Came here a few times to make sure I was confident in this review and each time was sadly the same takes 1-2 hours to get in the bay and then even when I let the employee know I'm current on all maintenance and don't need their inspection just a quick oil change they continue to push to the point where it becomes very uncomfortable and even after all that they proceed to do their check and the last time they broke the clips on both my q50 engine air intake boxes when I told them not to open them so won't be returning two new boxes from Infiniti were 240$ each before installation thank god my local dealership felt bad and just charged me for one install for both but unneeded work for a problem that I didn't create when I was transparent to the the employees read more

This Valvoline is always my go to location as it's close to home and prices are fair. Usually the technicians are honest and don't try to take my money for things that don't need to be replaced. They always educate me on my car and the service technicians always try to move as quickly as possible. Saturdays are usually very very busy so you might want to try to go on a weekday. Stopped in on a Thursday afternoon at 12pm, proceeded to wait in line for about an hour and a half. The oil change process took about 45 minutes and counting which is relatively fast but have been to locations that move much fast. Didn't seem to have much urgency as some lines went quicker then other. Multiple times during this visit the staff is constantly taking breaks. Lastly the guys joked around about draining or not draining something because it would take 11 minutes and is a bigger vehicle. I went in for an oil change and the manager informed me that I would be needing all these extra services like differentials and other things. I have a newer vehicle and follow the manual for scheduled maintenance. So I let them know maybe next time. I also called the dealer and they said I did not need that for my vehicle as it was not time, I had another 15,000 miles to go. A week later my gear box lights went on and my car just shut off while I was driving. I never acquainted it with them but now I do. I went today and I think his name is Gary the Asst Manager I was first surprised he was the Asst Manager with the lack of Customer Service skills. He was abrupt. He seemed irritated and bothered to be doing his job. At one point I tried to ask a question about the two types of oil he recommended and he said I can't hear what the hell you are saying. Quickest, easiest most professional oil change I've ever received. Took ten minutes with three other cars there. Not pushy salesmen vibe either. The manager and assistant manager were both on the floor working with the other guys which you rarely see and their communication lead to fast efficient service. Noah took care of me. I very rarely review places but I feel like I should with this business. I recently had taken my truck to get an oil change, during the time they had struggled to open my hood so I had to open the hood and I also described on how to close it to the person working on my vehicle. Once when they finished they did not listen to me about closing the hood and they had bent the hinge. I had to get the hinge replaced and when I called valvoline the manager had told me there is nothing they can do because it wasn't on the cameras even though I have a picture of the bent hinge. Another thing that had scared me was that one of the workers came up and shockingly asked "where did you get your oil changed last?" even though I had brought it to them before this incident. So that made me wonder if they did a bad oil change before. I used to use valvoline but I will no longer recommend or go back. read more

After my last experience, I was hesitant to come back here. At the end of my pregnancy, coupon in hand, I sucked it up and decided to give them another try. I'm glad I did because the staff, Arnold in particular, really redeemed themselves. I came in with my husband's truck and specified the oil type he wanted (since it's a high mileage vehicle). Arnold looked at me and asked if I'd been in before, then named the type of car I'd brought it. I said yes, and he promptly apologized if I was offended or upset last time. He explained that the whole "conventional vs synthetic" conversation was because staff would actually get in trouble with "corporate" if they put synthetic in because it could ruin the engine. We ended up having a nice conversation where I explained to him that the previous visit would have been much nicer if Gary had just ASKED me if I knew any of the specifics about my car, rather than seeming to assume that I didn't. I didn't get the impression that Arnold was trying to shine me on and, as he never mentioned anyone from the home office reading my previous review, it seemed that he was genuinely bothered that I had left upset last time. He gave me a discount on my service this time to make up for the frustration I experienced last time. After this experience, I'll happily come back. do not go!!! I went for an oil change last week, they changed the oil and double gasket the oil filter. I had no idea and went home. The next morning on my way to work the oil light comes on and I check and I have basically no oil. I went to my mechanic and was told they double gasket the oil filter. Since this Happened my car is making a weird noise. I went back to tell them what happened. They changed the oil again free of charge and said the car should be all set and the noise should stop. The assistant manager then offered me a free next oil change. The next day the noise started up again. I went back to tell them what's going on about the noise. The assistant manager then asked for the card for the free oil change and said they are going to email me an offer for a feee oil change (that never happened). After that they refused to help any further with the car. Do not go here. Avoid at all costs. Could damage your car and leave you with the bill.. so now I've noticed this post is constantly being taken down on google so that tells me you scum bags must have paid google to do so but No worries I'll be posting this on everywhere. So just an update they have officially removed it from google. This just further proves my point. It's just away to mislead people and not give them all the info before risking destroying there car. Most scumbag, lying, place I ever went to. Went in for an oil change in a car I just got like a month ago. Everything was done on the car and it runs perfectly. They tried to up sale me on a power steering flush, ac recharge, and a battery. I worked at Jiffy Lube before so I know how the game is played. I told him I just got the car and I don't need all that. They told me to go back to J&M and tell them they sold me a shit car. I went to the dealership and Dave showed me that the battery was still new, ac was blowing 46* degrees. The manager at Valvoline told Dave that he does whatever he needs to do, to make his paycheck. I have been using Valvoline for some time now. Service has always been sufficient for me. Others I know have had complaints about some staff but my experience has always been okay well up to today. I attempted to get an oil change and was directed to bay 1 Two other cars came after me and pulled in front of Bay 2&3. A service associate told all 3 of us there would be a 15-20 min wait. I was reassured I would be first and if another bay was available sooner they would have that person move. Well that did happen. The woman in bay 3 was allowed in first. I beeped the horn to let the staff know and the employer let the woman stay anyway. I wasn't going to wait longer especially when I was overlooked. Pretty annoying and not the best service today. My husband went here for an oil change for the first time. He went deaf last year due to an autoimmune disease and can hear some with his hearing aid and cochlear implant, but it is limited. This place requires the customer to remain inside the car during the oil change. The person doing the service, which my husband believed to be the manager, was trying to ask questions while he was working, which my husband could not hear of course. My husband told the man multiple times that he has hearing problems and that he would have to speak up, but the man continued to look away and mumble. The employee also started rolling his eyes, making faces and looking annoyed when my husband had to keep asking him to repeat himself. NEVER GO TO THIS PLACE They have nobody directing you to what lane they want you to park in and are very slow. I pulled in a lane and they had me move to another lane so a car that was there before me can switch. No problem and I moved to the lane they told me. I always come here for the convenience. Its always very quick, under 15 mins. I get coupons via email every time i go as well, so it usually costs about $35. Worth it for the quickness and no appointment needed. They do try to upsell you for things like wiper blades and air filters. Even if you do not need them. I just say next time. Today they tried to sell me a transmission flush for a special rate with my oil change, showing me what its about and why its necessary, on a computer outside my car window. I declined the service. It was anything but instant - I waited behind one car for about 30 mins and it was already in progress when I arrived. The staff took their time. There is only a oneway driveway in - the only way is out through the garage bay so you're stuck. I usually go to jiffy lube but came here hoping it wouldn't be as crowded. Very friendly, professional service. Prices are "meh" but I wanted to post about a particular occurrence where my car had a leaky oil pan and radiator. I brought the car back after a recent oil change due to a leak. The manager (Roger I believe) told me about a stripped thread on the oil pan plug. He fixed it for free and also pointed out a smell of coolant that was indeed a leaking radiator hose. I had it fixed a few days later. He may have saved my car. read more

If I could rate them a 0 I would! I brought my car to Valvoline on Rubber Ave in Naugatuck on Monday 11/9 for an oil change. While I was there they removed my air filters and told me that they needed to be replaced. They replaced the one under my hood but did not have the cabin air filters in stock. After the oil change I went home for the rest of the day. The next day I dropped my youngest daughter off at school in Naugatuck and drove to Seymour with my 5 yr old. On my way back to Naugatuck, my car stopped working on Rt. 8. I was able to get it off the highway where it broke down again. I called for a tow and my husband had to leave work to go pick up our daughter from school because I couldn't get to her. My car was towed to my mechanic to be fixed. They called me the next day to tell me that they checked out my car and they believed it was the throttle body. They gave me the option of getting a new one for $850 or a used one for $250. I told them to order the used one. The part came in on Saturday 11/14 and when they pulled out my throttle body they found a piece of paper had been stuffed under my air filter which pushed into my throttle body causing the damage. It wasn't until then that they knew that it was Valvoline's fault. I looked up the phone number that was on the paper and it was for a company that delivers the oil to Valvoline. After my car was fixed I went to Valvoline to file a complaint to be reimbursed for my repairs. The manager told me that they were at fault and if it was up to him he would give me the money right there but it had to go through his district manager. I have been calling customer service every other day for assistance and no one was getting back to me. Today the district manager called me and told me that they reviewed the tape of my oil change and he admitted that they were at fault. He said that because I didn't call them when my car broke down on the highway that they won't cover my repairs. I had no idea when my car broke down that it was because the "reputable company" I brought my car to for an oil change did something to damage my car. He offered me a credit to be used at Valvoline in the amount of the repairs but I told him I would never feel comfortable bringing my car there again. read more

First time getting service here - usually change the oil myself but when its below freezing out I have someone else do it. Anyway, everyone else had the same idea that day...and I get in the slowest line...great. After a wait, one of the workers comes out and apologizes for the long wait, then tells me to move lanes cause its first come first serve. Get in the bay, and the team of employees proceed to not only change my oil but check a bunch of other critical fluid levels. These are professional, funny and get the job done right.
