I went to this place three times just to get an oil change. * The first time, I arrived around 10 AM, and they told me they were short-staffed and it would take a long time. They suggested I come back at 11 AM. * I went back at 11, and a woman told me it would still be about 20 minutes. I was busy, so I left. * The third time I came back, the same woman told me they would only change my oil if I stayed there the whole time -- otherwise, they wouldn't do it. She even said I had "come three times and affected their work." That makes no sense -- I had to come back multiple times because they were slow, not because of me. Instead of apologizing, they blamed me and even refused service. Very unprofessional and rude attitude. I'm very disappointed and would like to speak with the manager about this experience. read more

In need of an oil change or other service on your car? Look no further than this Valvoline in Upper Arlington. I had never been to Valvoline before, but now I would be hard pressed to go anywhere else when I'm in need of a tune up. To preface, I stopped by a Jiffy Lube on three separate occasions, one time it was too busy and the other two times it was closed (when the website said it should be open). After getting fed up with this, I tried Valvoline at the recommendation of my girlfriend who had used them in the past. I stopped by shortly after they opened on a Saturday and was able to pull right into the bay. The manager Donell and employee Landa where extremely friendly and answered all of my questions when I told them it was my first time. The service was efficient, and they even gave me a coupon for an oil change without asking. I was able to stay in my car during the oil change, but I stepped out while they rotated the tires. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is due to the lack of a waiting area. The "lobby" that they had me wait in during the tire rotation was maybe all of 35 sq feet, lined with extra car batteries and reeked of cigarettes. However, if you are just here for an oil change and don't need to leave your vehicle, the service was top notch! read more

I went here to get an oil change. The regular place I go to got a lot more expensive and and I would also have to wait. I was able to get in right away. The guy who helped me was really nice, but talked ridiculously fast. Multiples time I had to ask him to repeat himself. At one point he checked my cabin filter which was really dirty. He said it was $15.99 and he'd throw in a 15% discount. Because he talked so fast I wasn't 100% sure of the price. I ask him to repeat himself and again I heard $15.99. I told him to gho ahead. After I got the bill it turned out to be $59.99. I explain to him what happened. He said he sometimes talk fast and is hard to understand and he'd take care in the future. I should have had him remove it but I needed the filter I falsely assumed they were honest and that was a typical price for a cabin filter. I said I'd pay for it. A decent place would have at least given me a larger discount. When I got home I searched for air filters and found the same one for under $20 and could find other brands (probably better quality) for close to $10. You might think it's because of installation costs. It took him less than 60 seconds to take it out less than 60 second to install the new one. This is just plain and simple price gouging. I know it's my fault for trusting them and not having them take it out. I thought I found a new place for oil changes and other maintenance. Now I'll never go back to any Valvoline Instant Oil Change. It hit me later why he talks so fast. You are not a customer that they care about. They want your money and then you can go to hell. They need you out as quick as possible to get to next victim in line. I submitted a complaint on the main website and they gave me a discount for a future oil change that was less then the one I used this time. Like I'd want to go back anyway. This is a great little shop that you should do business with. The staff is quick, friendly attentive, and extremely courteous. You also can get a discount if you simply ask for it. You do not need a coupon. Simply ask. I may not be your dad, but I'm still gonna give you some advice. So listen up Pilgrim. You need to change your oil on a regular basis. This is not silly stuff made up by old men or greedy marketers. Changing your oil frequently is the key to making your cars engine last. My iron pony has 297,000 miles on it cuz I changed her oil frequently. Treat your car like you would a good horse... and it will serve you well. I used this place multiple times in the past & had not realized that they would shortchange me on oil. After the last oil change, I checked the oil level (electronic, not dip stick) & the gauge showed that it was only about 85% full. I went back & was told that it was OK that way. Today I had an oil change at another place. I counted that they put in 7 quarts & the gauge was at 100%. That means that the time before Valvoline probably put in 6 quarts of oil but charged me 7.2 quarts based on the invoice. Buyer beware. read more

I typically change the oil in my truck on my own, we use this location for all of my wife's oil changes as well as any that are needed in the middle of winter. I recently had my oil changed at this location. And when I moved my truck the following morning, I found two large oil spots on our new driveway. I believe the technician failed to clean the vehicle underneath the oil filter after it was replaced. I now have two large oil stains on otherwise new driveway. Absorbent material has not drawn the stain out of the concrete so I am left with a large and unsightly stain on otherwise new and clean driveway. I would not recommend this location under any circumstance, and VOIC has yet to respond to my complaint directly with them. bad service, bad customer service. read more

I usually go to the Valvoline on Roberts Rd in Hilliard, which has always been a good experience. I was short on time and this was close to where I was doing errands. Never again. I had the most bizarre experience here. They screamed at me as I was pulling my car in, it took too long, and one of the employees dripped oil all over my car engine. read more

Slowest Valvoline ever. Then after they directed me into a lane and moved someone to where I was, the lane next to me completed the person beforeme and took the person after me. No one said a word. After waiting 40 minutes, I left and will go to another store Reading below - sounds like this is common. Went there for an oil change and a battery replacement and had a terrible experience. -First problem was they took off my skid plate and then couldn't get it back on. Have never had an issue before, but after they changed my oil I sat there for another half hour while they were just drilling under my car. No one told me what was going on, until finally the person underneath yelled and asked if I even "wanted it back on - cause it's only really needed for off-roading." Told them yeah, and then sat for atleast another 15-20 while they just kept drilling. After that, I got no explanation or anything, they just sent me away, and I had to ask them whether they even got it back on. Then turns out they only put a couple of the bolts back in so it's been flapping underneath now. I got there about 45 minutes before close, and the people working were very vocal about wanting to leave, so seems like they just did the minimum to get me to go. There were 3 people working, and I was the only car in there, and the two up top just stood around for the near hour I was there until finally 1 went down to help whoever was underneath get it back on. Look, I get if it was difficult to screw it back on, and they wanted to go home, but the least they could do is tell me what's going on. - second issue, they either lied about or failed to properly check my battery. I had gone to a previous Valvoline a couple months before and they told me my battery was going bad and that I'd need to change it next time. So I told this location that, they checked and told me it was perfectly fine. Now 2 weeks later, battery is dead and I'm having to figure out that. Been a Valvoline customer for many years but I would not go to this location. There are a lot of other Valvoline locations around the area where I've never had issues. read more

I have always visited the dealership or a mechanic and was looking to streamline life in this Covid world. Firstly, wanted somewhere I could not only get an oil change but have tires rotated. Second, wasn't clear if I needed an appointment but loved that when I called the number I could hear if there was a wait... there wasn't! Lastly, drove myself right over and had an amazing experience. The open-air drive through bays, staying in your car, and masks precautions were seamless and safe as can be! My experts included me in process and educated me on things that actually wouldn't be necessary this visit (tire rotation), things to consider and add on if I'd like (I'd needed new wipers and like my oil change been putting it off) one stop shop, in and out, excellent service, friendly staff! I have previously been with my BF when he went to another Valvoline location and I was very impressed. We happened to be in the area last night and after wasting my time trying to get in at another company for an oil change and hearing their excuses as to why it would take 1.5 hours to get to mine, I decided to try out Valvoline. I was very impressed with the professionlism of the employees and how thorough there were. I was their last customer and I mentioned I was going home to replace my tail light bulb when we got home. He said since I had the bulb, they would replace it for me at no charge. I will be back again!! I am sold on their service and it was worth the extra cost. Since this was my first time as a customer, I texted to their code they have advertised and immediately got $5 off my bill. I also earned points on my Speedy Rewards card!! read more

Valvoline Instant Oil Change on Riverside Drive is hidden away. You need to pay attention or you'll zoom right by it. I did a quick oil change there on a Sunday morning about 11AM - the place was quiet and I got right in. The young gent who was attending did a fine job of looking my record up (from Powell location). He made the run through of lights, wipers, air, tires, etc.... and I politely said, "Just oil". He stopped and had the crew go right to work. The operation looks less professional than Powell but its location sure is convenient for me - just a short drive down Zollinger then a quick turn North and I'm there. I like it but can't give much more than a 3-star for overall conditions and operational equipment. The staff was cool. read more

Antonio and Tyrin did an excellent job on my most recent oil change! I really appreciate the speediness of Valvoline, but it can be somewhat annoying if the mechanic is constantly asking to repair/replace/upgrade every little thing. Upon my arrival, I politely told Antonio all I needed was an oil change, and he did not push anything on me at all. He checked everything and let me know that all of my levels were good, and it was finished in about ten minutes! Antonio and Tyrin were efficient, professional and polite. My husband had an oil change a few months ago and recently noticed he was leaking oil. He went back last Friday and asked them to check. He was told there was no leak and they gave him another oil change. He went back to work, and when he went to lunch, he found more oil under the car. He wound up having to take a half day off work to go to the dealership to pay for another oil change because both times. Valvoline failed to change a filter particular to his kind of vehicle. I called Friday afternoon and was told the store manager would call me that day. No call. I called back Monday and was told by the store manager to bring in both receipts and they would refund the oil change. My husband has been at the store the last 45 minutes while the assistance manager gives him one reason after another why he can't give him the refund. What terrible service! I pulled in and parked behind a car being serviced. I waited to be acknowledged for a few minutes then decided that I must need to go inside. After I tried the door, that was locked, one of the two men instructed me that I will sit in my car. I then sit in my car for 15-20 minutes to only be told that they do not have my air filter in stock. I asked if they could just change the oil and was told no. By this time it is 4:00pm and they close at 5:00pm. One of the men let me know that I could drive down to auto zone and get one but reiterated they close at 5:00pm. This is one of the worst experiences I have had getting my oil changed. They men were both very nice about the ordeal which makes me think its a policy issue or lack of proper training. I will not be using Valvoline for any of my future needs. read more
