I have no real complaints about this garage. Maybe somewhere there is a chain that only does oil changes, but this isn't it. I went here because my own garage couldn't fit me in before a trip. Like garages in my home state that issue annual state inspections, this garage makes serious money suggesting additional needed work. They give you the price and the manufacturer's suggested frequency of each maintenance repair. They will look up your vehicle on Carfax in case the repair history supports their efforts to sell you this work. As near as I can tell, Carfax reports are more reliable for auto body repairs than mechanical ones, but never mind. It can help them make the pitch, and it isn't like they are making it up. Besides, it is just a sales pitch and you can say no. The person I dealt with was not pushy or rude. He implied that the place where I bought the vehicle was remiss in not changing transmission fluid, but who knows - he might have been right. I declined that repair as it sounded pricy, and passed on the A/C maintenance as it seemed to cool just fine to me. I actually allowed the cabin filter to be replaced for two reasons: I thought buying something might head off more suggestions (which it seemed to) and when he pulled it out from behind my glove box it did look dirty. I looked it up later and I did pay over $40 for a $10 filter, but I didn't even know it was there and now I know how to replace it myself as needed, so it was a trade off. They got me into the shop immediately, but there was a 15-20 minute wait before they started the oil change itself (after the sales pitch). I assume they had to go to the parts place across the street for the filters. Can't expect them to stock them all. So I will keep going to my own garage for my oil changes when I can, but the vehicle did fine on my 1400 mile trip, so like I said, no real complaints; merely observations. read more

I have used Valvoline Instant oil change for at least 5 years in Bloomington, IN. They were professional and knowledgeable. Here in Mt. Dora they are Katty they women. Will argue with you about things that they can't even work on. Zach is the worst. Looks at my battery and says come here everyone, look at this. Says what the fuck is this? It only has 90 day warranty. Everyone started laughing. Not that I care, my feelings aren't hurt, I am in law enforcement. But that is just childish. Worst service so far. read more

Not happy at all. Beware! I went in and said don't touch or look at anything, my car was dialed in the way I like it I said. I was clear and specific. All of a sudden all of the panels are up, caps off and they tell me I need this and that which is all BS! They pulled out my filter which I told them not to do and started saying it was bad and installed incorrectly. They were the ones that did it the last time! It had oil splatter all over it. I told them to close the hood and then I was out of there. Aggressive upsell hustle. I won't return. It's almost better to go to the dealership and pay a little extra and beat the aggravation. Buyer BEWARE. Amateur mistake left me stranded on the side of the road for hours after all the oil blew out from the filter. Rookie mistake. No refund, and a RUDE delivery of the bad news. This place sucks my ASS. If you use them after reading this, you are gambling with your automobile. Don't do it. Go anywhere else. Do it yourself ONCE and you are light years ahead of them and more knowledgeable than they are. The only way I will ever stop telling the world about this is the day I get a full refund. Almost instantly Valvoline customer service and online media reached out searching to help. They were all about email us this and that info. Which I did and we'll wouldn't you know they have not had any response to that email. ...although they did have a separate "standard" survey with an up to $7 discount - they recieved the same information on the survey that they had in the Yelp review . The maintenance minder on my Honda CRV AWD tells me to change the differential fluid, a $220. Job at the dealer. Thinking to save a few bucks I bought two QTs of Honda Dual pump fluid ll, considerably more expensive than the generic. I called the Valvoline drive through oil change at 17500 US441, Mount Dora FL 32757,confirmed that they did not sell the Honda product, that would bring my own gear oil . The differential holds 1.32 US quarts I asked for my empty and the second bottle with remaining oil and bottle returned to me no problem. Unless you confirm that the bottle of fluid is a sealed manufactures product before the tech get it and the bottle and fluid never leaves you sight before it goes into your car you cannot be sure what went into your car. If you bring your own fluid put an identifying mark somewhere on the bottle and get it back. In my case the differential case holds about 1 1/2 of q US QT of fluid, by getting the half full bottle back I could use it for the next fluid change. When I arrived, 3/4/25 I explained both techs I talked to that I wanted the empty and the half empty bottles back, no problem. After the work is "completed" I ask for the empty and the half-filled bottles. I get some nonsense about being in the drain rack,. Where is the half-filled bottle?" I used that to flush the case", HUH? This was something new to me, why would you flush the case? How could you do that with 1/2 a Qt with 1 1/2 case just poring it one hole and out another without moving the VEH? I drove around the block and returned, the tech was on his break, I waited until he returned going over this again to be sure of what was said, at the end of this the Tech gives me "Honda Dual pump ll Fluid" bottle that he told me was new but wasn't one of mine with, you guessed it had a damaged / broken seal containing who knows what. Now I don't know what was put in my car, in fact I cannot be sure anything was done so what to do?, take it to the dealer for the $200. Diff oil change, I recently moved and do not have the where with all to do it myself as of yet. Another nice touch is the "guest information has my name right but nothing else, invoice: 82672, I guess if Valvoline checks up on the service it will go to a friendly source. read more

I have had several oil changes at this location that were all performed with professional service. However, my last service was a disaster. Upon arrival, I asked if they could install a wiper blade for my back wiper that I had already purchased. Yes, for a fee of $5. That was very fair. While watching the oil change sitting in my car, the tech roughly put the plastic cover back over the engine and closed the hood and motioned for me to drive out of the bay. I stopped and said that I hadn't paid yet. The tech thanked me for being honest and handed me the invoice for $112. I noticed they charged me $9.99 to install my back wiper blade instead of the $5 I was quoted. 3 techs stood around, discussed with the original tech who quoted me the $5, but had started working on another vehicle, and just stood there looking at the invoice scratching their heads. I finally just said nevermind, paid and left. At my next stop, the smell of oil burning was strong, so I opened my hood to check. I was shocked to see oil spilt all over the engine cover,down behind the radiator and along the front where the latch is. I drove back to have them clean it up. The tech had the temerity to tell me he wiped it off and that what I saw was water?! (yes, I have breast, so I am ignorant about cars) I pointed out the greasy hand marks on the engine cover and swiped my finger over several areas and came up with oil, not water, and pointed out that I was sitting right there and did not see him wipe anything down. The next day, I looked at my back wiper and noticed half the plastic molding was gone and the hard plastic protective sleeve covering the blade was still attached. Long story, but it turned out they had broken the wiper arm. This oil change cost me $112 for the oil change, a greasy engine and $208 for a new back wiper arm. No wonder they tried to shoo me out of the bay so fast without paying! read more

NEVER AGAIN! I was in a hurry because my wife had to go see her 90 yr old father. They charged me $70.00 for a simple oil change on a 4 cyl engine!!!! When I reiterated that I wanted Just an oil change, the attitude started. Then they had the nerve to claim on my receipt that I have an engine oil leak! This was, until recently, a Classic Lube and a great place for an oil change. My first experience here as a Valvoline was jarring. The cost of an oil change and two wiper blades went from $65 to $135. The corporate upsell is annoying, especially when products offered are of no use to me: power steering fluid flush when my car has electronic power steering. I was told I was finished and to have a great day before my wipers were installed and when I was asked to try them with the washer, I found they hadn't filled the fluid reservoir despite the receipt saying they had. Classic used actual washer fluid, they just filled it with water. Overall, the crew was nice, but seemed more interested in entertaining each other than anything else. read more

I am saddened to see the poor reviews for this location. I had (or thought I did) a problem following a Valvoline oil change from another state. This is a 2 part review! 1. Calling Valvoline customer service started my experience. The rep was friendly, helpful and efficient. I planned to drive to the closest Valvoline and have my car looked at. As I was about to head out, I got a call from customer service checking where I planned to go. I had not realized the closest location was almost an hour away. Hearing that we are in Florida on vacation, the rep said she would call me back. That amazing rep arranged for the closest store manager TO COME TO OUR VACATION RENTAL! 2. The Mount Dora FL location. Talon, the manager at this location called me and set up coming out. He was pleasant and personable and called again on the way. Showing him the oil on the garage floor, Talon thought it was thicker than motor oil. He slid under the car, talking to me as he checked the oil filter and plug. Both were dry. Talon did not stop there. He kept looking under the car and found a loose transfer case bolt where fluid was dripping. He made a short video showing the bolt, loose enough to turn by hand. He showed me the video and then tightened it as best as he could and advised me to have a dealer tighten it to specifications and check to make sure the fluid did not need topping off. By far the worst place to have your oil changed unless you have 2 hours to spare. This was the second time I've got there to wait in line for "just 20 more minutes" only to spend another 45 to only see one car advance. Most of the staff just sit around and laugh it up with each other. I realize that they must be scraping the bottom of lake county's barrel to find these guys but you'd think someone would be in charge enough to whip them into shape. I would recommend literally anywhere else for an oil change, or never get it changed and let your car die and go buy a new one...it would be quicker. read more

I recently purchased a Groupon for an oil change at this location. When I arrived there were five or so cars in front of me And a line forming behind me. I was in the first row out of three waiting. A little while later a gentleman comes out and places number cards on Each vehicles windshield. About an hour down the line I'm finally in the next car in the first row. As the car in front of me leaves I go to pull into the service area to which I was stopped by a gentleman who I assume was named Moe since that is what his shirt said. I asked him why he stopped me and he said "can you please back into the parking spot the number cards say that there's one car ahead of you" I then explained that I saw all the cars that were here when I arrive and knew for a fact I was next and he told me basically too bad that's not what the card said even after I told him that the gentleman who put all the cards out didn't do it right when the cars pulled up so in fact couldn't know who was next and who wasn't. Then I asked to speak with the manager and Moe told me he was the manager and he couldn't do anything. Frustrated at this point and not wanting to argue I decided to pull back into the parking spot and let the car ahead of me assuming that I was next. As that car pulls into the service area row twos car pulls ahead. Seeing that I get out of my car and say I thought you said I was next what is going on his reply was please go in Row three that truck will be out in four minutes and somebody will come to talk to you I finally just pull in to row three trying not to argue assuming it would only be for a minute as that is what he told me. About 10 minutes down the line a guy walked up to me and asked me to pop the hood of my car so he can fill up my fluids I said OK and he pops it then I proceeded to ask is someone going to talk to me which he never really responds and basically walks away not doing the fluids like he said nor answering my questions About another five minutes and I'm done waiting. I drive out of the line to the office so I can get corporates number. While I am doing this a gentleman is screaming asking for his number card back which I explained that I was just going to the office and he can take it however nobody was in the office so I went to the rows and asked for corporate number. Moe comes and shows me a piece of paper and says this is corporate number I say OK and go to take it and he says no this is somebody's receipt you can't have it I say OK I'll just take a picture to which I do and then leave. I would just like to say while all this is happening I have a screaming toddler in the back and I am 5 1/2 months pregnant. Would not recommend anyone goes here not sure if the people that went in front of me was someone's friend or something but they definitely pick or choose. Horrible customer interaction. read more

They made me sit in the bay for an hour. I watched five cars go through. They did everything and told me my tire was low. I said yes. It was a slow leak. Please just pump it to the recommended amount. I left and hit a gas station. I noticed they hadn't pumped my tire up. I took care of it. It makes me wonder what else they didn't check. Last time I was there it took awhile. I'm never going there again. Not only did I pay $80. They never serviced my tire. The guy I talked to during the service was kind of a jerk. When I arrived it was crowded, so I was told to park and then I would wait for 40 minutes. No problem. When I finally was able to pull into the bay, I would say I was there another 30 minutes. I received a receipt with everything checked off as if it were done. As soon as I pulled out, my car started to ding and said "low oil pressure". Pretty odd since I supposedly just had my oil changed. So I backed up and someone came to see what I wanted. He had no clue that I was just there even though I literally just pulled out. I showed him my receipt and he told me to get back in line. So there I sit for another good 30 minutes waiting for my turn, again. When a technician checked my car, he said they drained my oil but did not replace it. Wow! Not sure you can get much more incompetent than that. So here I sit waiting my turn again in the Florida heat and I can't turn my car on because I don't have any oil and my hood is up. I am offered a 20% discount coupon for my next visit. Don't worry I won't be back and I don't think anybody should spend money at this establishment. Not to mention while I was waiting I heard another customer complaining that her car has been leaking oil ever since she got her oil changed. Definitely do not recommend this particular Valvoline. I am appreciative of Miguel that was helpful in resolving my issue to the best of his ability. But I really feel like I should've gotten a refund for my time and aggravation. I have been here twice now and they are very helpful and thorough. Much faster than other places and I like that I can stay in my car rather than having to wait in a lobby. I like that they tell me options for which oil I can get so that I can compare prices on my own. I am especially pleased that they do an extra check for the caps and valves being on and tightened after each oil / filter change. read more
