Update: I got everything taken care of. Johnathan and Mr. Pace ensured that I got exactly what I needed this time. I'm not going to remove the previous review because it's important to know that we can come back from things like this. My car was completely serviced, which is what is most important. All of the beautiful ladies in the customer service area were awesome as always!! I would return, for sure. It's always good to go in for scheduled maintenance and leave with only an oil change. Especially after you spoke with Dusty, who is the Service Drive Manager, and ensures you that, "If you need ANYTHING," don't hesitate to let me know. The patriarchy of it all is REAL.... I called this service dept on Wednesday to schedule maintenance for 9am on Thursday. The call with Johnathan went well, so I expected the same for my experience. Unfortunately this was NOT the case. I sat in my car a good 5 minutes before even being addressed. Once I was addressed, I was blown off when I SHOWED the young man the NAMES of the individual that I spoke to as well as the name of the person who would take care of me. So I sat.....and sat...... I decide to get out of the car and look for the person who I was supposed to speak to. I'm in a BRIGHT, YELLOW hoodie. This person WALKS RIGHT BY ME. Not even a, "be with you in a minute." I walk to his space, open the door, and let him know that I'll wait inside for him "not to be so busy," to speak with me. I waited....and waited..... OHHHH!!!! What a feeling to have SEVERAL employees look YOU RIGHT IN THE EYE, and look away!!!! OHHHHH!!!!! The employees appear to be angry at one another. The tension is THICK, and they make sure you SEE, HEAR, and FEEL it..... So, after waiting, I decide to get up and go BACK OUTSIDE IN MY YELLOW HOODIE, to possibly EVEN GET ASKED WHAT I NEED!!! WHILE MY CAR IS PARKED ALL THE WAY INSIDE IN FRONT OF THE SERVICE PROVIDERS' WINDOWS!!!! IM LITERALLY STANDING THERE LOOKING AT PEOPLE WALK PAST MY CAR, asking each other who it belongs to, while looking at ME AND LOOKING AWAY!!! So I walk to Johnathan's office to inform him of what has transpired, as he took my appointment for a SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE appointment, that's important. I didn't ask for a manager, but of course they sent Dusty, Service Drive Manager, to make sure I get the best service possible.....I'm fine with it, just get the car done, and manage your dept, Sir, because it's awful. SO WHY DID I LEAVE WITH ONLY A FRE OIL CHANGE AND TIRE ROTATION???????? I DID NOT ASK FOR ANYTHING FREE!!! I ASKED FOR MY CAR TO RECEIVE SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE...... So....I call Friday and explain this to the person who answers. She was not pleasant and I did not receive a call al art from anyone. I call just now, and Dusty, "We can get you taken care of!" He's really chipper!!! SIR, I TOOK OFF OF MY JOB TO COME IN. I WILL HAVE TO TAKE OFF AGAIN. YOU GET TO BE CHIPPER BECAUSE YOU ARE AT WORK.... I saw ONE woman in the service dept. Any other woman I saw was answering phones. I do not believe that if I went with a man, or had a man actually take my car that this would have been the case. It's disappointing. Day 3 of my husband's Chevy Colorado being with this dealership's service department. No effort was made to each out the first day they had it. We had to call at the end of the first day and all they said was they couldn't get the issue to replicate. No calls day 2. Here's what I have found out in the time they have had the vehicle. 1) the issue is a known problem, and originally the tech said, hmmm never heard of this issue 2) the model year prior had a recall issued for the SAME EXACT PROBLEM 3) either he was lying about not knowing the issue or he's ignorant about the product his company sells and services. Neither of these are acceptable. 4) the issue relates to the power steering randomly failing in the middle of driving, causing steering to be extremely unstable, so this is not just a failure of their own product, this is a SAFETY HAZARD 5) Technician finally acknowledged the prior year model's recall finally and we asked what Chevy was going to do about this. Answer: not a thing. THIS IS NOT a normal wear & tear vehicle repair, cost of owning a car... this is a FLAW in the model of the vehicle. 6) it's going to take enough people having this same, DANGEROUS issue for Chevy/GM to issue a recall, or possibly someone losing control of their car when this failure happens on the highway. I stopped in to look at a 2019 corvette my retirement dream car and the gentleman that help us opened the car but told us we had to do a credit check to drive it, now I have heard of leaving you dL or a deposit but why would I run my credit and maybe not purchase that week I tested Cadillac,Mercedes, BMW that were much more expensive they never asked for a credit check? I purchased a new Chevy Silverado in 2018 and was extremely pleased with purchase. The dealership gave me a great deal and purchase process was very streamlined. Five Stars. What is not good is that the dealership harasses me with multiple phone calls wanting to repurchase my pick up. I have told them to quit calling and remove my info from their database in which they agree and the next week a different person calls. I have received 4 calls from 3 people in the last 7 days. This was the first time my husband and I went to a dealership to buy a car, and I'd have to say that it was an experience that I'm never looking forward to again. We spent 4 hours at this dealership (and that was with us arriving knowing exactly which car we wanted and for a price already agreed upon). Yes, this dealership has extremely low prices. But they justify horrible customer service by their low prices. We bought a Chevy Spark, and there were several things this place did to make our experience difficult: 1. They tint all of their vehicles and charge $400 for it. The tint is NOT a great job and definitely not worth $400. We have a Tesla, and it costs $500 to tint that car. No way should it cost $400 to tint a Chevy Spark. The tint also claims to have a warranty, but you can't get it fixed anywhere other than at this dealership. 2. The salesperson, Obed, would talk back to my husband. My husband asked to see an invoice for the tint because Obed claimed that Chevy didn't make any money off of it. Obed told him, "Why does it matter? It doesn't affect you" and started raising his voice. Not okay. 3. We had a $100 off coupon for accessories. We looked online on Chevrolet's website, and we decided that all weather floor mats would be the best choice. Obed told us that the dealership would sell us parts at invoice price if we bought a car. The parts department at this location quoted us almost 2x the price of what Chevrolet sells them for. We left without any accessories. 4. Our state is New Mexico, and the sales tax is 3%. When we were at finance, my husband noticed that the tax they charged on the car was over 3%. The finance person stated that they usually charge more than the tax percentage and refund after the sale. 5. My husband told Obed at the beginning that we would be buying the car together and to put my name on the papers. When we finally got to finance (3 hours later), my name wasn't on any of the paperwork. We didn't want to wait any longer for them to fix it. 6. One of the managers rushed us to sign paperwork. His words exactly were "Either take the car, or don't take the car. We have other customers waiting to get into finance." They don't treat people like customers, more like numbers in a line. Overall, I feel that the practices of this dealership are a bit shady. When asked questions about integrity (for example, the pricing of the parts and the overcharging for tax), the salespeople and finance people dodge them. Got my car back in October and I was told my plates were going to be mailed out and now my paper plates are out and I have not received anything and when I reached out they told me I had to come pick them up. It would have been nice to know first off when my plates got to the dealership so I could pick them up before my paper plates went out. Second when I reached out to the person who sold me the car she did not inform me they couldn't give me my plates on a Saturday which is the only day I am off work to have time to go get them. I bought a car from here three months ago. I just made my second car payment and I'm having issues. My car is leaking oil and coolant the repairs are $2566.61. I've reached out to the dealership to pay for the repairs because the car is fairly new. I've talked to everyone there also several managers and none are willing to help me. Brought my truck in for service because they were recommended after a bad experience with classic in grapevine. My truck was making some kind of squeaking noise- which turned out to be a seal on the transfer case input shaft. I took it for a ride with the service advisor and we clearly heard this loud, squeaking, rubbing noise. We clearly heard this noise. After three days of waiting; the advisor called me back and told me that this noise was caused by my "aftermarket cold air intake". Typical deflection by a GM dealer to not fix something when it's under warranty which I've seen before. The intake was installed properly. The noise the intake was making was not the noise I described, not remotely close to the noise I dropped the vehicle off for, not the noise that the service advisor and I heard when we took it for a ride. I also asked for an inspection since I am new to town and need to register my truck. They charged me $25 for a safety inspection and an emissions inspection the date on the door is 04/18; making it emissions exempt. I had another vehicle done the weekend prior and it cost me $7. I'm not making a stink about the $18 they screwed me out of, but when they told me "that's just how it is when you transfer it from Pa, I just did it myself.." that's just shady. This dealership sucks. So I wasted $60 on Uber, and they overcharged me $18 on the inspection for no reason. This guys are shady, and once my vehicle is fixed I will be letting Gm customer care know of the terrible experience I had with these folks. read more

I was prepared for the haggle till death, arm wrestle, spend hours to get the price, payment & interest rate I wanted. None of that happened. I drove it home! Wow...what a great experience. All the way through the process, my salesman Marcus Raymond was honest, respectful and so nice. Everyone we came into contact with was! My finance Manager Jesus Flores was awesome. No drama, no pressure, just honest and easy to understand options.I even brought friends to look at the truck and support me during what I thought would be a stressful day. It wasn't that at all. Saturday was a packed with car shoppers, I learned why quickly. It was a great dealership, a no stress experience and I got exactly what I wanted..even more than I hoped. But had to deal with the sales department to get a second key FOB because I didn't get a second one when I bought the truck. Called my salesman several times was told someone would be in contact. Received a email stating that someone would follow up with me. So finally figured will show up and get it all taken care of. Well I was treated like I was a lying piece of trash. Over a two day period I worked out a deal to buy a truck from them, filled out there credit app, they said everything looks good and they would call me in 45 minutes to come pickup the truck. I am very disappointed with this business. First, I had to call 4 times because I was promised a return call to schedule a diagnostic on my car due to it not starting sometimes and saying service stabilitrak as well as saying service steering and drive with care. After the 4th call, I was finally transferred to the mechanic department. I was told it was probably the battery and was scheduled for today 11/19 at 12pm. Once I arrived today I was told that no one is claiming me, which I guess means there was no appointment, since I couldn't remember who scheduled the appointment. The young lady continued to give me optional. 1. Leave car for a couple of days ( no offer for a loaner car) or 2. come back monday and leave car all day ( still no offer for a loaner car) . Now that I am reading about Vandergriff Chevrolet I should not have purchased my car from them it appears. I purchased a late model Cadillac SRX and was told it inspects well and shown paperwork that indicated the same. I had the vehicle roughly 3 months and had to have the fuel pump replaced. The cost for this over 900.00 dollars out of pocket, in contacting the service department at the dealership they said that I had purchased the car used and elected no extended warranty. As a result I did find someone that could do the work for the price stated above. Vandergriff said it would be 1400.00 dollars so naturally I went with the 900. I am making certain that everyone I know is aware of how this was handled and try to warn others Buyers be Ware when dealing with Vandergriff dealerships. read more

Not looking forward to returning to the service department in the future. 6/26/19 I called the service department in the morning to ask about diagnostic on a2016 chevy sonic that had the temp light turn on. Possible overheating issue. Was told that I could take it in for a diagnostic to get it checked out. Left work early to get it there about 2 pm only to be told that they are very busy and I would have to leave car there for 1-1/2 weeks just to get it checked out! That does not include labor and repair times if the car actually needed to be worked on. I asked again and was told the same thing, that amount of time leaving the car was basically for the car to be sitting in line since the specialist had a heavy work load and had several cars ahead of mine. That was the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard from a service department. I was not given any other options or any info about a loaner. I left very disappointed with vandergriff since this was my first time actually visiting the service department. I purchased a new vehicle at this dealership 4 months ago and wrote a good review based on that experience. This experience will not get such a good review. I left instead of speaking to a service department manager since I was trying to get car checked out before most other business closed that might be able to check out my car. Not that speaking to a manager would've made a difference, I'm sure I would've been told the exact same thing.... To leave my car for over a week just to get checked out! What I don't understand is why any employee would answer the phone, tell a customer to bring car in if they knew they were already that far behind in work. Obviously that amount of cars didn't line up from 9 am until 3 pm to be seen for the exact same thing if the one mechanic would not be able to check out my car until a week later. Vandergriff is a big dealership and is well known, but apparently their service department is not set up to handle several cars at a time with the same issue. They have mechanics that specialize in one area and that mechanic was the one having to service all overheating cars or any cars that came with similar issues. I feel that this well known dealership should have several available mechanics to handle multiple car issues that come in to the service department. read more

This will be long but worth the read for anyone thinking of buying from this dealership. Even though, after reading the other reviews, I think a shopper knows to never consider coming here. My husband and i had bought a 2021 Tahoe RST from here about 6 months prior and we've been having issues with the radio connecting and disconnecting while driving, and were told that there was a recall and to bring it up there for an "quick fix". So my husband brought it to their service department and the "quick fix" turned into the service department wrecking my car on the way back causing a ding and scratch to the hatch and bumper. They gave us a loaner for time being while they fixed it. My husband asked the dealership if we could buy ac seats for the car while it was in the shop, and they said no, it wasn't possible but I'm sure if you wanted to switch vehicles he can contact the sales manager so he can get you a deal to, "make what we did right". They said we could trade ours in for the 2021 Tahoe High Country, for a very discounted price. Well when he got up there THEY TOLD HIM IT WOULD BE 90,000 F**k**G DOLLARS TO TRADE. My husband asked him if that was a joke? The sales member just said he was disappointed too and took the paper back to the sales manager and came back with just as horrible of a offer that made no sense what so ever. Bait and Switch / False Advertising. Vandergriff Chevrolet advertised 2 Chevrolet Camaros at their I-20 location in Arlington, TX at a specific price and including VIN number. When we got there, they said they have the cars, but they just entered their loaner program so they're not actually for sale; HOWEVER, they said they could sell that car to us for MORE than advertised or could sell us A DIFFERENT car for MORE than advertised. The ad clearly shows the car and lists the VIN with the advertised price. We talked to no less than 3 people including their Sales Manager who REFUSED to sell us the listed car for the advertised price. They never had any intention of selling the cars for the price listed. read more

My wife and I went to vandergriff to purchase and vehicle and basically wasted our time. 1 the sales person was new and her knowledge was limited. 2 the sales manager was no help what so ever. I think he had his mind made up that he wasn't gonna help us or the sales lady. They were trying to sell something that was out of our budget and kept pushing for exactly that. We had already done our research online and nothing was available because they were set to be sold on a certain date. Wouldn't even try to work with us. I'm personally gonna wait but will definitely take my business to a different dealership and possibly a different maker. If u have they money and r high class and don't care about widening up ur wallet then they will definitely take ur money and treat u like kings and queens other then that don't waste ur time. read more

Hello Everyone I wanted to share my experience with this Dealership... allow me a few minutes of your time to provide some insight on the short comings of said dealership. I and my 19 year old daughter entered this location on 06-21-2022 at approximately 5:35 pm under the impression that we would be meeting a gentleman by the name of Greg. My daughter had had a conversation prior to our arrival with Greg and in that conversation he stated that she needed to ask for him when she arrived. So at arrival we were met by a gentleman who we did not obtain a name for, but we were able to request to speak with Greg as instructed. The gentleman kindly stated he would take us to meet with Greg. While walking we were approached by a gentleman by the name of Reggie. He was an older African American man wearing a blue shirt. He started off seemingly nice and happy to be of service to us. Reggie stated that he could assist us in our search for Greg. So we left the first gentleman to join Reggie. We entered into the inside portion of the establishment and was offered a seat in the waiting area which was referred to by Reggie as a "Texas Takeover". Reggie then asked us if we would like a bottled water and we answered yes. He gave us 3 bottled waters and stated that he would go and find Greg and have him come help us. We waited for about 5 to 7 minutes and Reggie reappears with lout Greg. Reggie never informed I or my daughter that Greg was not going to be helping us.He just started to ask us what we were looking to accomplish today. So I and my daughter started to discuss the reason for our visit. I told him that the 2020 Yellow Kia Soul X line was her dream car and that she had had a Kia Soul but in Red before her current car but the Yellow Kia Soul was dear to her heart. During that conversation I mentioned details about her current car which is a 2021 Kia Forte GT line. I informed him about the amount owed/Lien holder/the cosmetic issue due to a not at fault hit and run incident/and lastly the proposed price we expected for her trade in which was $23,000. Reggie immediately became apprehensive which he defined as transparency. Reggie stated that he would see what he could do but to keep an open mind that it may not be achievable. Reggie then requested my daughters keys for her current vehicle and then advised us to take a gander at the 2020 Kia Soul while he was getting an appraisal for the 2021 Kia Forte. We did as instructed and was then met back with the proposed appraisal amounts. Reggie stated that if the car did not possess the aforementioned cosmetic issue then they would have gladly given $22,500 but since it did have a cosmetic issue they would only be able to offer $20,000 for her current car. I became reluctant and requested that they give my daughter $21,500 for her car. Reggie started to explain more in depth of how they came to conclude the amount offered while stating "I am just trying to look out for my people." Which to me and any other African American would indicate he is referring to the black community looking out for there other fellow black people.I still encouraged him to ask for $21,500. Reggie agreed to go and ask for the $21,500. Reggie left and returned less than 3 minutes stating that they would give us $21,500. I and my daughter were very excited but it also felt a little swift. Reggie gives us the keys to the 2020 Kia Soul for i and my daughter to take a gander of what the inside of the vehicle. My daughter was pretty familiar with the inner workings and features of this car due to her having had a similar car previous. The only thing that was observed to not be satisfactory were the stains that had been projected onto the inside roof of the vehicle which we safely assumed that had happened with the previous owner(s). My daughter asked if that could be detailed and removed we were told that that issue could be resolved. I and my daughter and Reggie re entered the establishment and began going over a form detailing the projected monthly payment and details of the sales price and trade in amount. I am so disappointed in this dealership. For 5 days I have waited for a simple quote on a vehicle. I have received calls from Gregory Lewis and different sales managers saying we have been busy, you will have it today, were just waiting on a little more information from Nv, I'll call you back in 15 minutes. Now after 5 days I find out you sold the vehicle out from underneath me without so much as a phone call. These are the no morals, sleazy tactics that make people hate car salesman. I have bought my last 4 Chevrolet vehicles all on line and out of state. All done within 2 days of the initial phone call. I just find your behavior totally irresponsible and disgusting. Needless to say I will never use your dealership or recommend it to others. read more
