A decent coffee shop with ample seating and minimalistic decor. The staff are friendly and helpful. The menu is quite extensive and can get a bit overwhelming, but they're mostly all differently flavored lattes with not too many deviations or signature combinations. The price point is quite cheap (~$5 for a coffee, even cheaper for non-flavored ones) compared to other coffee shops in the area. I would say the coffee here is very milk and sugar forward, though, which makes it easy to drink but may be missing the potent flavor coffee-forward people love. I do love that they have unique scones and giant cookies available which come in different, Korean-inspired flavors like kabocha and sweet potato! The scones do carry too much of that raw flour flavor for me, but I love their giant chocolate walnut cookie. Goes great with one of their lattes with a price that can't be beat! read more

First thing I noticed was that the prices were fairly cheap for coffee! Especially for flavored lattes, normally other cafe shops charge more for flavor but it's just straight $5 for a flavored latte. I ended up getting a coconut latte and my bf got an americano ($4). Overall pretty cheap compared to many coffee shops around! It wasn't so busy so my coffee drink was pretty quick to prepare. Small coffee shop as well, it does feel a bit more older and not as trendy as current coffee shops, but it's definitely a place where people can just rely on. The double espresso doesn't seem to be a great blend, but I liked how they served it Brazilian/Viennese style, with sparkling water on the side. We are always looking for new coffee spots to try around my area and Van Dkye was one that I've seen but really never checked out before! It's not too far from me in a smaller strip mall, and while I had no trouble getting parking, it's a smaller lot and I could see it being difficult if it was busier. The space itself is clean and modern and they have a very good menu with some pretty reasonable prices compared to most competing shops. My partner opted for a pour over which is apparently their specialty, but I chose an iced banana latte. I was in the mood for a baked good so I picked one of their huge blueberry scones too. The coffee tasted great and the scone was delicious too! My order came out very quickly, and I found the service fairly friendly though not particularly standout. I definitely think if the mood hits me I'll be back to check out more of their menu and coffee! read more

The place needs some serious cleaning and updating. The tables and walls are filthy. The floor and ceiling is falling apart. The customer service is genuine and kind. The coffee is much cheaper here in comparison to other coffee shops. They offer a stamp card and I heard they'll add shots at no extra charge. I didn't try pastries but I also heard their scones are delicious. I ordered the strawberry latte and it was delicious. So happy I found another coffee spot that roast their own coffee! I brought their new Guatemala pura fruta. When you buy a bag of coffee, you get a free drink except pour over. Coffee wasn't bad, however it was nothing special. Their banana coffee used syrup instead of actual fruit. Cashier wasn't the nicest and seemed like she was rushing us to order because she kept saying "hello? hello?" even after we acknowledged her by saying hello back and said we needed a second with the menu. Stared at us the entire time and told us she can take our order now right after we had just said we were still looking. Strange way to address customers and people usually need more than just 10 seconds to look at a menu. Mind you there was no one else in line and we only took a few minutes before ordering so there really was no need to rush us. The location of this place is just across the Fullerton Municipal Airport. I walked in to a very casual atmosphere and a friendly greeting. It looks like a good place to sit and watch the plane land and take off. Unfortunately, there was absolutely no activity during my visit. I found the place on Yelp and wanted to try the blueberry scone, but it looks like I arrived too late. They said they're already out for the day. I opted for the corn cheese scone since it's not a common item. I bit into it and it crumbled very softly and started to melt in my mouth. They did a great job. The year of the corn is there for sure and I taste it. However, it was difficult to taste the cheese even though I see the melted cheese. I think I would have loved having small bacon bits in this thing. I visited the roastery on the side. They were actually roasting on site. Best way to get the freshest coffee in town. These weren't just cookies; they were *gigantic*, the kind of dessert that looks like it could feed a small village. I asked the barista for his recommendation, and he pointed to an unlabeled cookie with pumpkin seeds and cranberries. He said the one phrase which gets me to buy almost any sweet, "it's not too sweet and soft". AND YALL. IT DELIVERED. I went in to purchase some fresh beans. They smell great, so I'm sure the quality here is great. Customer service though, questionable. There is literally a sign attached to the section of beans that says "sample 12oz" after I made my purchase I asked, if I could get a sample of another style of coffee beans. They said "we don't do samples" I pointed at the sign and they said "oh they must've wrote the wrong word, because we don't do samples" and then proceeded to give me the wrong beans... lol we'll try again some other time, maybe... but the whole sign that clearly states "samples" and their response to it was off putting, the wrong word. We did a big group order of a an iced tea, a pourover of the Mexican blend, an oat milk chai latte, a hazelnut latte, and an iced caramel latte. The staff was super patient as we figured out our big order. They were very polite and helpful. They also told me about the stamp card they have for free items. We sat at one of the few tables while we waited. Drinks came out in a reasonable amount of time. I really liked my latte and I am kind of a coffee snob. Local coffee roaster in Buena Park?! I'm very pleasantly surprised and very glad. The menu has everything you could want from a coffee place: espresso drinks, drip, cold brew and pour overs. I got the EINSPANNER and it was great! The coffee has a great, full flavor. The cream was heavenly! The HOT LATTE is also very good. I don't have the words to describe it but at first sip, the drink seems milky... after a few moments, you can taste how strong the coffee is. Not sure who makes their pastries but the Cheddar Potato Scone is new to me and was very good. The Chocolate Chip Cookie with Oreo Cookie on top is also very good (and very large). Today's quest to shop local brought me to Van Dyke coffee. I ordered an iced einspanner, which for me was a 2.8/3 due to the fact that as one of the other reviewers mentioned below the strength of the espresso simply was lacking in depth of flavor profile. I'm not saying that it was bad it's just for me with all of the competition it just fell a bit short in fact for me the flavor profile was more of a watery coffee profile rather than a deep rich espresso profile which is what I was expecting.
