They determined the root of the issue (The other guys used the wrong oil filter) and got it fixed. I am now only trusting these guys after my latest experience with the other people. read more

We bought our 2014 Santa Fe in January 2019. The vehicle was featured online at a great price, and we went there specifically for that vehicle. We spoke to David, who was awesome by the way, but he was new and his manager kept trying to get us to look at higher priced vehicles. We finally got to see the Santa Fe, and test drive it. We wanted the car. They of course added about 4000 to the price featured online because of dealer add ons... whatever. I told them I had a preapproval from Capital One, which they completely ignored and ran my credit anyway. I ended up getting approved from another company with a higher interest rate. Whatever... by that time we'd been there for about 4 hours and I just wanted to go on with my life. so... after signing on the dotted line, I wanted to go home in my new car.... wrong. They claimed that they needed to detail the vehicle (why wasn't it detailed before putting it for sale?? ). So, I got a loaner car with the promise my car would be ready on a couple days. So, we get the car back... take it on a 3 hour trip out of town, and the check oil light comes on. We call service and they say bring it in. the light goes on at times and then off, so we wait till it's on and take it in. My mom goes with me to drop off the car, they say they'll call me when it's ready, so we eat lunch, go to the mall, etc.... Well, now it's 430pm, and I still hadn't heard from them, so I call and they tell me that they had to order a part so I wouldn't get it back today. Gee, thanks for letting me know. They have my car for about a week. I get it back and almost immediately the oil light is on again!!! I call them and they say bring it in. I asked why the new part isn't working.... and they tell me they didn't put a new part in it. WHAT?? So, yeah, I'm pretty pissed. I was basically lied to. They've had my car longer than I have at this point, and my free Sirius has run out, with me getting to use it barely ever. This time, they have my car for appx 2 weeks, and saying they are still trying to figure out the problem. They finally fix it. Flash forward to October...9 months after buying the car, and my car is now over heating. I bring the car to then for an oil change and check. they say I'd have to pay 150 for a diagnosis. I take the car home and set an appt. I bring the car in, give them my warranty stuff... they diagnose the problem as the thermostat... and want 450 for a new one. Apparently, our warranty was out...by like 100 miles:/ Totally on me for not getting a better warranty... but 450 for a thermostat is insane, so we paid the 150 diagnostic fee and took the Santa fe home, where my husband replaced the thermostat. 1 week later... overheating again! I called vandergriff ard they told me to bring it in and they'd waive the fee for this time. 3 days later, we call them, because they never call, and they say it's most likely the head gaskets and the thermostat...3700. they said because we replaced the thermostat the head gaskets went bad blahs blahs blahs. They talked to my husband like he's an idiot... never admitting fault for the misdiagnosis. after their incompetence 4 times in less than a year, we decided to take the car elsewhere. my car is currently being repaired at Brian's auto care. the radiator was trashed, the thermostat also, and we're looking at either head gaskets, or new heads... for less than 3700. This whole situation is ridiculous. never once have I received an apology, or maybe even a discount on services since they misdiagnosed and probably made my gaskets go bad. I will never recommend this place to anyone. Do better! read more

Used car sales- saw an advertised used car- so drove over to look at it. Car salesman was pleasant, but the two year old cpo car was a mess. Very dirty inside, and chipped pain on the outside. All minor annoyances- and I could look over them - I offered to buy it at the advertised price. The used car manager added $1,495 for "dealer prep". ?? If anyone is looking to purchase or lease a car ever, DO NOT USE Vandergriff Hyundai in Arlington. My parent's getting into a new lease has been a complete disaster. They tried to charge them for extra warranties and kept giving us the run around. Chad in finance kept playing dumb every one of the 20+ times I called as to when the problems would be corrected and new paperwork sent for signatures. Pablo, their salesperson couldn't be bothered because it was a Saturday and he was busy. They leased the car Wednesday and here it is Saturday and we're still no further ahead. My parents are ready to take the car back and let everyone in the makeshift showroom know how they are handling their business. Such a disappointment when being honest and fixing their mistakes would have taken little time and been so appreciated. They made my parents feel inept giving them a different story every time we talked to human being, they didn't have their email address or phone numbers. They seemed to have them when they called immediately after we showed interest in the car and they were quick to send out their satisfaction survey. Pablo sat there and told us that they deduct from his bonus when there is anything less than perfection on the survey. At the rate they're going it's really going to eat to to their commission. I visited your facility today (10/10/22) in search of an Accent. The young, Hispanic male came to tell me that his manager said that they were not making them anymore. I asked if there were any other vehicles close to the price of the Accent. He returned to tell me that they will not tell me the price of the Elantra or anything else because I wanted the Accent. Therefore, I was not willing to spend anymore money. I should have known that I was being racially profiled when I walked in the door and the first thing he asked me for was my phone number. He didn't even sit down with me or anything. I, a black female with a near 800 credit score, seven years on my job, and the ability to pay for a car or anything I want was told by some snot-nosed, Hispanic newbie that he wasn't going to tell me anything and his boss wasn't going to tell me anything since I first wanted the Accent. He said that there was nothing they could do for me even after I told them that if they had what I wanted, I'd be willing to wait for them to get it in. I left incredibly offended and contacted another Hyundai dealer who was more than willing to help me and also warned me about this location. Avoid the service dept like the plague. Has my genesis in for the 2nd trans fluid exchange. After 2 weeks , slipping and mis-shifting again. Granted the ZF trans on all first-gen Genesis are a piece of Sh**. Its a miserable riding and driving car, no way to correct it. Service said it can be fixed with full servicing. Lie. The biggest mistake, is i found out they had a service tech running scams and ripping off customers, i was "almost" another victim. First let me say I used to work for 10 years for a large software company that produces systems for auto dealership management. So I have spent many days in the dealership world and know how things work. I went to VH last night trying to find and buy the new Hyundai Palisade. This SUV had everything I wanted in a vehicle and I test drove it and liked it even more. I was more than happy to pay the full sticker price. We then sat down to negotiate the deal and at that point I was informed there would be a $3000 markup added by Vandergriff Hyundai due to the fact that this was a new vehicle and in demand. While this is legal, it is immoral and just plain gouging people because the vehicle is in demand. This is WRONG and many dealers will not do this. NEVER EVER PAY ABOVE MSRP. STAY AWAY FROM VANDERGRIFF HYUNDAI!!! If you want a Palisade contact other Hyundai dealers and just ask them straight up "Do you charge any dealer add ons if I buy a Palisade (or any other car/truck) from you". Also beware of other types of add ons like destination fees, striping/etching fees, life insurance fees, prep fees. These are all bs added by dealers to pad their bottom line when the manufacturer pays then for most of these. Another issue last night was customer service. The salesmen are fine and very pleasant but the sales manager never even made the effort to come to meet with us and do any kind of negotiating. They have the arrogance of "we have a hot car and someone else will pay what we ask". Check out You Tube there are many videos out there that show you how to avoid dealer scams and rip offs and help you be well informed when you walk into the dealership. I bought a 2019 Veloster for my grandson, he drives it back and forth to school. In just a couple months I have had it in for service three times. Grandson dropped it off Thursday night and was told they would get on it first thing in morning. I called Friday and he said they where really backed up but he promised to at least tell me what they found by 1:00 on Saturday (No Call) I called and the lady that answered couldn't find anyone to talk to me, she said she would send a urgent email and some one would call me back( Once Again No Call) they are closed on Sunday , so have no idea where I stand. Well my dumb self tried them out again out of desperation bc my check engine light came on & I needed to see what the problem was. Cringing I schedule with my other Hyundai dealer who's appointments were over a month out. This dealership the same, over a month out (so I scheduled with both dealers) this one happened to be 1st. The day of the appointment, drop vehicle off, go to check in the advisor asked, are you dropping the car off, I said yes once I find out what's wrong or the length of time it will take. Her response, oh we will not even look at your vehicle until 3 weeks out. My response so what is the purpose of making an appointment to fix my issues if you guys can't even look at it. She said people drop their car off for 3weeks for diagnostic all the time & she will not be able to tell me what the issue is. My response, I don't know who can humanly possible drop their car off for 3 weeks just so u can diagnose an issue to leave it longer to fix. I have to work. This is insane. Well needless to say. 2022. I will not be going there yet again. I should've learned from the 1st 3x's so I wouldn't have this problem. I waited a month for an appointment to have my Sonata looked at for an engine issue which would likely have been covered under warranty. Only after waiting the 30 days and then bringing my car in for the "appointment" was I told that it would be another 4- 6 WEEKS before my car would even be looked at. Most shocking was that I was told that although nothing would be done with my car for 4-6 weeks, I had no choice but to leave it at the dealership for the entire time. So I have no car for weeks while it sits and collects dust at the dealership?? This is ridiculous and makes no sense! What I have to say I am an Oncology doctor and an university/ College professor and I never been treated so awfully in my entire life. I always respect and treat everyone by respect and love. I just stopped to get my annual service done on my car as mentioned by our assurance maintenance contract and after waiting for more than 30min a tech come out and served the car behind, so I talk to her by saying that I wish if she could at least let me know that she will be with me shortly before jumping to the car behind me. She repeatedly said to me that I am "rude" so I ask her to call her manager who come out and without any further talk he said to me by pointing the exit with his hands to get out of his driveway abd that he did not like the way I handled this situation. I really cannot believed what I am hearing so I put a complaint against them to the service customer care and I called the general manager Mr Ryan Rios and left him so far two messages he did not return my calls yet but I will definitely keep you updated about this situation and how the service manger of this particular store and the Hyundai corporate are going to Handel this situation. I have purchased 5 cars from Vandergriff dealerships over past 10years...3 were Hyundai. However, after today's experience I doubt I will ever use them again for service or new car. I found a car on their showroom floor that I was interested in and found the exact car...correct stock number, and it was one price then I called and the sales person quoted me a higher rate. I had told him what the cash price was on the website. When I told him I was paying cash for the vehicle the price then went up $3,000 over the web price. I'd like to start by saying I don't like the car buying process but have recently purchased 3 new cars, the last one at Vandergriff Hyundai. I saw a price for the Tucson Ultimate on their website that I was willing to pay. I reached out to them and verified that they had the car and that they would honor the price. I made an appointment to buy the car and when I arrived at the dealership the very pleasant young man quoted a price $5,316 higher then the price we agreed on. I asked why the change and he stated I didn't qualify for the discounts. To my credit I didn't get outwardly angry, I said I would not like to buy the car and prepared to leave. He asked what price did I want to pay? I said just the price on the web site, He asked Mike the sales manager, so Mike came over and introduced himself and agreed that they would absolutely honor the price. I told them I would not be trading my car because Carmax had offered more for it, so he even adjusted that price. My salesman completed the paperwork and introduced us to the Finance guy who was equally as pleasant and he got us out in record time. Yes, there was 1 hiccup in the beginning but everyone was extremely nice and professional and I got exactly what they promoted. My son likes to remind me that they are just trying to make a living and if they can sell it for more then they make more money and they don't lose their jobs. I have dealt with Ford, KIA, Hyundai, Chevy, and Chrysler lately and none of them are fun, but Vandergriff came through and I appreciate their professionalism. read more

I had service on my 2014 Hyundai Sonata yesterday. Cody Enis was my service person. He kept me informed every step of the way. He was friendly and polite. I was very satisfied. I don't see what all the negative reviews are about. There were a lot of customers around me and it seemed like they were all being treated in a professional and polite manner also. The service area seems to deal with a large number of cars, but they have a large space and plenty of staff on hand, so the wait time was minimal. read more

Just drove 8 hours from New Orleans and Hugo was supposed to help me with my purchase of a 2020 Ford F-150. Was there for 40 minutes no Hugo. Finally Hugo comes and greets himself and brings some little kid with him. Litte kid pulls my car around the building and says hop in the vehicle I was supposed to purchase to do a test drive. Started the truck had zero gas so that tells me how they treat their vehicles by burning the fuel pump. After test driving the truck jumped out looked at everything brakes were shot, front passenger door was a different color of white than the whole truck. front right fender was falling off and the bolts were all paint matched which made the truck looks stupid. oh also the advertisement was completely wrong saying it had a moonroof and towing package because when i got there was none of that. still NO Hugo like this shows a lot of customer service. honestly it was a waste of time and i feel bad if this happened to you. please send me a refund of making me drive all the way there to waste my time and money read more

I can't give it less than one, but it I could I would. The salesperson for internet sales left for the day before I could get there after work. The advertised price for the car was well published. The price was advertised on the website, we were quoted the upfront price through USAA car buying service $14745 + $150 dealer fees. Let me stress, up front pricing". The car was brought around and the young salesman rode in the back while I test drove that car and another on the lot that I saw when I got there. Everything was pretty standard. I told the salesman that we want the car that we came in to drive and we already have our own financing. This should be really easy at this point. We went inside and the salesperson presented me with a quote that was over $1600 in "options" that I was informed was different then fees and that the $14745 was the base price and the "options" were things that were done after car purchased by the dealer at auction. I was shown another piece of random paper the had a price of over $17000 that one of the managers stated is "what I have in it" This was a used fleet care. I explained that I wasn't going to pay more than I was quoted. At this point, I have the price on the internet, an email from the sales person, and the USAA car buying service quote. The manager brought back another paper where the "options" price was adjusted to reflect the $150 bringing the subtotal to $14895 which I accepted. The very young salesperson continued to reason with me that price quote was not dishonest and that information regarding the discrepancy in price was very clear in the fine print at the bottom of the internet page indicating that "fees" may vary based on state. The disclaimer at the bottom of every internet car sales page. I still don't think that the added $150 in options was the fees that I was originally quoted, but including that, the price was still a fair price and I was willing to accept the offer. The salesman took the car to get it ready and gassed up. When I left the dealership 2 hours after arriving, the gas tank was still empty. read more

Horrible customer service. I went along with a friend to buy a car for him. Bought the car and after we were back with the car on the weekend. He couldn't call his agent and get the insurance as it was weekend and the agent was out on Monday as well. He didn't drive the car at all through this period. Next day, one of their representatives started threatening my friend with statements such as " we will report the car stolen if you don't send insurance by 1:30 pm" and was extremely rude throughout the conversations. We sent the insurance before the deadline but they need to learn how to behave with people! We are students at UT Arlington and not some thieves. They knew that we are students.
