After multiple attempts to reach them by email and phone - with no response - I'm now in the middle of disputing the charge with my credit card company. Unfortunately, we are having to cancel our contract with VAMP Beauty less than two months before our wedding due to their failure to uphold our contract. I reached out to them four times over the course of a month, and they failed to respond to outreach or schedule a trial appointment. During this time, my VAMP Beauty client portal has been deactivated, and I am no longer able to view my past invoices, contract, or upcoming payment details. Additionally, it has come to my attention that, according to the Oregon Health Licensing Office, both their esthetician (inactive June 2024) and cosmetology (dormant August 2020) licenses have lapsed or become inactive. It was not an easy decision to cancel my hair and makeup artist less than 8 weeks from my wedding, but after multiple recent negative reviews regarding unprofessionalism (in the last 3 months) and the challenges I have been facing with their poor communication, we were left with no other choice. I reached out to them one final time one week ago, requesting to cancel my contract and seeking a refund for the $800+ I have already paid due to their failure to provide services. Everyone I spoke to about the situation (wedding planners, other vendors, friends, family) agreed that it was rife with red flags and that this company cannot be trusted. Since that final email, I have only received one short message trying to schedule my trial a month late and with no acknowledgement of my other messages. I do not post this review lightly, but I would hate for another bride to be put in this terrible situation. Hopefully these issues do not persist and that other brides are able to enjoy their services, but I cannot in good conscience recommend VAMP Beauty in any circumstances. read more

Chelsea and her assistant did such a great job on our wedding day. She originally had two assistants but one had a family emergency and so she only had two which stressed me out a little and on top of that my bridesmaids and I started 15 minutes late because we got there a little late. So a little time crunch turned into eventually they ran almost 40 mins behind our planned schedule..BUT we still managed. I could tell she was rushing on me a little but it really didn't matter because she did such a good job. Best part is her and her assistant totally played it cool and didn't show stress on their own faces. Overall everyone was happy and it all turned out totally fine. She's also the only reasonably priced bridal hair/makeup in Portland so that amazing. She's pretty much a one-woman business and that kind of shows - but overall I'd totally recommend her! read more

I booked Chelsea to do my makeup for my wedding and my reception. She was paid before doing both and then was asked not to come back for the reception makeup and hair. Despite not doing my hair and makeup for my reception, she still kept the money she was prepaid. After repeatedly asking her for a refund (she charged $736 for both events), she finally refunded $160, not the full $368 that should have come back to us. I asked her again, always very politely requesting that she reply back to me, but she completely disappeared. So I guess she got a free $208 for doing nothing, Very shady business practice. There was no reason for her to keep payment for a service she never provided and then stop replying back to me. I realized people in the wedding industry really take advantage, and Chelsea definitely did. Update: First, you never had me sign a contract, so that would not apply. Seeing how you never supplied me with a contract, I would not have seen any policy. Second, you were already booked that day for another bridal party and had let me know that you were going to be fitting me in between jobs. Since I asked that you not come back, that would have just made it easier for you to continue on with your other appointments. Then when I asked for a refund of the amount prepaid, you not replying back to me was incredibly unprofessional. Not once did you mention a contract or policy. You just completely stopped responding because you knew I hadn't signed anything. read more

Chelsea did my hair and makeup for my wedding last spring. I originally was never going to post a review, but when I think back on my wedding day, my experience with Chelsea's team was truly the only negative part of my day, so I feel like it's relevant to share with others planning to use her. Chelsea did a nice enough job on our hair and makeup - my concerns are with her business practice and professionalism, not her talent. 1) My main concern was that it took Chelsea and her assistant 5-hrs to complete a 4-hr (quoted) job, and they still didn't get to the whole party we booked. As the customer, I relied on Chelsea quoting me with the correct amount of time needed to perform hair and makeup on my group. We were lucky we planned for a little wiggle-room on the backside, but even still one of my bridesmaids had to do her own hair last minute because they ran out of time. The assistant she brought was nearly 9mo pregnant and unable to stand/work for the full time they were there, which contributed to them running late. **I completely realize this wasn't the assistants fault at all - the assistant was very hard-working! I just wish Chelsea would have considered that it might be a problem or at least factored it into the timeline. At the risk of sounding like a "bridezilla", this was just the last thing I wanted to be worried about on my wedding day. Lastly, they arrived and set up late, pushing us back an extra 20-mins. 2) Chelsea and her assistant talked bad about previous clients while doing our hair and makeup. It was uncomfortable and awkward at the very least, and made me feel like they'd be doing the same to us afterwards. 3) Chelsea over-charged us by $330 in the final payment. I luckily caught it when skimming my credit card statement, and she did refund us the difference when I brought it up later. But anyone planning a wedding knows you make a lot of purchases and it would have been very easy to miss this on my statement. I can't say whether this was intentional or just an oversight, but it was frustrating and concerning nonetheless. read more

Chelsea is a lash goddess. She does such a good job at them that random strangers will compliment them in public. That is kind of a big deal for me considering I literally have RBF.
