On 11/23/25, I went to Mavis for two front tires and asked if they had time to do my inspection. Shortly after, they pulled me into the garage and claimed all four brakes, rotors, and several other parts--including my battery--needed replacing. When I asked for an itemized estimate, they refused, saying they couldn't show me anything until the work was done but they would try to give me a good deal. I requested a temporary inspection sticker so I could take my car to my regular mechanic, and they told me they couldn't because they had already removed my current sticker. I later learned it's illegal to remove a valid sticker before inspection date is expired. They insisted it had expired in June but could not show it to me until they "found" it after I pushed. Even then, they refused to give it to me and hesitated to let me photograph it. They also told me I "needed" new tie rods but would charge me for a battery instead "to save money," even though a battery isn't required to pass NYS inspection and my tire rods were not serviced, nor documented on any kind of paper. In the end, I was charged nearly $2,000 for repairs I didn't want, after they created a situation where I couldn't decline the work. I felt pressured to say yes so I was able to get my car back after they refused to issue me a temporary sticker. I was given a few different reasons why and then lastly told they "misunderstood" what I was asking for when I asked for a 10 day temporary. Their actions were both unethical and illegal. I will be contacting Mavis to resolve this, but I will also be reporting the shop to the DMV.

Diego was nice enough to help us get checked in and he told us that it would take around 45 minutes. We left the store and returned around 40 minutes later to see how everything was going. We returned to the parking lot to find my car parked differently than how I left it so we walked inside excited to see my car completed. WRONG!!! After It took us another 5 minutes to find someone to help us they told me that they were unable to put the tires on my car, they said they couldn't chance taking the lug nuts off my car and damaging the vehicle. Mind you I hadn't received a text or a call explaining the issue prior to me returning to the store. To top it all off the employee put the tires in my truck and basically told me that it was my problem now because I paid online. The employees were so pre-occupied that they couldn't even give suggestions or sincere apologies. I will absolutely never EVER go back to get any work done. My first visit ever here was only because I was in a pinch and far away from home. I didn't have a choice, and I was bright and early the first customer to get tires. Worked out great! Today, I returned for a wheel alignment since it had a little discount included. I asked for them to check the tires, since one wheel kept losing air. I was charged for TPMS. They told me nothing was wrong. The moment I left the lot, my car finally tells me theres an issue with one of the tpms, BUT Midas tells me everything is working perfectly fine. TERRIBLE! Before this, I waited 4+ hours for a wheel alignment!! They didnt start working on my car until I stood up and peeked to see if my car is being serviced. I stayed on the lift for 3 hours! FOR A WHEEL ALIGNMENT! And was charged for TPMS service that Im sure they didn't even check! Not to mention, I don't think they know how to use the alignment machine for my vehicle. Alot of backing up and readjusting the car on the lift for the sensors! Sitting there for 4 hours, I realized I've made a mistake. Overhearing customers complain about the same thing, over priced, not ACTUALLY trouble shooting, and wait times. Absolutely no consideration to updating customers waiting for their car, and a lot of "looking busy". Only 2 guys were ACTUALLY working, out of the 6 I seen this day. Long wait time for a place with 6 bays and not enough working. I do not recommend, very smooth quick talkers here! Nothing #1 about this establishment! SAVE YOURSELF THE TROUBLE!

(this shit took almost 1 1/2 hours to install 4 tires and it was not busy) I was greeted by a staff member with dirty hands, WHERE GLOVES! or wash'em (Strike 1) then after the keyboard wiz started slapping pricing into the system like he was santa's elf on the 11th hout, not even concerned about what I wanted or needed, I explained this was a TireRack delivery and install. I then get this BS price of $91.. okay seems close, but something's not right, problem is the keyboard wiz just padded the order with a bunch of unnecessary costs, I had rubber valve stems added, the fact is if this guy took 10 seconds to ask what I needed we would have been much better off - guess what , I have TPMS.., no TPMS service on the ticket.. of course the Mgr. wasn't there.. So after wondering why things didn't jive I asked him what's up and the response, which was "Oh we don't do TPMS as a normal service" like it was his first rodeo from TireRack, what a goof ball.. He then removes the rubber vales stems... after a new receipt is printed I sit down, they pull the car in and I can't locate my receipt.. I ask the guy for a copy so I can call Tire rack and explain the current pricing they have is way off.. he's response is "Well what's wrong?" (this is strike 2).. I said the install is $15.30 per tire should be $11.40 and the TPMS is not even on the work ticket you had (which was actually in the trash). I then get "oh I had you down for a "Regular" install .. is this guy kidding.. then we make it to the labor/tire install - (Nothing more I hate is people getting in My cay that have Dirty hands and pants).. as a courtesy I washed my car prior to bring it in so they would be working on a clean vehicle. after 50 min into this I see the guy who's installing my tires go and check a white dodge ram's oil -( I'm like oh shit pants - FOCUS BRO) - that grease/dirt is gonna end up in my car, and why is he doing this in-between putting my tires on - that's how someone forgets to tighten lug nuts.. then another 10 min in the same guy is pulling another vehicle into the garage.. I'm thinking for fricks shake FINISH installing my tires... So after almost 1 hr 30 min I get to the check out and I'm told "we took a little extra time cause we didn't want to scratch your rims (like that's not standard business practice ). - I'm then told "you know what I don't like about Brand A and Brand B car company's naming of models, they don't name their cars like mustang"... How can this place stay in business at this rate of work.. I'm going back to Tire Discount, in and out in 15 min, I drive my car in they do the work and I drive it out, I'll pay $100 more just because of their service ... The only part of this that was flawless was Tirerack.. this visit wasn't worth my time and the concern of dealing with a sales guys who tried to undercut TireRack by selling me Firestones brand tires after he messed up the original process with my order... Horrible Manger! I brought my car in to get the back tires and alignment done. When I got my car…read moreback the inside front panels were hanging and cracked apart with screws on the floor and tools left on both the passenger and driver side. They had no business or authorization to be inside of my car pulling out panels. When I confronted them and pressed for answers they admitted there was another crv that they got mixed up in. I got paper work and pictures of the damage and that they touched the wrong car. My appointment was at 11am I didn't leave the place till 4:30 due to confronting them on the damage they did and that they were working on the wrong car and breaking my panels. At the very least they could have reimbursed me for being such a horrible place of business and leaving my car in a state that looked like thieves broke in. That's the last time I saw my car in that state with panels hanging and cracks in my car panels is when my car was broken into by thieves. EXTREMELY SAD they won't reimburse me for the $302.82 for my tires alignment and back tire rotation for such a horrible mistake and damage to property not to mention wasting my valuable time. Firestone corporate office just keeps saying they'll get back to me in 2 to 3 days. When the 2 to 3 days came and went I called to be told 2 to 3 days more. So if you think corporate is going to make the situation better don't hold your breath. They don't value their customers or the customers property as far as I have seen and they don't call you back and resolve the issue for the wrong they did!
