Two in our party of three requested and ordered our usuals. The youngest in our party tried and loved a new topping. Staff were nice. Seems busier than usual, so it was a good thing we planned to take our custom orders on the go. Always looking forward to returning.

Vampire Penguin has been on my radar for a while, and I finally got the chance to try it. Walking in, I wasn't quite sure what to expect, and I did feel a little overwhelmed at first. The interior is very busy, with snacks and merch in the front corners, and it felt a bit crowded. The décor definitely leans hard into the Halloween/vampire theme, which fans of that aesthetic will probably enjoy. Ordering was slightly confusing. There wasn't a menu listing the premade items, so you had to wait for them to scroll across the TV screen above the register. There was however a detailed menu for building your own dessert, which was helpful. We arrived later in the evening, and it seemed like they were starting to wind down for the night, but the staff was still friendly and took our order without issue. Our wait time was about 10 minutes for two items. I ordered the Peach Blossom, which was much sweeter than I expected. When I think of shaved ice, I usually imagine something closer to Korean style shaved ice, especially since it's Asian owned, but this felt more like a fusion dessert. My daughter ordered the Butterbeer and enjoyed it, though it was also too sweet for my personal taste. The main downside during our visit was the bathroom. The toilet wasn't functioning properly, my husband had trouble flushing it and had to open the lid to mess with it and about 10 minutes later my daughter experienced the same issue and had to text us from inside. It's something that could become a bigger problem if not addressed. Overall, the experience was interesting and unique, and I'm open to giving it another try with maybe a custom built order. A few improvements would really elevate the experience.

After every Christmas or choir performance, it has always been a tradition to go out for ice cream. My parents did this for me growing up, and now it's something we continue with our own kids. After my son's performance, we gave him the choice between Baskin Robbins or Vampire Penguin, and even though we had never been there before, he chose Vampire Penguin. It's such a cute spot with fun, creative snow cones. The ice is light and fluffy, and the toppings are very "extra". We each ordered something different, and I went with the Fruity Pebbles; it was delicious! I'm not sure if the cashier was the owner, but she truly made the experience. She was friendly, quick, and took the time to explain all the snow cone options. Her energy and kindness made the visit even more special.

The concept is super cool. Different flavors of shaved ice. Great for all ages! I enjoyed the Mexican candy and my nephew got the build your own. You order at the front and you are served your shaved ice. 4/5 for personal reasons... I am purchasing shaved flavored water. But it's what the nephew wanted. Haha! $8 for regular $11 for large

We ordered Thai-Bo which was Thai tea snow and coffee snow minus the bobas since they've ran out and Coffee Toffee that was coffee snow with pieces of Heath toffees bits. Both shaved snow we ordered had very faint taste of flavor but was soft and fluffy and the toppings helped make it tasty. Beware of the caramel, it is veryyyyyy sweet. Service was good and the decor was cute.

Great little spot to get what the call "shaved snow". Imagine Ice Cream in shave ice form. It was pretty dang good! Service was quick after ordering our desserts. I wanted a vampire dog also but I didn't want to wait the 15 minutes for them to cook it.

Delicious shaved ice! They have many options but we chose the strawberry churro, and strawberry cheesecake shaved ice. Flavors were not too sweet and very enjoyable. Inside was clean, with cute decor. Unsure if there are any other places like this in Fresno but will return. Service was good, I'm sure it can be overwhelming at times but the girl taking our order was nice and patient. This place had been on my radar for a while and I'm glad I finally tried it.

A disappointing visit. I had the Mangonada. I found it too sweet with no detectable mango chunks. The drink took a long time too.

We love this place. We had tried this amazing dessert originally at Koja Kitchen. Love the variety of this place. You can get something fruity, chocolaty, or customized to your tastes. The shaved ice is not like a snow cone or ice cream. It's more like a sugar snow. You should give it a try! Its different but delicious.

It has got to the point of us waiting for the next month's flavors. This review is long overdue, but Nummy Yummy deserves high praise and recognition for is deliverance to excellent and tasty dessert for the Fresno community. We went here again just a few days ago and it still hits the spot. The menu typically rotates ice cream flavor every month. Not only ice cream, but they also have warm taiyaki! This place reminds me of SomiSomi chain, but to be honest, I think Nummy Yummy is better. All of the staff here are super nice, patient, and always willing to answer your questions. I've come here a lot and have yet to come across a grumpy staff member (haha). The location is in the corner of the RN Market plaza. There is plenty of parking, but I wish they hadn't taken away the indoor seating. There is nowhere to dine in and sit other than the dirty bench outside. I see the majority of people just eating in their car. I hope they decide to offer more flavors and toppings. The various Asian flavors are a hit, and a suggestion box from the public could be an idea. Also, not sure if the eye is playing tricks, but seems like their new cups provide a smaller portion than the old cups. Hopefully that is not the case.

So I looked for a local dessert place (by picture from other Yelpers) and I was in the mood for ice cream or fro-yo. I didn't realize that this place is very similar to the Somi Somi franchise; but still gave it a shot. Inside is very small and plain = NO SITTING so it is literally take-out. Ordering is simple and the cashier was friendly. I wished the fro-yo portions matched what customers received in the past, and there was no option to order small, medium or large. The flavors: pistachio not overly sweet was perfect for my wife. I ordered the half chocolate half brown sugar and only could taste chocolate so I was disappointed . Also their "fish" cone had a salty aftertaste. Overall, it's not an experience I would even give a 2nd try.

We were in town the morning after seeing the Firefail. Finally success on the third visit attempt. Amongst other shops on the desolate street stood an unremarkable window front where the repeat button has remained on since the 60s. Within was an eclectic mix of Japanese American household fixtures and Americana. Rustic. Nothing like Benkyodo's proper shelf presentation - or a hamburga stand. Some Japanese goods were on offer, but you come here for something sweet. We got a couple of mochi and manju, traditional red bean flavors, because that's all that was left. Their manju, seeming to have a different "batter" and "panini"-grilled, had a crumbly texture. The mochi though... Have you seen that viral video of that slapping mochi shop in Nara? What about people enjoying it? How soft it was, leaving a vegan cheese pull with every bite? This was by far the softest mochi I've ever had, and I thoroughly enjoyed the soy dusted yomogi. The bigger size of the mochi also accentuated the softness of the mochi. The matcha, also green, had a distincting different flavor, just so you know that the shop wasn't cheating. My partner in crime loved the lima bean mochi. The red bean filling tasted homemade, good flavor but not too sweet - the best compliment you can give an Asian in a world that remains overrun by pollo ala naranja. We are proud* that such a heritage perseveres on, especially in a part of town that's honestly become quite desecrated of life. Call ahead to see if the shop is open, and try to come early. The shop is a one woman show, and if my first two visits say anything, this lady enjoys having a life. And yes, she does sell out. She was nearly sold out when we visited. And try to enjoy the mochi ASAP. The mochi will last in the fridge. The texture will not. If you come at the right time of the year, the shop will have mochi in different fruit and pie flavors, and even ice cream mochi. *OK, "I'm proud of you" might be a bigger compliment to an Asian. And yes, there's Fugetsu in LA, but I haven't been. Though if you need a reason to visit the Fresno, you can always take the 99 traveling between SoCal and NorCal... Just need to be early if much is desired. If you're interested in AYCEat mochi, staying healthy, working out for free, and have an eye for the art of making mochi, may I suggest asking the owner for an apprenticeship? The owner's mentioned on articles that there's no one to take over and you don't become a master overnight.

The location does have one restroom inside for customers and plenty of seating indoors and some outdoors too. Location and restroom were very clean and staff were very friendly! I decided to try two flavors since I was only passing through and couldn't easily come back to try it again. I got two of their monthly flavors, the sweet corn and the treasure chest. The sweet corn lacked flavor, you can only get a hint of it. There were a few corn pieces mixed in, but they were few and far between, plus they didn't have a strong corn flavor either. I loved the concept but execution was disappointing. The treasure chest was very good, though I personally wished there was a more even ratio of brown butter cookie to brownie. I can't recall if I even got any brownie pieces. Flavor was excellent otherwise. The other complaint that I have is that the scoop is small. As you can see from my photo, my two scoops looked like 1 scoop. Not worth the price. I know competitors like Han**ls, where I'm a regular at, have given bigger scoops. All in all, still a great quality ice cream.

Looks like a traditional Chinese bakery with their decor and set up and heard the front counter lady say their food is more based on the south side of China. Their steam pork buns will always be a favorite. I was lucky enough to walk in when they brought out a fresh new batch so it was still nice and warm when I got home.
