Recently I had a 20 year root canal go bad and it was time for an extraction + implant. I had been super afraid of finding a proper dentist to do this procedure because I just could not trust dentists to not screw me over with pricing and procedures. I came to Shant at Dental Blvd through a recommendation and could not have had made a better decision. Shant was the 4th dentist I went to for inquiry about the extraction and implant, and not only did he quote me a price lower than anyone else I inquired, but Shant and the office staff me feel so welcome to be seeing a dentist lol. It felt like I was visiting a dentist who was in my family or something I ended up going through dental blvd for my extraction and implant. I got my molar extracted at the start of July and my implant is about to be finalized by the end of this year. Since then, I've come to Shant for a chipped incisor (front tooth) and filling replacement on a premolar. Let me tell you something else. My chipped incisor had been worked on by another dentist before, and that filling only lasted two months before it fell out. Shant not only repaired that dentist's work, he made it look flawless to the point where you would never know the tooth had been chipped in the first place. I don't think I can trust another dentist in my life anymore.

As I was walking over, she told me to MOVE my things (drinks). This girl should not be working in customer service, let alone in a dental office. Janeth, you should focus your time and attention on properly cleaning and disinfecting the operatory for the next patient--not on having an attitude. Right away I was in the comfy dental chair with my legs up and I was handed a remote. Flipped through the channels for a second when I realized I don't watch TV, ZAP-OFF! And I already had a numbstick in my mouth. A minute later this amazing woman started walking towards me in slow motion with a smile... Then I realized it was just Dr Sandra...I knew as she was wearing the glasses and the magnifying lenses, HA! She is great! She slapped a needle in my mouth and gums and my jaw was numb in a few minutes. The chair felt comfortable, I had Mr Tech's hand on one side of my mouth sucking away, and Sandra had the drill on the other and there were sparks flying out of my mouth in front of my eyes...(it might of just been water :-). So... trik, trak, Goom-Paat!!!... I think I dozes off, I was so relaxed. Everything was done, and my bite marks were on target and I was sent off! I didn't feel my mouth for about a hour or two, but that went away soon enough. Dr. Barry must have been at another location as I didn't see him the last couple times, but he has worked on my teeth before. These two are the Dynamic Duo In Dentistry! No urgency, no concern--just cold, dismissive behavior. Before even being examined, they handed me paperwork to sign stating that they have me sign n then will explain, NO! You EXPLAIN FIRST. How can you "consent" to treatment that hasn't even been discussed or evaluated? That felt completely inappropriate and misleading. I later saw that other reviews mentioned similar issues, and I regret not listening. If you are in pain or need urgent care, this is NOT the place to go. Only after the procedure was done was I told that it was not covered -- and that I would need to pay out of pocket before leaving. This kind of bait-and-switch is completely unacceptable. I had previously referred several patients here, but after this experience, none of them will be returning, and I strongly advise others to stay far away. I will also be filing a formal complaint with my insurance provider and exploring options to report this situation. Their practice lacks transparency, professionalism, and basic respect for patient rights. I will never return, and I encourage others to seriously reconsider before trusting their dental care to this office. Please refer to other reviews given to this office and the new ownership and consider going to multiple other dental practices in the area. In addition, my friends have far better things to do than to be reviewing a random dental office they've never heard of. They canceled on me twice, act completely confused over the phone, and won't let me do a cleaning and an exam on the same day. I can't figure out what their reasoning is. They have zero compassion and understanding and everyone who works the phones gives you a different story. Finding a good and honest dentist who takes HMO insurance seems to be an impossibility.
