When I received the car all of a sudden, the tire pressure warning went on, the back windshield was distorted and the tires on the car were made for a truck. The wheels were out of alignment also. I've tried texting my agent with no replies, then I asked for a manager to return my call, no reply. It seems as soon as they sell you the car they don't give a damn about you. This car supposed to go through a 30 point inspection which I don't think it did. I feel like I've been ripped off especially about the price going up in a day. I purchased a used 2020 Hyundai Palisade in October 2023. The first red flag appeared right at the point of sale. I had seen the car online and the pictures looked fine. When I visited the dealership, it was nighttime, so I did my best to inspect the vehicle. I noticed some minor scratches, which I understood as part of buying a used car. However, when it came time to sign the paperwork, Finance Manager Nathan Speight took me aside. After I declined some of the extra add-ons, he showed me two interest rates: one higher if I declined the add-ons, and a lower one if I agreed to purchase them. This felt incredibly shady. As a first-time car buyer, I now realize I was taken advantage of, as the dealership seemed to be using the lower interest rate as a way to pressure me into buying unnecessary extras. This practice is not only deceptive but potentially unfair to unsuspecting customers. I would strongly advise anyone buying from this dealership to be cautious about add-ons and financing. Things didn't improve after the purchase. Two days later, I noticed the passenger rear rim was severely damaged. The tire itself was brand new, and there were no signs that my wife had hit a curb. I immediately returned to the dealership to address the issue, and that's where the customer service experience truly soured. I was directed to speak with Alex Wagrowski, who seemed disinterested from the moment I started explaining the issue. He wouldn't even make eye contact, and after listening, he unilaterally blamed my wife for hitting a curb, despite no evidence to suggest that was the case. His lack of empathy and professionalism was appalling. I left feeling dismissed and frustrated. I eventually got in touch with Ryan Rios, the Managing Partner, who did help by connecting me with Michael Oatman. After a lot of back-and-forth, I was finally told they would cover the cost of a new wheel. However, I was required to do all the legwork to find an OEM wheel at a low enough price for them to agree to reimburse me. This entire process was unnecessarily drawn out, and I felt like I was doing more work than the dealership itself. Overall, my experience with Vandergriff Hyundai has been incredibly disappointing, and I would not recommend doing business with them. From deceptive sales practices to poor customer service, it's clear that once they have your money, they don't care about you. Look at their yelp reviews first!!! Not recommended! They had my dream voodoo blue 4runner. Started inquiring about it online and had a trade. Valued my trade on their site and it said 17768.00 cool I know that's a quote. Once we got in contact with a sales rep we sent in all a ton of pictures and were told 17000 unseen but will probably go up. Mind you this car is two years old and 20,000 miles no history or anything. I'm thinking great! So I reach out to my credit union and get a loan. I call the next day make sure the vehicle is still there, they say yes.. I go awesome, I was approved by my credit union last night so I'm going to take the day off and make the trip from San Antonio to Arlington. 4 and a half hours later we get to the dealership test drive the car and said ok, here's my number and my rate, if you think you can beat it I'm open to financing with a preferred lender but if not I'm sticking with my credit union. First off, when the sales guy was telling us things about the car and dealership and some items they offer and charge for.. he keeps saying well I think or I'm unsure. Whatever new kid still wet behind the ears. Then the finance manager comes back. Some how a $45,000 car with rolling over 100 dollars turns into a $65,000. They were only offering 13000 for my car at this point (but supposedly the 3300 in sales tax savings they are "giving" me and that puts me at almost the $17,000 I was promised. Then I continue looking and they have added over 11,000 in dealer costs! Charging me for tint that was already on the vehicle when it was traded in, for a new set of locked lug nuts they supposedly had to replace because they first owner lost it, a reconditioning fee of over $3,300 for what?! They didn't even detail the car. Plus a whole bunch of other BS I wasn't buying. I get your a car salesman and that's how you make your money but I'm not falling for it. Anyways I could go on about that. He goes back and comes to me with $16000 for my car and 4,500 in other dealer costs trying to be like look we're almost there just take it. I again gave them my bottom number with my check and said if you can't get it here I'm walking. They go back and come back again and then tell me that oh we don't take outside financing. I was like ok I'm leaving I'm done. This is BS I took the day off and drove for hours for all of nothing. As I was leaving I decided to walk back in to talk to the finance manager just to say how disappointed I was that my time and money was wasted and had I not been promised $17000.00 and was told they didn't take outside financing I would have never made the four hour drive up. He was busy so I asked about his boss. Another finance manager had came out and rudely told me they were in a meeting that I had to wait. I said that's fine, then was like actually can I get a name and email/number.. at that point I was told hold on. 15 minutes pass and I asked how long it takes to get the info. As I was saying that their saving grace Chad came out of his meeting. All I wanted to do was talk to him and just say hey these things really need to work or these guys need better training. He wanted to make it right, explained that was poor on them, cleared up a few things, left and came back he was right where I wanted to be. Fast forward to signing the contract the finance manager I was dealing with before proceeds to slip in a $4,700.00 protection plan. I let him think we didn't notice it and trust it will be cancelled as soon as they register it. Oh and the kicker, they wouldn't give me my temp tags until I left a 5 start review on google for them. Talk about shady!! That's why they have such a high rating there. The only good thing I have to say is Chad was great and I thank him for his transparency and help that day and the following days when I couldn't get back ahold of the finance guy to get copies of our signed contract. Jan 3, 2025-Jan 9,2025 * I took my vehicle back to Vandergriff Hyundai because my brake lights and interior lights would not go off after the car was turned off. The lights being on all night drained my battery. I didn't want to risk this happening again, at work or anywhere else, other than my home. I had the battery jumped in order to drive it to the dealership. * The Service Representative checked the vehicle in and told me a multi-point inspection would be performed, and he would let me know what the results were. I attempted to explain to the Representative that I just had several repairs and the multi-point inspection done in Nov 2024, but he stated that another inspection was needed. * I didn't understand that because I rarely drive my vehicle so in order to get it checked in and authorized the inspection. Please be advised that the inspection had several of the same items, that were allegedly performed in Nov 2024! * The unbelievable and excessive quote he gave me, was for $11,001.19, and I respectfully declined those services! * I paid for the services that were needed, and the reason I brought the vehicle there in the first place for the lights not going off, causing the draining of my battery. I also purchased windshield wipers as I realized those needed to be replaced. I refused to pay for repairs that were not needed in the amount of $11,001.19. Two more inspections from reputable automotive companies were done in Jan and Feb 2025, they confirm that the issues from the Vandergriff Hyundia inspection, regarding the most expensive repairs (brakes, tie rods, alignment etc..) are not needed! read more

They chipped paint off my car's hood and my air conditioner broke. Went back to fix the air conditioner and they said it was $1200 to fix. So, they sent Emails: hey, come get your tires rotated, get your oil changed, AND get a software update. So we got there, and they said we didn't our her oil changed yet (hello? You emailed and TOLD my sister to come in, then SCHEDULED her? Yes). Then they said, "Our system is down. We cannot update your software." Then, they said, "We DO NOT rotate tires, unless we change the oil, and we WILL NOT change it yet, because despite the fact that we told you you need an oil change, you don't." I was just there to pick her up while they worked on it. I got out, tried to talk to someone. They physically blocked me off and started trying to talk to me. last week AC stopped working, I called the service center to make an appointment that following Monday (took the day off of work to deal with any potential repairs) for servicing however when I showed up the advisor told me that my appointment was not for service but only for drop off and that I had to leave my with them with to look at sometime in the following 10-14 days because they had 400 other vehicle in line ahead of me, and that they were going to charge me a $290 diagnostic fee even though my car is still under warranty I asked to move my appoint out 2 weeks for a same day service and was told no that it had to remain on the dealership lot the entire time, even though I told the service advisor that I only had the one vehicle to drive and that it was safe to drive in its current condition - her response was I can't let you cut the line. read more

Short story, spoke to salesman on a used truck a couple of times over the phone, made a deal, I asked before running my credit how we can lock this truck in and take it off market. Was told not necessary they will put a under contract on it. Credit scores pushing 800s and they disappear for two days when I say I'm putting 50% down. Left voicemails to salesman and manager without return calls, call from a new number and salesman answers and says the truck is sold, then says its not possible to hold a truck in any form. They ran my credit twice back to back as well, so its two hard inquiries then the third when I bought a new truck. read more

Came here to test drive a car & come back with my dad the next day. I asked them to run my information to give me a rough estimate on costs. $32,000 car, they added fees & additional costs for things I didn't ask for (reconditioning fee, interior restoring fee, etc.) ended up making the total cost of the vehicle $44,000. They offered an 18% APR when I had a down payment of $10,000 & good credit with payments over $850-950+ a month for 72 months. I'm guessing because I'm young, they thought they could pull a fast one on me. They said they wanted to do whatever they could to get me to leave with the car the day of. I tried to tell them I wanted to look over the cost breakdown with my dad & come back the next day, but they didn't want me to go over anything with him... for obvious reasons. They asked to do a hard credit pull AGAIN. I tried to tell them I wanted to get a loan from my bank instead of financing through them, but they told me they don't work with outside banks. I had to rush out of there after that because they weren't taking no for an answer. It's disappointing because I did really want the vehicle, but not at the rates they were offering me with my great credentials. I asked for a copy of the cost breakdown before I left & they said they would text it to me, but I never received it after leaving. They also didn't even have a facility. Can there be negative star rating! This is by far the worst experience I have ever had with a service department. Completely incompetent. Our Hyundai Palisade has been nothing but issues since 40k miles, which is where the factory warrant would normally be out for electronics but we did buy the extended only because we were told by the finance department that Hyundai doesn't tell anyone that there supposedly great warranty does not cover anything electronic after the 3-36 warranty. Guess what at 40k it starts having electronic issues. We have taken this car in 4 times for repairs which they keep for weeks and have only provided a loaner vehicle once. The last time was kept for 3 weeks and no loaner, then get the car back to only still be having issues after they charged me for a battery that I don't think was the issue obviously. Everything works perfectly for them when they have the car supposedly, so the only way to get things repaired to make videos of the issues....ridiculous. They were told the seatbelts were having issues buckling and coming unbuckled, they only fixed the one we made a video of and not the others.....so GOD forbid something happens to my family this place will not be called Vandergriff anymore I promise! I am so tired of dealing with this place but am stuck now. BUYER BEWARE!! Puts your safety at risk!! Bad faith negotiations!! Do not even service your vehicle here! Bough a gently used Palisade in March 2023. Waited 5 hours because I had the most incompetent sales person in the industry who tried to sell me add-ons that he couldn't even explain what they were. They also openly told me they were marking up my interest rate (they make money by doing this, just refinance within 90 days at a different bank to them back at them). Was told I could not take the vehicle home the day I purchased (after signing all the paperwork) on a CPO car because it had an open recall and was not washed or gassed up. Waited 3 days and told to come and take delivery only to be told they didnt have any fuel to gas up my car. I was left with 1/8 a tank of gas and the inside was not cleaned. My salesman Matt told he me lives an hour away so it shouldnt be a big deal for me to come back again the next day if I wanted gas in my tank. Called the GM and was told they would give me $100 to not write a bad review and to make up for the gas I had to put in myself. Fast forward 3 months, I get an email from the same dealership saying I need to come in for a recall on the EXACT SAME ITEM that was supposed to be fixed when I purchased the vehicle. They held on to my car for 3 days and did not even fix it. The recall was surrounding the tow harness, and I had made several hundred miles of towing since then. This dealership pencil whips inspections, CPO certifications, and recalls. I would not ever buy a vehicle here again, nor do I recommend anyone to buy here as well. They put my family in danger by pencil whipping an open recall and saying they completed it. They also try and bribe you by paying you out to not say anything. The vehicle itself has been fine, I just do not trust one person at this excuse of a dealership. I will be contacting Hyundai North America and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) about their complete lack of regard for safety and dishonesty. read more

This might seem obvious but once you've agreed on terms they will show you what your monthly payments will be. If you don't check the contract you won't see they got to that monthly payment by adding a $1,700 reconditioning fee for used cars, and up to $4,500 in additional warranties that were never discussed. Our contract didn't even list all of the items being factored into the final price, some of them just said N/A in hopes we wouldn't do the math and realize there was an extra $1,530 added in for another warranty on top of the 3 the car came with (power train, bumper to bumper, and certified) and the other $3,000 warranty that was never mentioned but was shown on the contract. Took us 6 days from when we test drove the car and agreed to terms for them to take off the extra warranties and send us a legitimate contract to sign. My best advice would be to go somewhere else, anywhere else, but if they have the car you want make sure you check everything line by line or you'll end up throwing $ away without even knowing it. read more

I noticed a warning light on the dash for the headlight and informed my sales consultant and she advised she noticed it too. I liked the vehicle and was ready to purchase the vehicle. I was informed by the sales consultant that I would not leave the lot without the issue being fixed because it was a safety issue. I picked up the car two days later, Wednesday, and the warning light came back on on Friday evening. I called the dealership on Saturday morning and spoke to my sales consultant and she advised the issue would be resolved at no cost to me. When I took the vehicle yesterday, Monday, to get serviced I was quoted almost $4k for repairs. Nonetheless we drove a very dirty car but within the range we wanted to spend on our son. We decided to make an offer of $500 below and 4 new tires. The tall young man with dark short hair went to the birds nest to see if we could make a deal, he cane back with an offer of $2000 more than the car was listed for. Definitely felt like a bait and switch kind of moment and the kid was talking out of his "ass" because all of this chit was coming from his mouth. We declined the absurd counter and left extremely annoyed with the intention of leaving ZERO stars for this review. A few hours later I get and email that they will accept our original offer plus ttl We made arraignments to return a few days later as my husband had to leave for business and so they could have time to detail this very filthy car and do the maintenance. We agreed to meet with a very nice young lady Audrey to complete the transaction. She was your redemption to ever having our business and those young men should take notice. We were paying cash so the whole transaction from there was a breeze and they even gave us a 6 month 6k mile warranty for free. I wonder how much more business they could have if they only worked the way Audrey handles the deal. No games, no BS, no shady used car tactics. I leased a 2020 Sonata from Vandergriff in July 2020. Poor service experience: I experienced long wait times (3 hours) for scheduled maintenance appointments. I also experienced pushy calls about my lease ending despite expressing my intent to buy out the current lease. Buyout process issues: The buyout quote online from Hyundai Motor Finance (HMF) was around $13,500 (not including TTL), but the dealership quoted $17,500-$18,500. The final cost for the buyout was broken down into the purchase price, TTL, and a $2,600 "service fee" for an inspection, oil change, etc. I had to leave my car at the dealership over the weekend for the "inspection," which is a headache since the drive to the dealership for me is a bit of a distance (I don't drive much considering my 2020 only has 24k miles on it) Before going to pickup my car, I was pretty much told my personalized plates were removed. After voicing my confusion, I was asked if I told the finance person when completing my paperwork that I wanted to keep my current plates. (Not sure how I was supposed to know; I had to inform them that I wanted to keep my plates on the car that I have been driving for the past 4 years.) The finance manager eventually waived the service fee and had the paperwork adjusted, but the fact that I had to deal with the dealership trying to overcharge me for the car I have been driving for 4 years is insane. Today I noticed my HMF account is showing 4 days past due, almost three weeks after the payoff, suggesting a delay in processing the payment. I regret not doing the buyout through HMF as originally planned, but I was told I had to go through the dealership. Overall, I am very dissatisfied with the service and buyout process at Vandergriff, despite loving my 2020 Sonata. I gave them 2 stars since the "service fee" was ultimately waived, but I have yet to see the refund. read more
