Had the best spa day today! A friend of mine comes here regularly, so I thought I would try them out. I called for an appointment for a pedicure and a fill, and they got me right in. Love their services menu, they have several great sounding pedicures. I chose the "jelly" pedicure, and it was glorious! I wish I had taken pictures. I chose green tea scent. She poured the green potion into the tub, and tiny jelly balls formed, that tickled my feet. I soaked in this loveliness while the massage chair did its work. The fun continued with massage, hot stones, wax, hot towels, and of course callous removal, poor lady. It was all Wonderful! You must treat yourself with this great pedicure! My nails were horrible! I think the person who did them was new, because they turned out really bad. They were uneven, bumpy, and some were longer than others. Vanda is the BEST salon! I've been going for just over a year now and won't go elsewhere. Everyone is incredibly kind. My natural nail under my acrylics are suuuuuuper healthy! They take the time to properly soak off nails - and DON'T rip them off by leveraging a nail tip beneath like many places in the area. I use to be afraid to get a new set because it hurt. New sets at Vanda are painless. Their polish selection is extensive - more than I've seen anywhere else! I'm a cat eye girl and if you are - you'll DIE from the options! I always go in early to pick my colors because there's so many gorgeous polishes. Khim is a true artist! He can do any design and has an impeccable eye for detail and color theory. My nails are always the cuuuutest (imo). I go here for pedis too! The chairs are cozy and they use bowl liners. The massage lasts for what feels like forever and is soo relaxing. This one is for Khim! He's been doing my nails for almost a couple of years now, and I've followed him from other places because of his quality of work. The owner here is always very helpful too. It's a small space, and they can get quite busy, so I recommend being patient. If you want any specific thing done, all you have to do is show Khim a picture. He kills it every time. He's also very professional and I enjoy my time with him because he is always so calm and quiet. I'm always happy with my nails whenever I go for a full set or a fill. I walked in with a clean hand, no nails, asked for a full set of acrylics. I had a reference picture and the person doing my nails did not have any of the nail art that I wanted so I had to pick and customize my own nails, which is fine. As I was picking, and choosing what I wanted the person doing my nails was rolling his eyes, and getting irritated, because I was picking the nail art I wanted while making adjustments to how I wanted it while he was doing my nails. I simply chose to ignore his demeanor, and eye rolling, and thought to myself. If I'm paying for this than I wanted to look how I want it to look. Throughout the service, and all the eye, rolling and big sighing, my nails were finally finished. I looked up at him and I told him. I'm sorry because I could tell I was bothering him. He looked at me, and he started laughing , pretty much, confirming to me that he was bothered. I guess everything was OK. I was choosing to ignore all that bad energy and bad vibes. Until he gave me the price of these nails. A whopping $110 , not including the tip. That is ridiculously over priced, the nails aren't even full length. This will be the last time I go here, the nail artist "khim baby", has good skills, however, he made it not comfortable and also overpriced nails, totally abusing the price. I was somewhat satisfied with the nails, but I was very upset with the price. I've been coming to the nail spa for years and I never been charged more than $90 for nails. Happy. Disappointed I seem to never have nice nails, years of working in nitrile gloves. Last month in NYC I had a great manicure for $14 that lasted three weeks. I was getting ready to leave on a trip and wanted fresh polish. Yes, I did just walk in around 4:30 pm on a Monday night with credit card only. They said both were fine. I waited about 10 minutes. The finished job looked good. But by Wednesday while on my trip, chips and odd bubbles started to appear. After a week, this simple manicure with polish looked older than the three week old NYC manicure for less. No, I don't think I'll give them a second chance. I was excited at the time I could walk in. I'm new to the area so I took my chances. I asked for a pedicure and selected the $50 deluxe. I would suspect they would clean around the outside of my toe nails by using a tool to push back the bead skin and clipping it away. They did clip away but they didn't push back the dead skin and clip it. Also she didn't clean under my nails with a cleaning tool. Will never go back, looking for better service. Good, but small, location. The nail station I was sitting at was shoe-horned into a corner across from the pedicure chairs. With people doing pedicures it felt cramped. No drying station but they let me sit where I was for an extra 10 minutes to dry. Clean shop. I had the Signature Manicure which included a scrub, hot towels, a massage, and paraffin dip. It was wonderful! The massage was nice but not as strong as I prefer. I brought my own polish but they had plenty of choices as well. The pedicure chairs looked new and very nice. This will be the first and the last time I will be coming to this place. It was my birthday and my man surprised me with a pedi and a full set. Pedi was nice a little too pricey for me but since I'm pregnant my man wanted me to have the best of the best. I just wanted something simple. French tip for both my toes and my hands. I had a picture of how I wanted them. The lady told me it was fine. Since my man only made an appointment for a pedi I had two lady's working on my sets . The one on my hands took longer since she had to take her appointment I told her it was fine. She came back and told me to sit down. Normally when someone does French with nail polish they take they're time but this girl was in a rush. Nails are expensive and I expect to get what I'm paying for. If you don't know how to do them or don't have the material just say that before you think it's okay to waist mine and your time. I was so disappointed with the way this set came out. She told me to wash my hands and when I came back she was painting a girls nails when she was done she asked if I was paying cash or card and that's when I told her how much of a shitty job she did and requested I only did one color. Maybe it's just the tech that sucks but I had to pay $85 for a pedi and $60 for some nude nails. I don't know her name but she has short hair. read more
