This was my first visit to 1040 Coffee, and I really enjoyed it. Also shout out to Faith! She was super friendly! The atmosphere is cozy, welcoming, and there's plenty of room to spread out if you're looking to get some work done. I love that it's inside (or next to) a church--it gives the space a unique and peaceful vibe. There's also ample parking, which is always a plus. The coffee was a 10/10. I ordered the Winnie the Pooh Latte, and it was absolutely delicious. I'll definitely be ordering it again. My only critique is that it was pretty warm inside. Since we're currently in the middle of a heat wave, it would've been much more comfortable if the A/C had been running a little cooler. It honestly felt like the thermostat was set around 79°F. 1040 Coffee is a nice coffee shop located on the campus of a church. They have a decent seating area inside and outside of the coffee shop. The tables inside have a decent amount of outlets and they have wifi. There is also a stampcard for the regulars to buy 8 drinks and get the 9th free. I ordered the Butterscotch Latte ($7) and a Lemon Poppy Muffin ($3). Service seemed to be overwhelmed when I first arrived, since I guess a lot of people came all at once. My drink took a bit longer to make, which I didn't mind too much since I had my laptop with me. When the drink was ready, I liked how it was served in a glass cup for dine-in guests. The taste of the butterscotch latte was good, but the salted butter crumble didn't really do much for me. If anything it was like adding debris to a perfect cup of coffee. If I were to come back I would ask them to omit it. The lemon poppy muffin had me so excited but then I was so disappointed by how dry and tasteless it was. If you need to use the restroom while you're here, they share it with the restrooms on the church's campus so you will need to exit the café. The ambiance here was so working quiet even though it was busy when I got here. Then ironically as people left, and one loud family came in, it was chaos. Then when they left it was nice and quiet again. So, it seems like a coin flip on if this place will be quiet or loud. I wouldn't mind coming back if I'm already in the area, but I wouldn't go out of my way to come here. read more

Was in the neighborhood to meet up w/friends. Located on Crescent Ave + San Simeon in a residential area of Buena Park. Their landlord is a church so it's on a church property w/easy and plentiful parking. Was warmly welcomed by Courtney. Vibe is welcoming w/music, plants and Snoopy art on the wall. The strawberry matcha drink seems popular on the reviews but the Winnie the Pooh latté caught my attention w/the cinnamon, honey and teddy graham crackers. Chose almond milk as my base. Delicious! Ham and cheese croissant was good. Had these items in a glass and plate. Courtney brought these items over to me. At first it was just myself and a few customers in but, they were bustling shortly after 11 am. This coffee shop supports global initiatives. I was just visiting this area in OC. I went looking for this place and did not expect it to be next to a church so be on the lookout for that! The space is really cute and the staff was really friendly. I tried the Banana coffee and they used real bananas unlike many places that use syrups. I could taste the difference and I've been thinking about this drink ever since. I went back the next day just to find out it was only a weekend special so be advised you can't order it during the week! The next time I went I got the Teddy Graham with oat milk and an extra shot of espresso. The teddy graham crackers at the top were a nice touch but that drink was not nearly as good. My family (and very close family friends) love 1040 Coffee! We discovered them a few weeks back because of their Monday scooter club for kiddos. I love their campfire latte (decaf) that comes with a nice toasty, homemade marshmallow on top. The butterscotch latte is also good, and my partner likes their espresso tonics. I visited 1040 Coffee with a friend a few weekends ago and we were pleasantly surprised. The interior of the shop, while small and somewhat hidden, was very cute! I think they could benefit from a sign outside the door to make it easier to find. The service was kind and helpful, and we enjoyed the drinks we got. My friend ordered the Teddy Graham Latte and a matcha, and I got the blueberry pancake latte with matcha instead of espresso. The matcha flavors on both were okay, could have been a bit stronger but not bad! I got here just 15 minutes after opening and there was only one person ahead of me. The young lady that attended me was very warm and welcoming. Her customer service was genuine. I had my two year old daughter with me and she offered us a coloring book and markers (which just so happens to be her current hobby). I ordered the Winnie the Pooh latte. Went on a Saturday morning, and the cafe was fairly busy. However, with the rush, the workers were so kind and accommodating to all the customers. The interior was not the biggest but really quiet and a cute cafe, with even an outdoor seating area. Drinks: Espresso Tonic was so good 5/5!! Iced Americano was solid 4/5! One thing I love about this cafe is that the proceeds go towards a purpose. Funding missionary work in the 1040 window.
