I would not recommend this dealership to my worst enemy. I called them on Wednesday morning about a used vehicle I saw on CarGurus.com and cars.com. The Chevy Malibu was listed as a fair deal on both sites. I called and asked them about the final price after tax, title and license because I was interested in making a cash purchase for my son's first car. They asked me "How much money do you have?". I told them what my budget was and that I could not go over that budget. I spoke with the sales manager Jeffrey and he told me that they could get me in that car within my budget. I made an appointment. When we got there I told them who I was there to see but they seemed confused. They finally sat us down with a young lady who asked me if I was interested in financing the vehicle. I told them I had already spoken with the Sales manager Jeffrey earlier and he told me that I could pay cash for the vehicle and stay within my budget. The lady that I working with was like ok "Let me bring it around to show you the car and we will look at numbers later."My son test drove the car and loved it and it was evident to them that we were excited about it. When we went back in and sat down to work out the paperwork, she showed me a price that was above what I was quoted. I told her,again, what Jeffery told me and she said she would go talk to him. Instead of him coming back out to talk to us, she came out and said they can't give us that price because they "have three more appointments on the car today" but they will call us if they change their mind. Lies. Needless to say my son and I were very disappointed. I left because I felt like they were lying to us and playing games to squeeze more money out of us. Of course they called me a few hours later, but it was too late. We left and found another nice vehicle at a smaller dealership that showed more integrity and respected our time. This was a horrible experience and I hope noone has to experience what we went through today. read more

Do yourself a favor and buy a vehicle from another dealership. They will say and do anything to make the sale but then after that it drops off a cliff. It doesn't matter what you agree to even in writing as the service department will find a way to weasel out of doing anything they possibly can for you. When my vehicle had to be left for the day they refused to provide a loaner vehicle. After talking to multiple people i was told a range of lies between they didn't have any to they just flat out refused to provide one at the end because it wasn't going to be a "multiple of days." Another day had me scheduled for a simple install and was told less than an hour and to bring it on on Saturday morning, get to the dealership and they try to ask me to try again Monday because they can't find the paperwork. After miraculously finding it 20 minutes later they take the whole day to service it. If you you value your time and money please don't make the mistake of going here. read more

On Saturday evening, 6/10/2023, I would say around 8:15, possibly 8:30pm, I went to the Vandergriff Chevrolet Dealership in Arlington, TX., off I20 and Cooper to check out a Corvette C8. When I walked into the showroom, I saw 5 Corvette C8's, I really liked the black one with the red interior, I waited for someone to greet me, ask me if i had been helped or some interaction, I was ignored, 2 people looked at me and acted like I wasn't there. I get it to some extent, I wasn't dressed to impress, they assumed I couldn't afford one, maybe a couple of other things, but no one should be judged by their appearance because if the right deal were made, I was prepared to pay for the car right there on the spot. I have never experienced this kind of treatment while shopping, especially for a car and was very disappointed, I went somewhere else and was treated a whole lot better and will probably move forward with the purchase there. I will say this: Vandergriff Chevrolet in Arlington will never get my business. read more

Just spoke to a representative in the service department and it was amazing to see how uninterested he was in my questions. As a billing manager for a utility I know how important customer service is. I don't think they have had any training in customer service. The sales manager Marcus Guzman offered me $5000 less on my trade and was a very arrogant and rude man. The sales person and internet sales person both gave me false information and did not know their product. I went to a Lynn Smith in Burleson and was treated very well. They gave me what I wanted for my trade and gave me a fantastic deal on my new truck they went out of their way to make me happy. I will NEVER go to Vandergriff ever again. Horrible experience. I came to test drive a 2012 Porsche. Test drive was easy enough with a very nice salesman. When I asked about the advertised price I was told they would have to add $3000 for reconditioning. WTH is a 3000 dollar reconditioning fee. And what does a Chevy dealership know about reconditioning a Porsche. I should have known better but I was warned that this dealership was garbage. The salesman asked if I wanted to talk to the manager. Hell no!!! I was pissed. Never will I go here regardless of the price. I don't play games. read more

Wish I had read the reviews before wasting my time looking at a vehicle here. I found a truck on their website and the price was reasonable. There were two additional cash back offers listed and I also have a Costco membership that gives $1,000 off. I called Vandergriff to verify this before driving an hour to their dealership. After driving the car, we started talking price. The salesman gave me a printout showing the price to be $3,000 higher than the internet price. I was told that price didn't include Dealer add ons. After several minutes of negotiating, the bottom line was that I couldn't buy the truck for their advertised internet price. They never even got close to the online price and never took the Costco discount into consideration. This is a crappy way of doing business. This was by far the most awful experience going into a car dealership.. YESTERDAY MARCH 16th 2019 I HAD AN APPOINTMENT WITH A GUY THERE AT VANDERGRIFF CHEVROLET, well I got there And was treated as if I didn't have an appointment with a "salesman" jumping between me and other customers I got there at 2:30 pm for my appointment that was set to be at 3:00 pm. Well fast forward. I am a first time buyer and I mentioned that and also mentioned that I have the amount of money they're asking as "down payment" on the vehicle that I WANT. Well the "salesman" goes on to the finance deparment to see if I can get the vehicle or not. He came back and told me well this is the deal ma'am since you're first time buyer you will have to make this down payment and this monthly payments for this long. BOOM I AGREED AND WENT ON AND SIGNED IT. Waited 2 more hours and hello he came back to tell me well we made a mistake when sending the information out to the bank and now you cant get the car. I was damn near close to tears and angry. So I proceed to ask why? And answer was well you done make a Enough money and my response was ok but you took all my income information ever since I got here and he said YEA SORRY you can't get it. You need a co-signer. So I had a person to co-sign for me and by the time he co-signer did everything (filled out form) and MANUEL the salesman took it to financing he came back to tell me No SORRY YOU STILL CANT GET THE VEHICLE when another guy came and grabbed the keys off the desk and told him "OH HEY THIS IS WHAT IM LOOKING FOR" and left. And I just left he made us feel as if we're not good enough to get a vehicle or whatever. He was rushing through the process and made Us WASTE 4 hours of Time FOR ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. this was my first time buying a vehicle and nothing can compare it was a horrible feeling... to be told oh yes you can get the vehicle and hours later when they have someone else looking at it they come back to tell me SORRY NO YOU CANT AND BASICALLY RUSHED ME OUT THE DOOR. We had a little misunderstanding in the Service Department initially but when that was cleared they were Awesome and Very thorough!! They guys are very quick especially if you have an appointment. This is our 4th purchase from them and we recommend them to everyone asking, especially women, as sometimes we do not feel comfortable going to Service Departments. I purchased a 2017 convertible camaro. I think over the last 3 months - Vandergriff Chevrolet has had my car more than I have. I had to take in because the windows weren't adjusted correctly. Then I had to take in because the back window was coming apart. Then I had to take back in because the top wouldn't come down. Keep in mind EVERY time I brought my car in they helped me move my weights (10# dumbbells) from my trunk to loaner car. No one EVER said - hey don't put your weights in trunk because it could break a sensor. So I take in car and even though car is still under warranty they make me pay to fix this sensor! Then they back my car up for me and guess what - after fixing my sensor in my trunk - THEY PUT MY WEIGHTS RIGHT BACK IN THE TRUNK classic! Thought I'd try Chevy bought it's just a piece of crap! After picking my camaro up I went straight to Kia dealership and bought me a Kia - have had KIA's for last 10 years and they are AWESOME cars and I actually get to drive them instead of it always being in the shop! And they stand behind their warranty! The Kia Stingers are awesome cars! read more

I have a engine light on, which the Desoto Chevrolet did not advise me about when I went to them in 7/2017. I have to get an inspection and was advised, so I came to Vandergriff Chevrolet and parked in the service area, a guy walks up and ask if he could help me, he became unconcern when I let him know what the Desoto Chevrolet told me, he advised that I would need a Diagnostic done and they would need to keep my car for 2 days, he advised it would cost me $110.00 for the Diagnostic, he looked towards my car and states "Oh it's a 2015", you should be under some contract that he MUMBLED, and he did not try to explain it again. I became FRUSTRATED and left. I need my INSPECTION, and must be at the MERCY OF THIS DEALERSHIP due it being close to my home in Grand Prairie. I will update after I find out what will happen. (STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE, ESPECIALLY SENIORS )My wife and I found a used truck for sale on the web site. When we sent in asking for information , We were contacted in about 15 minutes. This was Wednesday 7/28/21 night. Kurt set us an appointment with Daniel Thomas (Kurt's brother?) for 9:00 am Thursday 7/29/21. We met with Daniel and drove the truck. After driving the truck Daniel told us that truck wasn't supposed to advertised at that price and that the price possibly could increase from $1500 to $2000 depending what the truck would need after inspecting? (Seems like a pattern with this dishonest dealership)The truck had a tire pressure sensor and air bag sensor light on . We left about noon and came back later to purchase the truck. When we came back, Daniel said that he had one of there mechanics drive the truck and check the transmission. All was performing as should be. We said all we wanted was those 2 items repaired. We asked if they needed a deposit, Daniel said no and the truck should be ready the next day.(Friday 7/30/21) Friday we called and text Daniel with no reply. We made an appointment with Daniel through the main number. We went in Saturday morning(7/31/21) at 10:00 am. We met with Daniel and made the purchase of the truck with cash(personal check authorized by the used car manager).After making the purchase we received the Purchase Agreement that stated the 2013 Chevrolet truck vin# 1GC1KYEG6DF138079 2500 LTZ crew cab 4X4 was bought and paid for by myself and my wife from Vandergriff's finance department(P.J.) We also have the Odometer Disclosure Statement in our name and the extended warranty in our names stating that the warranty started the day of purchase(Saturday 7/31/21). (If you bought a black 2013 Chevrolet matching this vin number , it was stolen from us) After the purchase Daniel said the truck wouldn't be ready until later that day. Daniel volunteered to bring the truck to our house after he left work so we wouldn't have to wait at the dealership(Sounds nice doesn't it??) He texted late that evening and said they had to reorder parts. It would be Monday at the earliest before being ready. No call on Monday(8/2/21) Daniel sent a text late Monday evening that Shane Keeling needed to talk with me. When we talked with Shane he said that he and the used car manager decided not to sell the truck to us. He said it had a transmission problem?($7000to $8000) .We told him that we already owned the truck and wanted as is. Our friend is a transmission specialist and his expert advice said we did not need to be concerned about the transmission He said that we didn't own the truck they did because we hadn't take possession of it yet? Our contract did not state any stipulations but stated we owned the truck at the time of payment and signatures. We argued with him and he said he was sending it to auction that day(Tuesday8/3/21. He was rude and screaming at me and my wife on the phone. Also said call a lawyer if want to??We had no right to the truck even though we paid cash and they had withdrawn money out of our bank account?(Seems illegal to me) We called the General Sales Manager only to told by (Kurt that the GSM was busy and he would handle the issue??) Same response from him. I sent the GSM 2 emails and 3 phone calls and 1 voice message with no response. We checked on Friday 8/6/21 (a week after we purchased the truck)on Car Fax and that truck was sold by Vandergriff but not at auction??(several days after Shane falsely claimed it was being sent to auction) When we called to try and have our money refunded(After 3 days of calling with no return call) PJ the finance manager said that Shane had told him that we changed our minds and backed out of the sale. A total lie.(Seems like Shane lies to everyone) We told PJ what had happened and that we hadn't backed out of the sale. When we said that we thought that after paying for the truck it belonged to us, he thought the same. He had Reggie Carter call us. There are a lot more details but we finally got our refund. We are both in our 70's and like another complaint , I'm also a veteran. Looks like they like taking advantage of older people ?? STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!!! Don't tell me to contact the GSM(THAT's A JOKE) Better to contact Texas Attorney Generals Office, BBS, DMV Consumer Protection They need to know what's happening to customers at this place. read more

Vandergriff Chevrolet's service is top notch! Although I did not end up purchasing my vehicle from this dealership, they became my go-to place for getting my car serviced. I've had two emergency type situations where my car broke down and I needed it fixed ASAP and Vandergriff came through on both occasions. Once, my car broke down around lunch time and my car was towed to Vandergriff. We handled everything over the phone and my car was ready to go by 5 PM. Another time, it was NEW YEAR'S EVE and my car started acting crazy (turns out it was just the battery). I was literally about to head south on 35 towards Austin but had to take a detour and go to Vandergriff. My car was fixed within two hours. Unbelievable. Although I now own a Honda, I would definitely recommend Vandergriff Chevrolet for service. They are outstanding! read more

I love Vandergriff, but I went in to get a number of issues resolved on my chevy colorado but unfortunately not all were addressed. My immediate issue for my manufacturer warranty was fixed and oil change too. But my tire sensors are still not working and my tires rubbing when I turn is still happening. I'm going to have to go back to get these issues resolved. I was hoping to have gotten it all fixed at the same time especially since they had my truck for over a week. Using a loaner vehicle was nice especially since I live over an hour and a half away. read more

NO NEED TO SHOP AROUND, THIS IS THE RIGHT PLACE. I purchased a used car a couple years ago from Vandergriff and was pretty happy with my decision. It was time to purchase an additional one(I still have my first one) but I was so pressed for time....I didn't know if I could get everything done quick... I actually called ahead and told the sales person that I had financing already lined up and just needed to see a few used cars quick! THEY RESPECTED THAT. I came in, sat down with Richard, told him what two cars I wanted to see. He grabbed the keys, I looked at both cars and we negotiated prices. They gave me their best price, which I thought was too high and walked away all within an 45 min. After thinking about it that night, The two years of free oil change, plus the chevy used car certified warranty, I felt that it was actually a good deal. I emailed the manager, Kelly Cook one last time to see if I could get the price down but he basically said that he was doing the best he could and could not go any lower. I agreed to purchase the car and I would have been happy with that, buying a car all within 45 min and an email...However, I came in later that day with my fiancee and we WERE BOTH AMAZED AT THE LEVEL OF SERVICE THEY OFFERED US. I mean, I have never been so overwhelmed with a sales reps kindness and a companies open door policy. Richard was unavailable but Katherine showed us around while we waited for the back office papers to be prepared. She introduced us to friendtly people and told us where to go when we needed our vehicle serviced. ITS CALLED THE BUCKET TOUR. She even gave us a bucket to remember the name full of car wash supplies and even helped us set up ONSTAR!!! I told her that I think we could set it up ourselves but she wanted to make sure that if we had any questions about the vehicle she was there to help. DID I JUST BUY A NEW CAR WITH OUT KNOWING IT??? Terrible experience. But after seeing all the reviews it makes sense. Shady place to do business. Went to look at a vehicle online at a certain price. When we got there the vehicle had just "sold" seconds before. Another vehicle was brought to us, I mentioned if it was the same price, since we were paying cash, we were assured it was. Test drove it and liked it and as we sat to wait for final numbers it was bumped up 4500 more than we originally went in for. Along with a manager telling us we didn't pay attention to details on their website. I don't like leaving bad reviews but my goodness the dishonesty is so obvious. Very disappointing! Worst experience ever at a dealership. Showed up in jeans and a black tshirt in my truck, interested in a corvette Z06...I know it's a special car, I get that. When I asked to get in one and test drive to see if I could fit well (I'm 6'0) and handle the 650 horsepower, the car salesman said "we can't just let young kids off the street come drive the cars and put miles on the car and mess up the tires..." He went on to say, you can drive it once we agree on the numbers. I've never bought a car without driving it first...I've never even put an offer on a car or talked numbers without driving it first. The sales rep was easy to work with however every time he came back from the finance dept the price of the vehicle went up. When I returned with my title the loan had increased to 84 months????? and the final price grew by $6,800. Went down the street and purchased a better vehicle with more extras for less. read more

The only reason I waited for Vandergriff to get it together was because I got a great price on a demo truck; however, it was approximately a two week process to get it. I called and was told they had a truck like I wanted and that I could see it. I drove over and was told it wasn't there. Then, I was told it was locked up, as it was still a demo vehicle. Every time I called, I talked to someone different. I was told various stories about how many miles it needed to have and how many days it needed to be a demo before I could buy it. Every time I was assured I was given the correct information, I was to find out it was again the wrong information.I visited the dealership several times and had to wait up to 2 hours to even get an answer or see the truck. I was able to take it for a couple of days to finish putting the miles on that were needed for me to purchase it, and AGAIN that was not correct. There was not way I could get that many miles on it, as my work is not far. Finally I got the truck and all I heard about from everyone I dealt with was about the darn survey. I liked my salesman, and one of the people I dealt with said that if I completed an unfavorable survey, it would reflect badly on him. I can't even count the number of people I had to deal with on what should have been such an easy deal. Even when I made my payment, the finance guy again had to remind me about getting a good review on that survey. After I bought the truck, I noticed the tint was scratched. I called service and was told that I couldn't make an appointment, that I needed to just take it up and let them look at it, then make an appointment. I did that, and the guy who needed to look at it was at lunch. I was told he would call me when he got back. I waited for two weeks with no call back. I finally reached the manager of the dealership to tell him about my horrible experiences and he did his best to make things right. I took it back and waited a very long time for the tint to be replaced. I had an unpleasant experience with Vandergriff when I bought my suv in 2013, and went elsewhere to purchase. I do love my truck, but first and last experience I will have with the dealership. read more

As far as the service department is concerned it's all a thumbs down. I've attempted to take my wife's Tahoe there A few times for some repairs. Marcus is the man here! Great Christian guy with decent morals and values, something that is hard to find in the car buying industry. Was straight forward throughout the entire car buying process and I never got the impression that he was being shady (and trust me, we had been to countless dealers and had some shady experiences so we became very good at spotting the phony smiles.) Anyway, he worked hard to put us in the car we wanted for as close to the price as possible and my family and I are grateful. Only drawback was some of the wait times got long but you come to expect that at a dealership when working out a deal. Look forward to bringing them more business! read more
