell the naive girl "headlight fluid" -- this was a refreshing experience. Jon, who is I believe is an assistant manager, was very friendly and candid. And when I had questions about a particular repair they recommended for our vehicle, he used a handy diagram, right there on the counter, to explain what particular terms meant. There wasn't a trace of condescension, nor did he use any of the common tactics, to try to pressure me to into certain repairs. He was just factual and friendly. Interestingly, another customer piped in at one point, to tell me what straight shooters they are, here. (He'd heard me on the phone, explaining the worse-than-expected diagnosis to my honey.) I think that says a lot, that a random dude wanted to vouch did the place. This location is very handy, if you're in the South Hills. It's in the same plaza as the Giant Eagle and Walmart, on Library Road, across from Brightwood.

We then decided to buy tires on line which was 1500 dollars cheaper when we bought tires on line they offered installation for an additional charge. The salesperson then said oh I could have showed you cheaper tires. So we opted to have tires shipped to Firestone to have them installed. We had to go through so much because they couldn't find proof we paid ahead of time. I had to send proof that we already paid. Finally they found it so my husband ask to get a alignment they quoted one price and when we went to get car it was over a hundred dollars more they charge us this without even calling to let us know this. I hate to talk smack on a locally-owned family business, but I am still a little incensed from my last visit there, where I had a nail in my tire, and they charged me thirty bucks to fix it (for reference, I had a small tractor tire repaired here a year or so ago, and they charged $4.00 (Thanks Perry). Most places charge $12-15 for a plug. There was a new guy there last time who I had never seen before, so I guess since he is new, he decided to charge me double to impress the bosses (I didn't say anything that day, because I am generally a mild-mannered guy, but I've been bothered ever since, especially because my check tire light keeps going off, and I had to put air in my tires three times since the repair. Also, the new guy told me after the service, that my tires were getting "feathered" or some term like that, which I'd never heard before. I asked what it meant, and he said it was probably from not rotating the tires enough (Admittedly, I have had them rotated a few times, but not too frequently). Well, I bought those tires here, and they offer free tire rotations on tires purchased here, so why didn't he offer to rotate them for me? Anyways, I think I am done with Calabro, I am tired of the poor service and high costs. Sorry Jeanine, Perry, Butch, and all the rest of the staff ... No more Cheers for you! P.S. I just remembered, my wife's car had a slow leak also, from the last time it was repaired at Calabro. She took it some place near where she works, and it was plugged for ten bucks!
