I needed a jump start and a tow to the garage since my tire was flat. Kenny answered the phone and asked me a lot of questions to clarify my request. I got him to meet me at my place and he helped jump start my hybrid engine. I like it that he didn't assume how to jump start my vehicle and we both looked at the instructions first. I needed a tow cause my car was leaking power steering fluid, so I called Vancity Towing. The guy went above and beyond and was super knowledgeable. He gave me advice over the phone on what to do, and helped me find the least costly solution. He even texted me the number of an auto parts shop with better prices than what an automotive shop was quoting me to get everything fixed. At the end, he suggested a different solution that didn't require his towing services, which shows he has the customer's best interest. Very high customer service as I only spoke to him over the phone and never went with his services. Definitely recommend! read more

Car broke down in middle of intersection, called Vancity Towing -- a good man answered the call right away and organized a flat bed tow truck to picked me up within 15-20mins, it came on time as promised. The guy who answered the phone even took a moment to ask questions and diagnose the issue -- in the end, he was right, it was our alternator! Truck driver that came (different from guy who answered phone) was friendly, quick, and efficient. He was good tow truck driver -- like if you were going to cast a tow truck driver for a movie, it would be exactly him. He drove us to the mechanic right away and dropped us off. So, in conclusion; compared to the other 'big' tow companies in Vancouver, these guys were much better -- professional and quick -- I would recommend VanCity towing based on my overall experience today! read more

My car died on Kingsway. It wouldnt start. My friend came, and we tried to get it going, but no luck. so had to call a tow truck. I called up Vancity towing, and he said he would be there in 20 min, and HE WAS. Man of his word. Most other tow truck places dont come until at least an hour later. Plus this was on a Friday! Busy night. Kevin is his name, and he runs Vancity towing, and not only was he fast, but he was super nice, very careful with my car, and CHEAP! He only wanted to charge me 45 bucks! Most towing places will charge you around 85. I paid him 50, because i felt 45 was too cheap. Besides, I have Road star plus, which pays me back 50 bucks if i need a tow. This guy saved me! I was stranded in the left lane on granville street. He was the fastest to arrive, pushed my car across 3 lanes and then strapped up my car and took me home. He was a reasonable price as well! My car was dead, as in even the emergency lights wouldn't go on! The car was also stuck in park. He used a bobby pin to move the gear and get it in neutral. I also had him tow my car to the dealership in Richmond the next day. Super nice down to earth guy. Give him a call if you need a towing! read more

Vancity towing may be cheaper than others, but they caused damage to my vehicle's rear wheel's "control arms" by the tow chains. I asked Kevin (Vancity towing owner) and he avoids my calls and said the Vancity driver that towed my vehicle is "a contracted driver, separate from Vancity Towing, but pay's him to use their name and logo", such a rubbish and silly defensive response. What a boatload of crap. The repair cost me $360 and Vancity is unwilling to pay for it. Don't trust their tow truck operators, very shady, cut corners and they talk badly of most customers as I had witnessed when they take calls in their trucks. They are only money hungry and won't pay for any damages they cause to your vehicle. Shame on this business. They also just take cash and don't give a receipt. They also drive super rough and the drivers aren't trained to properly put the chains underneath the vehicle. 0 stars if possible. read more

After weeks of uncertain starts; my Honda Civic finally konked out on me today. I called VanCity Towing after reading the reviews in Yelp. All that was said was true. Kevin came within 20 minutes, asked questions to help me figure out what the issue might be with my car (most likely the starter) so I could make sense of being stranded out in the cold! Kevin efficiently towed my car to the mechanics and even dropped me off near my home. All for a very reasonable fee!! I called Kevin to get my car towed because it wouldn't start. my mechanic said to get the car towed to the shop so they could look at it. Kevin asked why I need the car towed. I said the car won't start and all the lights are flashing when the key is turned. I thought it was the imobilizer that prevented the car from starting Kevin asked if it makes one click or multiple clicks when I turn the key. I said it makes multiple clicks......Kevin told me it's my battery right away.......wait till morning when all the stores are open and either jump start the car or charge the battery over night and start the car when the shops are open and I can go buy a battery. I charged the battery over night and the car started in the morning and I went to buy a new battery. I didn't need a tow this time but if I ever need a tow i would call Kevin again. he saved me a bunch of money and time, gave me free advice over the phone and didn't ask for anything other than if I found what he told me helpful then to let others know. a great guy, very honest. saved me from getting my car towed and have someone diagnose an easy fix. highly recommended read more

Arranged to have my vehicle towed and said they would be about twenty minutes and had a driver on his way. I waited about forty minutes before calling back. My call was not answered. I again waited about an hour and a bit, attempting to call but again it rang. Never received any calls to follow up or apologize. Poor business model. Would not recommend to others. read more

Very unreliable and unprofessional. We arranged for him to pick up my car the next day, since he said his schedule was full that day. He also asked me to phone him to remind him about the appointment in the morning, which was my first clue. I did so, and he never answered, so I left a message. Went to start my car on the way to work and it wouldn't start. I had left my interior lights on for 2 days! In a panic, I yelped jump start and Vancity Towing came up. I really needed my car that day. He was quick to answer my call at 7:30am and came in less than 15 minutes... mind you, we only live 10 minutes apart. His truck could fit my small underground parking, most new condo's have low ceiling, so some tow trucks can't fit. He tried the portable jump start first, but that didn't work, my battery was literally dead. Then he showed me how to move my car in reverse while in neutral since most jumper cables are short in length, we needed to get the two vehicles closer to one another. Who knew a nail filer could be the trick to opening up the compartment that lets you move your car in neutral?! He moved my car because I was parked facing in, used his feet to push back the car backwards while in neutral. We got our cars near one another and it worked, it took a few tries, but my car started and I was told to drive around for 45 mins to recharge my dead battery. The price I paid was almost too little compared to the big guys, I was so grateful to have found such an efficient service and an angel to save me! I wish all businesses were this honest, helpful and sincere! read more
