Having items delivered from this furniture company is such a hassle. Received emails and delivery dates keep changing. Knowing it is covid, we already have much patience to accommodate delays and try to support local business. To this day, the items are still not delivered after weeks of the first delivery date we were given, while the delivery date was already months after purchase. The company also made no effort to communicate to customers or ensure things are delivered except wanting you to pay for the items to start with. I will rather to spend more on other companies for their products or services in the future so can get better services without stress to go back and forth to get any delivery confirmed or completed. read more

Let me start by saying that I'm happy to change this review once I see any updates on my order (happy to provide order # privately) or solutions to my problem. I placed an order for 2 couches, a 3-seater feathers couch and a 4-seater feathers couch more than a month ago. I received an email telling me that they shipped and they got all the way to the delivery hub which is 45 minutes away from my house - they've been there for 2 weeks! I called the warehouse to see what's going on and they told me that the couches are in the delivery hub but are on hold as per Valyou furniture's request and they're on hold until further notice. I tried to inquire more but they told me I should reach out to Valyou since there's nothing else MWD can do for me. I called, emailed, texted with different people from Valyou for days and I received so many different responses, mainly them blaming the delivery company. I offered to go pick up my couches but I was told that's not possible for some reason. I spent $2600+ on this order yet I can't even get it. One associate told me he expects the issue to be resolved in 3-5 business days, another one tells me I'll receive a clear update around Friday. Friday rolls around and I'm told to wait for another update NEXT Friday. I started reading more reviews and I'm honestly regretting my purchase since every day I have less and less hope of receiving the items I spent good money on Valyou furniture continues to lie to me and beat around the bush. I was on tiktok and the algorithm put a video by a young lady named Dalanena Frierson in my way and she's had the same exact problem with Valyou furniture. Her problem kind of escalated to a whole Twitter war between her and VF and she ended up receiving an apology and her couch in a timely manner by a founder. Is that really what I need to do to receive the items I paid for? I need to start a Twitter war? So far my experience has been beyond disappointing and I will be advising family and friends against purchasing anything from Valyou furniture. I don't think they're a scam but something terribly wrong is going wrong on here. read more

UPDATE as of 12/8: Jenna reached out to me and I appreciated her and another associate (over the phones) empathy and understanding my frustration. I can understand that as a new company they are still working to tweak their company's communication skills. But I commend their desire to reach out to their customers and to take a personal approach to remedying our frustrations. While she expressed that she was unable to repair my chair, she did give me a $100 credit to use if I wish in the future, with no expiration date. While I am still hesitant, I still believe that their products are overall lovely, and they match the decor of my well perfectly. I will make sure to check that the product is on island and begin communication early with them. Everything started off well and it went down hill. I ordered my dining table and set of four chairs on Aug. 22. I was told it would take a month of so to get because it had to shipped to Hawai'i, which was acceptable as we were not moving in the the beginning of Oct. They gave us a discount on yelp, so extra bonus. Fast forward October, there is some back and forth emailing to secure the delivery date, because we live in a condo and need to reserve the elevator. Finally get the table, they set it up, delivery drivers were very nice and pleasant to have in my home. But, where were my chairs, it was now October, shouldn't my chairs have been delivered? I have to contact customer service, they don't contact me regarding my chairs. They said they will update it. Now it is early November, I again am reaching out to them. Finally hear back that is it on it's way and I will receive it. Mid November, I again contact and hear that it is at the harbor and give me a delivery date. The day before it is supposed to be delivered, they cancelled to say it was stuck at customs. This is annoying as I am also contacting my building to reserve the elevator. Another week goes by and nothing. It is now November 30 and I am POed because they made no attempt to remedy any of this. And on their site it says that my chairs can be preordered and delivered by November 29. At least point, I wrote a firm email demanding either a delivery date or full refund. That evening I received a delivery date for the next day. When the four chairs arrived, one of them had slight damage, which the guy putting it together noticed. He took a picture and sent it back to their office. I had to reach out to them and the said they would get back to me in 48 hours. That did not happen, after that point I was completely over it. I had no interest in sending my chair back to them, not knowing if I would ever get it back again. They finally called back, but I let them know that despite they had limited options to remedy the issue, that I didn't want to do business with them anymore. They warehouse and shipping service must be a hot mess. But in all honesty, if the product can be verified on island, then it might be worth it bc the quality isn't bad and it's a decent price. But if you do not get a set date and you want your furniture, DONT DO IT! Even with all of this, in poor taste I was sent an email, asking to write a recommendation on yelp and google and would be rewarded with credit to their store. read more

This reviews is LONG OVERDUE. I'll talk about both their staff as well as the product. Let me start off by saying FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE every time! I have worked with KIANA on several occasions throughout the last couple years and when it comes to buying my own personal furniture, passing her information on to my clients to decorate their homes/condos, or just to get an opinion on new space ideas that I work on, she is your girl! From start to finish I have always enjoyed doing business with her. I have stopped by the showroom a few times but typically order directly through her over text/phone/messenger. (Actually, not to spill the beans, but If you guys are interested, she runs a Facebook Group called Valyou Furniture Warehouse were you can reach her directly to purchase.This girl is kind of like Wonder Woman, always everywhere, and she helps run the business behind the scenes so you probably won't catch her on the sales floor! But if you want some outstanding help and really someone who works hard to make your space enjoyable, I would really recommend her). I'd like to mention that Kiana goes out of her way to send me videos, photos, hops on a FaceTime, or deeply explains the negatives and benefits of each product. I've never felt pressured by her or any other staff members to purchase either, I simply feel like I go in on a mission and I get the real responses and opinions I am looking for. I've checked out a few other island shops over the years and I get that kind of car sales man vibe I don't enjoy too much, i don't have anything against the other stores I go there on occasion for other items and I understand it's just business but would prefer more of a genuine experience and to feel helped rather than pressured for a sale. Especially since I work with high-end clientele, I always need a sales rep or assistant that will really help me out with finer details that I'm the end make the big difference. And truthfully that's what I feel what I receive with Kiana and her Valyou team. Thank you guys again for all the help! As for product, I have mainly bought a handful of different versions of their feathers sofas, some of their more bohemian/Bali items which I think are all handmade as well as some chairs and coffee tables for a few different spaces. I can't say I've had any issues with either of the pieces or their deliveries...I did have a time where I bought one of the handmade nightstands for a space and there was a minor color issue between two because of the weaving material used, but I reached out to Kiana and she had it quickly switched out within a day for me. It wasn't a big deal since hand made items usually have some small irregularities, (but because it was for a clients home, they were a bit pickier than me). All in all the exchange and the process went very smoothly for me. The drivers did a great job also, all very polite and take their shoes off in the homes and make sure to be careful. Kiana even threw in a Hawaiian cookie package to apologize for the inconvenience and the clients really appreciated that! Have to say, this review really was overdue and I hope it helps some of you future buyers. And kudos once again to Kiana, I feel like I can't say good enough about her and her service! I needed a new mattress and the mattress displayed in the furniture store caught my eye. I wanna know how it feels like so I sat on it and I liked it. I ordered the mattress but when it got delivered to my house, it was totally different from the displayed one. The mattress is too soft and it's so uncomfortable! I went back to the store cause I want to return it, but they told me they can't help me at all! They instructed me to contact their call center that was based in the Philippines instead! I tried reaching out to the call center and they sent me an email that the fastest way to contact them is thru a text message. Every time I will send them a message, it's always a different agent that will message back! The first one asked me to send a picture of the mattress, so i sent it but didn't get a response. I messaged again, a different agent responded and told me that their mattress in non returnable because of their policy, sales person at the store never mentioned anything about the non returnable policy! The agent told me he/she will check with the manager and will get back to me, but no one did! I also called the sales person's number on the business card but it just directed me to the voice mail and it's been 3 months already, still no one gets back to me. I messaged the call center almost every day to ask for a refund or a store credit for another type of mattress but will tell me that it's not possible and offered to give me a 30% discount refund instead . It's so hard to try to communicate with their call center that's all the way in the Philippines so I have no other option but to take the 30% discount refund that they said I will be getting within 2 weeks, it's already September and still nothing! I've been waiting for the refund since June! Whenever I will message them to ask for an update they will just keep responding it's still in process! It is so disappointing! Take my advice and STAY AWAY. I debated whether I should order a bedframe from Valyou because I had read some extremely negative reviews on Yelp. I ignored them and ordered one anyway because hey, furniture options on Oahu are few and far between, and maybe I would get through it unscathed. It was a huge mistake and continues to be a nightmare. I ordered the Charm bed at the end of March. I was called shortly thereafter because the headboard that I had selected was actually out of stock and would take 2-3 weeks to arrive. I said I would wait for it, but in the meantime I would pick up the rest of the bedframe from the warehouse. The warehouse gave me a banged up looking box that said Queen on it. Upon arriving home, I discovered that it was actually a KING size, and clearly someone had returned it because it was ripped up and in terrible shape. I brought it back to the warehouse and requested a bed in the right size that was NEW (who thought you would need to ask for something unused when paying full price??? INSANE) and was given one. Fast forward to 3 weeks after my order, when the headboard should have arrived. I got a call from Valyou saying that there were delays and it would be ANOTHER 3-6 weeks. I said I would wait. Two weeks later they tell me it will be ready for pickup the next day. On the pickup day I get a call saying that the shipment arrived, but all of the headboards are damaged, and now it will arrive sometime in May. When in May? They have no idea. The customer service is a joke. I asked to speak to the supervisor and was told that the person I was speaking to is the manager. Unless you're the President of the company, you have a supervisor. I asked for a refund and was told that they would have to get back to me. At the end of the day I will have to wait AT LEAST two months for a bed. Take my advice, save yourself the angst, and go elsewhere. It's not worth it. read more

If I could give less than 1 star I would. Absolutely terrible experience. I ordered the Charm 2.0 bed back at the beginning of June. The website indicated it was a "preorder" item and that they expected the beds to be shipping out around the first week of July. Didn't receive any updates on the order by July 14th, so I called the customer service number and while the woman who answered was very pleasant, she said she didn't have the ability to search for order numbers. She also paused talking to me several times to yell at a child or children I could hear in the background. She told me she would email me within 24 hours with a full update after she talked to the warehouse staff. Next day, received an email stating that they didn't have an update on when the bed would be available, but they were estimating receiving everything in Hawaii in the first week of August, and it would be about 10 days from that point for me to receive my order. While disappointing, I know supply chains are messed up due to the pandemic, so at this point I was still willing to be patient. Flash forward to the first week of August, and still no updates. Called and emailed again and got the same answer that they would have to look up the order and get back to me. This time I received and email from an "escalation manager" who said it looked like the bed would be available in their warehouse in the first week of October and I would receive it 10 days after that. She also sent pictures of a few other beds as potential replacements...all of which looked absolutely nothing like the bed I wanted. I politely declined and decided to cancel the order and request a refund. Received a very polite email response apologizing and telling me my refund would be credited within 5 to 7 business days. It has now been 9 business days, and I still have not received a refund, nor have I received any responses to my calls and emails regarding it. At this point, I'm about to dispute the charge with my credit card and file a complaint with the Department of Consumer Protection. From the reviews here it does seem like the showroom has a much better record and people that were able to actually get what they wanted received nice furniture, but I will never do business with this company again and would advise everyone else to do the same. read more

It's really difficult to find furniture in Honolulu that is both stylish and affordable, but Valyou did it for me. The delivery was also very easy. Um..NO; your workers made that mistake so they can do it. 2nd time they delivered correct color but DAMAGED couch (during this delivery I heard the workers mumble that they were the same color as the first delivery. funny because the first delivery boxes say LIGHT GREY & the correct/2nd delivery boxes say DARK GREY). But I don't expect ppl who work for this company with a high IQ. 3rd delivery, couch still had a DENT but they assembled it for me for free so I guess. These people don't care about your hard earned $. They just want to make a sale. They don't even know their own finance policy. However, they did a good job fixing their mistakes. I visited both the Kakaako and Kapolei location and received great service on both occasions. All the employees were wearing masks and they were also all very nice, patient and knowledgable about the products. I was shocked to see how cute and affordable their furniture was! They also offer free shipping and free delivery, which is pretty much unheard of for something that large in Hawaii. Also installation for my couch was only $20! One thing that was a bit inconvenient was that my couch came in later than expected because of a shipment delay. But like I said, free shipping and delivery for something that large to Hawaii is pretty much unheard of and it was still totally worth it! Very disappointed that my delivery got pushed back 3 times. And I had to call to inquire. No one called me to let me know the status of when I should be receiving my furniture. And I keep getting a text saying our logistics team will be looking in to it. When I called them they said they would call me back and still no call back. I asked for a refund and still the answer I get is "our logistics will be looking in to the matter". I understand covid may slow up the delivery process but there's no excuse to why they cannot keep the customer updated. communication with the customer is key. Poor customer service and inventory control!!! Went into the store and was pleasantly surprised by the selection. The furniture looked modern and displays were very nice. We have been looking for a recliner for a while and was happy to find one that was motorized and didn't look bulky. However, when we inquired the sales rep had no idea what inventory was available. She said that there were no recliners available at her store but stated that if we drove to their warehouse there would be several open box/returned ones. After arriving at the warehouse, the front desk said that there were none available but said that if we drove to the kapolei location, there was a floor model. Wanting to confirm this ourselves, we tried to call the kapolei location. However, you can not reach the store. The ala moana branch staff was very helpful, they were knowledgeable of the items and answered all of our questions we had for the couch that we purchased. Fast foward 3 weeks when the couch was delivered we were surprised to find that it was slightly different from the couch that was in the show room. We called the staff and explained out situation and there were some complications that came up but the customer service line was very helpful and accommodating. I appreciate everything they have done for us. Even though our order did not turn out the way we wanted it to, we decided to exchange the couch and replace it with a sectional. This review is not about the stores service or merchandise. It is about there covid safety protocols. I applaud them for having a temperature check, and hand sanitizing station. They also have a misting gate that you must go through. While I don't object to misting stations I do object when the staff can't tell me what chemicals I will be sprayed with. When I asked the staff they said it was a water based sanitizer. That tells me nothing, every sanitizer I have read about is water based. If you want someone to get sprayed before they enter your store at least provide details on what you are spraying your customers with. I really don't want to get sprayed with chlorine, bleach, ammonium etc.... read more
